Spiller on Top...mistake on ESPN stats?
apuszczalowski replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Obviously ESPNs page must be wrong We have all been told in the weekly breakdown of the days game (in no particular order) that Spiller sucks and was another waste of a pick/blunder by the GM.............. -
Did Chan pull the plug too early On Vince Young?
apuszczalowski replied to PS 56's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he doesn't understand the playbook/offence, then he is one dimensional out there and you hope he can use his legs to get you a 1stThigpen looked better in the last PS game, and I think their reasoning is that in the event that Fitz gets knocked out of the game, they can live with thigpen for the rest of the game because he atleast knows the offence and won't have to improvise the rest of the game. It really doesn't matter though, cause when TJax is ready, Thigpen is gone -
So was McNabb, who he kindly left out off his list...............

But he also had a better understanding of the offence since he had the experience of being in it for an extra year more then VY -
Equipment Manager fired after 35 years?

maybe he decided that last weekend was the final straw and decided that he couldn't take managing the losing teams equipment anymore? -

Funny, go back to the end of last season and most here had said that the main focus of this team should be the defence and the pass rush, that they need to fix the defence and things would turn around because the offence was good enough when healthy. No one ever said Fitz was elite, but he was good enough when the offence was healthy to win games. All the focus of the offseason and draft should focus on fixing the horrible defence. They make some moves to fix the defence and its talk of the team being playoff contenders. Now, after Game 1, everyone is coming out to complain because the Bills didn't use draft picks and resources from this offseason to find that Elite, Franchise QB, that every other team seems to be able to find but Buffalo doesn't even try to get. One game and Fitz is run out of town and its all about how the organisation is horrible for not trying to get Player 'X' who was available and passed on because using the magic of hindsight, that player turned out good for that team

Apparently not, I guess what he should have done is taken the football and went home until the referees went over and gave the RT a spanking for putting his hands in his face and playing against the rules Do people really think that other players, especially Linemen in the NFL are sitting there having sympathy for Williams for just pouting about not getting the calls? Do you not think other linemen are laughing at it and saying that if it happened to them, and the refs ignored it, they would take matters into their own hands? Do people seriously think that the NFL or these referees are now going to watch more closely for guys getting there hands in Marios face so that they can make those calls since he made them aware it was going on? If anything the refs are going to watch him more closely and call smaller stuff on him for trying to make them look bad and blaming them for his bad play. And don't give me the 'You have never played football before, so you don't know how hard it is" BS. Mario is being paid as the best defensive player in football, playing a position thats known for being the most aggressive and nastiest positions (the lines). He was rendered completly and utterly useless on Sunday by a guy off the Jets practice squad. -

Obviously Chan was wrong on giving up on him, look at the demand for his service since being let go and his play! He did not look good and apparently had trouble with the playbook so the Bills cut their ties and let him go. He has yet to make any of his previous teams look bad for letting him go so far -
Percent of Players Drafted Still with NFL Team
apuszczalowski replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It needs updating, You can remove Whites name from Yellow and put him back on the Bills I don't get all the complaining around here over this issue, Except for Maybin, pretty much all the players that aren't on the Bills roster anymore from those drafts are all guys from the last day of the draft. Its not like they are early picks being released. -
Thats why i said decade +The guys I listed are "NFL Quality" as much as any of the guys the OP listed. They may not have worked out or been good, but they were all good enough to make the league and all have atleast been picked up by atleast one other team after they left here. In hindsight its simple to say all of them didn't work out, but they had just as much chance as working out as the guys on that list.

Theres nothing wrong with him complaining to the refs or making it known that the refs were a problem not calling the penalty The problem is when that is all you do is whine and complain about it, then turtle and just take it. Football is a physical and tough sport and linemen are supposed to be tough. If the player keeps doing illegal things to you and the refs refuse to call it, and it keeps you from being able to do your job effectively, you need to be just as rough with him to show them your not going to take it anymore. If the refs are going to allow the guy to get his hands into your face, you need to do the same to him. Unless of course they changed the rules and they are going to play flag football out there instead -
It is exactly a hindsight thread, why didn't you list the numerous dud QBs that have come into the league and did nothing recently or went to teams and failed (McNabb was available too)? And to alot of those QBs you used in your original post, there were no guarantees that they were any better then what Buffalo had at the time. Its funny how people say that Buffalo has done nothing to address the QB position, when in fact, they have done alot to try and address it, but unfortunatly, it hasn't worked well for them. In the last decade + they have traded for Bledsoe, Rob Johnson (young player that appeared to have potential), signed Flutie, Fitzpatrick, Drafted Losman and Edwards, Just this offseason they brought in Vince Young and now Tavaris Jackson. They may not have drafted a QB high in the first round, but if that happened, people would be just as upset because it wasn't a linemen or a position of need (remember how Fitz was good enough, improve the line and he would look so much better)

We just lost a WR, so the Bills sign a RB???
apuszczalowski replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
THEY LOST A WR AND A RB IN THE SAME GAME, SO THEY SIGNED A RB AND MOVED A WR FROM THE INACTIVE LIST TO THE ACTIVE ROSTER -
half of the league did pass on him though, wiether or not they needed a QB or not may have been their reasoning for passing though. I think now, looking back, there are few teams that drafted before 24th that would have taken him if they knew he was going to be an improvement over what they had. 23 teams thought he wasn't worth taking in the first as a starter or developmental backup that early except for Green bay. To say that Buffalo made a mistake not taking him is the same as saying the 23 teams before GB made a mistake not taking him. The Bills didn't even have a chance to get him cause they had just drafted Losman the year before and had no 1st that year so they would have been in the group of teams that were passing on him cause they didn't need a QB

But CJ is a bust/wasted pick cause he always fumbles and singlehandedly lost the game for them this week when he fumbled! Just ask Bill, his My Thoughts thread said so! -

apuszczalowski replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thats the problem, they have WRs, but the quality isn't as good as many would like. They aren't "chock full of RBs either" My point was, that people are saying about picking up White because "He knows the playbook" and thats what Chan wants more, yet tehy said after the last string of cuts that the roster would look alot different for game 1 when it didn't, it looked exactly the same as it did then. maybe they meant they were going to use a different font from that point on........ if someone elses Spare parts are better then your spare parts, then it may make a difference. But why say that the roster is going to look different by Game 1 when you don't sign anyone new? -
They have tried to get a franchise QB, They traded up for JP Losman, drafted Edwards in the 3rd, traded for Drew Bledsoe and Rob Johnson, went outside the Box and signed Doug Flutie from the CFL, etc. They have tried going in all the directions that you suggest above and none of them have worked out, because its not so easy to get a franchise QB Everyone thought Brees was done after his injury, and almost all the teams passed on him except NO More then half the league also passed on Flacco Cutler is on his second team and would have cost us the only guy to perform well on Sunday (and for the next few weeks our starting RB) and our starting LG Palmer has been up and down, and the Bengals were even willing to take a risk on a rookie QB over him, another guy who after his injury teams were hesitant Dalton was passed on by the entire league and if palmer didn't hold out would have been the backup in Cinncy right now Schaub, kolb, and Cassell were all guys that were risky moves because they had limited starting experience and so far, only he has really been successful Vick put up worse numbers then Fitz this week and has been injured alot, along with the bad feelings against him due to his criminal past Aaron Rodgers was also passed on by almost the entire league, and was given a few years to sit behind and learn from Favre Locker, Gabbert, Ponder, Wilson, Cousins, and McCoy have all achieved nothing as starting Qbs in the league and a couple are not even starters Mallet has never even started an NFL game yet and currently gets to sit behind Brady and come in for Mop up duty Tebow is basically being used as a trick play/WildCat QB player and not a QB Brandon Weedon had a QB rating of 5.0 this week (And hes the guy that the Browns started over McCoy) Matt Hasselback couldn't win the starting job in Tenn and is a backup to Locker right now Aside from Rodgers and Brees, how many of those guys can you honestly say are "Franchise/Elite QBs"?

My only problem with this is that did they not just say after the final cuts a few weeks ago the roster on opening day was going to look different then what it was then? Besides signing guys to the PS, what other moves did they make to make it different?
