  1. didn't the broncos did say IIRC that Brock would be starting week 16?
  2. you must not be watching the game, with the way they are playing I don't blame the fans, I believe they haven't secured a playoff spot yet, and they haven't scored any points in the second half the last few games so it's now or never.....
  3. you don't build an offence around him, at $3MIL you bring him in to be a complementary piece that hopefully can stay healthy. You build your receiving core around Watkins. Big question would be whether Harbin would consider coming back for that pay and accept a limited role to continue playing and stay healthy
  4. This move was a screw the Pats move. They cut him this week for the roster spot with the intent of re-signing him for this week and the playoffs. The bills claim him to fill the open WR job today and prevent the Pats from getting g back the guy they wanted with experience of their offence. They figured he would slip through waivers again because he almost made it through the last time he went through waivers from Atlanta to New England
  5. maybe the Jets will carry humid the field on their shoulders once they have officially clinched a playoff spot? Bills fans won't mind cause they will be distracted sitting in their seats arguing over how Fitz will screw things up and how the Bills are so much better then the playoff bound Jets......
  6. No a well run organisation/coaching staff wouldn't be forcing their system down players throats when it won't work, they play to their players strengths. BB and the Pats use their players to their strengths and adapt to the players they have. Rex tries to make square pegs fit into round holes, and when it doesn't work,he just keeps trying.... isn't this exactly what happened leading to him becoming a FA from the Texans? They tried to fit him out of his natural position and he looked bad and didn't play hard
  7. I would agree with people needing to "get a grip" if this team had just gone through the regular growing pains of a new coach, maybe only taking a small step back. But this team is in an even bigger mess now then last year and it's all gotten worse when things should be looking better. The one big bright spot (the defence) that should have allowed a new coach to have a huge jump-start in his first year is the biggest mess and is now going to involve off-season of overhauling the entire unit just so the coach can get it back to the level it was already back. This was uneccessary and only sets the franchise back. Rex is a cancer to the team and is only worth keeping if you enjoy a media circus to distract everyone from a horribly run team. The other thing people gave said about him that was supposed to be a positive is that he's a "players coach" yet it took him less than a season to lose half the players For once the people Calling for the coaches head after one season are"getting a grip" and would rather they bite the bullet now getting rid of Rex then wasting a few more seasons watching them build themselves into another hole causing them to go into another rebuild
  8. This is the issue with Rex and why it's better to say bye now then hope after a few years he can get the defence back to where it was when he took it over. If this really complicated defence that very few players have the ability to run it successfully is going to take an off-season or 2 of completely retooling a defence is going to get you to a place where you already where with the current players running a simpler defence, why change a thing? Is this complicated defence really that great or worth running if it means turning over half the players on The defence side of the roster?
  9. yeah, much better to waste a couple more seasons thinking he can turn this mess he created around then just admitting it was a mistake and move on before it becomes an even bigger mess. This isn't a situation where there were only a few growing pains that led to the Bills taking a small step back. The front office can right the wrong and bite the bullet by dumping him now and moving on
  10. I think that the entire coaching staff, even though it was only their first year has been a complete failure and it would not look as bad as people think if the front office were to admit their mistake and cut them loose before any more damage is done. This isn't because their W/L record, or not making the playoffs cause everyone should have expected some growing pains, but instead all we saw were questionable moves and play calling, in disciplined players (which is on the coaching staff), players under performing and vocally displaying their displeasure with the coaching staff way of running things. This team did not need wholesale changes to improve on last season, a few tweaks and moves, while leaving the defence to continue to do what it was going and they would be better. Instead they decided to try and fix something that wasn't broken and may now take years to fix it the way they want it which the end result will probably be just as good as it was when they took it over which seems like change for the sake of change. They can bite the bullet now, admit the mistake, and clean house giving them a chance to salvage what they have, or give them another year or 2 allowing them to dismantle things and leave a bigger mess for the next guy to clean up still making them look just as foolish as if they cut bait now but not wasting more years. As for Whaley, I don't think the guy is anything special,or better then average. He isn't bad, but he's also not amazing, he is replaceable. But if it's between him and the coaching staff,I'd take him anyway over Rex. My big concern with Whaley comes from the fact that this is now the second coaching staff he's had that there are reports of a disconnect between him and them, where it appears he wants the coaches to fit there systems around the guys he gets for them, instead of him obtaining guys that fit their system. The GM is like the manager of the restaurant, make sure everything is running smoothly and obtain what the chefs (coaches) need to make their food the best they know how. The manager shouldn't be buying ingredients and telling the chef how to make the food using what they think they need. They need to get the ingredients the chef tells them they need to make it properly. I think the hiring of Rex was an error on the owners and front office who fell for his talk and the media attention he would bring to the team. They liked the attention they would get from him being here and fell for the idea that he was much sought after by others when now it appears Buffalo was the only one who wanted him. Other teams interviewed him, but it appears no one had him as their top pick. The Bills were in a situation that was a little different where they didn't need a full rebuild and at the HC position they just needed some who would come in and let the current defensive staff continue to run things while taking control of the offence themselves.
  11. I'm not sure why people keep thinking everything will be better if the Bills bring him in as a Head coach when he was only a successful co-ordinator. Bring him back under an upgraded head coach to run the defence, sure, but as a Head coach who would have his hands in the defence with a puppet co-ordinator? no thanks. His run as Bills defensive co-ordinator was great, but he didn't do anything to make it believable that he would be any more successful as a Head coach then he was in Detroit. Fire Rex, do whatever with Whaley, just this time do a little more research into who you chose as a Head coach and what their intentions are for the coaching staff. Also make sure the coach is in line with using the players currently on the team to their strengths rather then trying ot make them fit a scheme that they aren't suited for or having to get rid of half the talented players on this roster to try and find new talented players who fit the coaches new scheme
  12. what about Marv?Heck, get a wiji board and check what Lombardi is up to....
  13. Yeah, wouldn't argue about Berry or Palmer. Either would be worthy, although it would almost always go to the guy with cancer because it's cancer even though it may have been harder for a player to come back and play at a high level from a serious injury
  14. personally, my choice for an award would be that it should go to the player who came back from missing time from injury, not because of a suspension for beating his kid. But that's only my opinion....
  15. enough with Schwartz as head coach, he was horrible at it the last go around. What they should have done was picked a HC who wanted to keep Schwartz as his DC and would work to fix what was broken, the offence. Some guys are better at being coordinators then they are at being HIs, and Schwartz appears to be one of them
  16. I don't think that Whaley is irreplaceable, but if it between him and Rex "shortbus" Ryan, I'm keeping Whaley and hoping Pegula uses the loss however many millions he would owe Rex as a learning experience to do a better job at finding a competent coaching staff.
  17. that's how I could understand another team, like say the 49ers or Falcons hiring him since they don't get to see him often compared to the Bills who played him twice a year as a division rival.
  18. and yet he has still shown more then the dumpster fire that's been EJ Manuel. I don't think there is a team in this league that would pick EJ over Taylor
  19. Yup, next game against the redskins Thurman will know what to do.....
  20. you would think that this organisation, after having a front row seat watching Rexs circus in New York, would have stayed far away from that dumpster fire instead of taking the battered girlfriend approach thinking they can change him if given the chance
  21. anyone who has watched EJ play is about 100% sure
  22. that's too bad cause it sounds like Terry is planning on keeping them around...... I don't think Whaley is 'elite' when it comes to front office guys, but if it's down to him or the coaches, I'm taking him 99.9% over giving Rex any more time with this team. He might be one of the only coaches in this league that could be handed a top 10 defence and decide to screw it up cause it's not his defence. The only thing that will make the Bills organisation look more inept then firing a high profile coach in his first season with them would be watching this season and not firing him after what he has done. He is making this entire organisation look like even more of a joke
  23. The biggest difference right now between these teams, the Jets are beating teams they are supposed to beat and the Bills are looking like jokes against the ones they should win. Try to justify/rationalize the wins all you want, they don't make the schedule, they are just doing what they have to do while the Bills are doing their best to take themselves out of it.
  24. can you explain exactly how McCoy has set this team back at all? That has to be one of the dumbest things I've heard in here....
  25. Can we draft or pick up in FA a new competent coaching staff?
