Whitner was offered a deal, or atleast they discussed it, but Whitner thought he was worth more and basically burned a bridge with Nix and shot them down, only to get less then he thought he was worth. Poz I think they also talked to, but he felt he was better suited to play in the 4-3 and did not want to play in a 3-4 so he said he was going to find a 4-3 team to play for. Well, they have until almost mid March to clear everything up in the front office and work out a deal with levitre before other teams can even express interest in signing with him. it sounds like he wants a top dollar dear and isn't going to take a discount to stay

Whats the hurry, I thought no decent HC or GM candidate would ever come anywhere near Buffalo anyways, so why do the Bills need to rush if only the scrap heep guys will come and interview, let alone take the job? -
Can't wait to see the video, I have heard insider rumors about what it contains It opens with Ralph looking old and frail sitting at a desk in what looks like his office at RWS. He discusses the last season and about how it disapointed everyone, the fans, players, coaches and especially himself. He says the entire coaching staff has been fired, and Nix is currently packing up his office along with Brandon and the rest of the front office. He then announces that they have hired Saint Polian to take over as the new President of football operations, who will work with Vice President Caldwell. The GM position will be filled by Doug Whaley who just finished hiring the new coaching staff that includes HC Bill Cowher, Assistant HC John Gruden, OC Thurman Thomas and DC Wade Phillips. Ralph then says that he has discussed with his family and they agreed that the team will be handed over to Jim Kelly (who steps out next to him at the desk) who will become the new owner, and as part of the deal the team will stay forever in the Kelly name and be handed down to his nephew when Jim decides its time Ralph then stands up from the desk and he looks heathier then Jack Lalanne in his prime and says that theres one more thing, rips down the curtain behind him to reveal moving trucks being loaded up at RWS and that the team will be moving into its new stadium, IN Los Angeles! He then flips off the camera and says "Screw you Buffalo, I'm in better shape mentally and physically then all of you! Thanks for all your gratitude for keeping the team in Buffalo for 50 years!" Him and Kelly then share a laugh, slape high fives and the camera fades to black..............

Fire Nix so we don't lose the guy who may be just as responsible as Nix for the drafts that everyone here hates so much the last couple years? Sounds like typical Bills fan wishes Also sounds like last season, where they have to fire George "the worst D-Coordinator ever" Edwards for Dave Wanstache who will turn the defence around right away....... -

I never really agree with this arguement when people bring it up, if your doing a good job as the HC and your teams good, theres no reason why a new GM or Owner would let you go (unless its to give the job to a friend of his). If the caoch is bad enough that the GMs job is on the line, a firing might be a good thing -

Because he couldn't win with what was supposed to be a "Dream Team", and this league is all about what you have done lately, where gnats have larger attention spans and memories then the fans -

Exactly, I would bet something similar happened with all the other teams firing their coaches today have done too (except for them, it didn't involve a flight out to the owners home to meet).Teams don't just call up the coach at home, or send an email saying "Your Fired". They meet, discuss the team and the season, then announce that the coach and/or GM is fired I expect that Chan is gone, this meeting could be to discuss with him how he wants to do it, by "retirement" or Firing. I would expect Nix is safe because they don't want to start over with another rebuild again so he is safe for atleast one more season, unless he decides he is also ready to move on and retire -

No, they had to call it black monday first, then the rest of the days of the week can be whatever you want to call them -
The Caliber is similar to the Compass (looks kinda like a mini 4-door station wagon). Its what Dodge replaced teh Neon with, and its now been replaced by the new Dart Never had a Ram before so I don't know, but I love the Dakotas, always been reliable for me, they do start to rust on the box side wheel wells and fenders. I use mine all the time for working around the house

Whats your reasoning for wanting to go from a sporty luxury import car to a full size truck? To answer the title of this thread I drive - A 2007 Dodge Caliber R/T - A 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport Quad Cab v8 - Wife Drives a 2008 Pontiac G6 I personally love the Dodge Dakotas, previously I owned a '98 single cab v6 dakota (manual) 2wd and it never had any issues except for it starting to rust out around the rear wheel wells. Only thing I hated was 2wd in the winter, and being only a single cab there was only room for 2 people with any baggage or stuff being thrown in the box. I replaced teh Dakota with a '99 Explorer I bought at a used car dealership (AS-IS) that had the timing chain go and destroy the motor 2 months later. Fixed it and drove it for a few more months before selling it and buying the 4 door Dakota. I drove that for a while back and forth to work but the mileage on that v8 was causing me to spend $100 a week just in gas to go to work. I decided to keep that truck since it was paid for already and use it on weekends or when needing to haul stuff/materials around and I went looking for something cheaper. Originally the plan was to get a Jeep (had a few and tehy are my favorite), but everything I found was high mileage with just as high price tags for the earlier TJs, and I'm not impressed with the original v6 mini van motor the earlier new wranglers have (would have liked to have gotten one with the new v6 in it but they were out of my price range at the moment) so I looked around and took a Caliber out for a drive. I bought an R/t cause it had the biggest 4 cyl of all the Calibers in it, and comes with AWD. Unfortunatly, even though the R/T was the top model, it was still bone stock inside. Its auto with an Auto-Stick that I barely use, but its almost half the cost to get back and forth to work. Traction is good too with the AWD, my Dakota slid everywhere in the snow we just got, I had trouble getting the Caliber to drift anywhere in the snow

thigpens a FA, they would have to re-sign him to cut him
-
Keeping him and playing/starting him are 2 very different thing. You keep him as a backup if the cap hit is better next year and you have the money to pay him this year. If the hit isn't better next year, or the are strapped for actual cash, you let him go before March No way he starts/plays unless its absolutly necessary though

They can sure shovel it at One Bills Drive

Vick is the best Pick

Yeah, give up whatever they want for a guy with less then 2 games of actual NFL experience!!!!!!he has to be awesome cause everyone in the world is better then what we have -
Vick is the best Pick
apuszczalowski replied to JimKelly4President's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Neither did Kelly And I doubt Vick could even offer then a couple years of play, he looks shot now, He just can't stay healthy enough to play and lost his best quality, his mobility -
Wrong, He has a plan and has been sticking to it, its just one that isn't what the fans want/think he should be doing, and hasn't resulted in success as quickly as the fans wanted it. his plan all along has been to build a young team through the draft, he has said before to that he does not believe in bringing in a QB until the rest of the team is pretty much in place. They found their place holder (who at one point actually looked like an answer at QB) in Fitz and are now going after their QB. College football might be preparing these QBs to step in right away more now, but how many come in, impress at first and fizzle out?

Who says Ralph is Cheap, $10 an hour to help shovel snow from the stadium is going to cost way more then "Free Shovel Day December 30th at RWS" They could have gone cheap and given everyone a small snow shovel to shovel out your own seat. -
The actual rule of PI, and the yards given is fine The problem is with how/when its actually called on the field. They need to come up with better definitions of what is considered interference, and make it based on if the ball was catchable, although the more you make things "judgement calls", the more problems you run into) As for the defenceless WR calls, thats for player safety. Football maybe a tough/dangerous sport, but there has to be a line for players actual safety.

Vick is the best Pick
apuszczalowski replied to JimKelly4President's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Vick is the Best Pick, then I would just stick with what we have (and it has nothing to do with the off the field issues he served his sentence for) He has just been bad on the field and isn't going to do much to improve this team. He is an older mobile QB who without his mobility (which many players lose as they get older and take more hits) he is not good anymore. QBs like Vick (and I would say Newton and maybe RGIII) are good when they are young and can run to continue/make plays. As they age and continue to take hits, they become more injury prone and lose effectiveness. Bringing Vick in is just a bandaid for a season or 2, might as well keep the current bandaid Fitz in or let a rookie have the job In FA, the best pick is someone like Alex Smith, who has shown that with a good supporting cast he can keep the team in a game, or Joe Flacco if the Ravens stupidly let him walk -
Why have they not re-signed either yet? BECAUSE THERES STILL PLENTY OF TIME TO DO IT They still have both January, February, and almost half of March to Sign their own Free Agents (March 12th) The past few years, the Bills have been willing and able to sign their own FAs that they wanted back. This is also a 2 way street where the player also has to want to come back and re-sign here. Some may prefer to test their value on the market (Like Whitner). You can't force a player to re-sign here if they aren't a RFA (Rhinehart is)

Its more like Black Friday, with Canadians fighting for deals on the gifts they wanted and didn't getMost stores won't take returns on Boxing day, or for a few days after Christmas because they are too busy. Theres many different possible stories behind the meaning of boxing day, but for most, its an extra paid day off after Christmas
