  1. should not surprise anyone. i mean, he had athletic traits out of control since the day we drafted him, and has had flashes but is simply not very productive. that more or less leaves his mentality/brains.
  2. what's with the frazier ball washing here? the bills dump tons of resources into the D, so of course they are going to have an at least good D. it's not like he took 11 UDFA and made them world beaters. Generally good regular season rankings coupled with horrible lapses to end the past 3 seasons while our O has been en fuego w allen means he's just not good enough, and that's why he got thrown out the door. he gets the guys (very well paid highly drafted guys, no less) well prepared to play on game day, but never adjusts and is predictable.
  3. i don't get some of the comments here -- the bills O was much more consistent especially running the ball at the end of 2022 than 2021. we were crazy up and down in 2021, we just had two super hot performances by allen in the playoffs, and i think if we beat KC in that game w win the chip (sad). we were more effective running under dorsey with nearly no net difference in results and that's why our record was better. we were 7-6 at one point in 2021, and we had some stinkers on o even late in the year. the moves might not work out, the coaches might not be as good as i think they can be, guys could get injured, etc etc, but the direction of travel is obvious: we added OL talent, we added pass catchers, and we added big strong thumping RBs. this team wants to run the EP offense to perfection, and that includes two TE sets, running to hold the lead and demoralize, and using match ups and play calling to exploit mismatches. i have no doubt we will see hero ball from josh, and that he will be the whole team at least some of the time, and obv he's gonna put up all timer highlights, but mcd wants to attack more on D and frustrate and grind out opponents more on O. I for one think the experiment will work soundly.
  4. honestly -- i heard JK say that and i figured he was just a bit old school. then after reams of offseason data, analysis, and the above OP, it's pretty flipping clear we simply don't run the ball well enough, especially late in the year/playoffs. allen is the entire team way way way too often. if nothing changes on O except we bridge the gap in terms of RB production between us and KC as shown above in this thread, that puts us pretty strongly on a super bowl run.

him having (evidently what we know now as consensual) ***** with this woman/girl who was under 18 (not sure on the legality of that given the situation where they were, but it's not age of majority so it's gonna get some concern) who he didn't have (im presuming but cmon) any kind of meaningful relationship with is what got the bills to cut ties w him, IMO. in a fair world, they'd pay him a bunch of money he missed out on, and he'd got another punting job in the NFL, not sure if that happens in ours tho. there was a guy who played at or was recruited by USC (banks i think?) as an LB. he went to prison being falsely accused of the same crime, insanely got the woman to admit she made it up for money (law suit i think) and recorded it and got out. If that were the subject of a film, i'd find it contrived and far fetched. anyhow, i kinda knew that guy, he lived in my building (same floor) and we worked out together (same schedule, not planned). I never asked him about it, only found out about it when mentioning it to a buddy of mine who follows college football more closely than i do. anyhow, that dude mentioned to me because he as well had ***** with the woman in question, he became he said she said and he got railroaded. totally not fair (obv) but from the Bills perspective, if they both admit they did the deed and it's an argument around the circumstances involved, it's not easy to defend. cynical, but practical.
  6. if he and mcgovern show out, and brown is healthy, that's potentially 3 of 5 positions improved on the oline, w the other two being our by far best lineman holding it together for another season. it could fail, but i really think the bills FO are addressing our issues (offensive weapons, blocking especially interior, d coaching/mindset). given our cap and such we basically need the majority of our FA signings and picks to hit this year tho, so it's gonna fall on the coaches.
  7. as im sure many of you know, AI isn't intelligence of any kind but simply Statistics applied to lots of things. what i like about this, or the drake AI song that got put on spotify, is how indistinguishable these things are from the corporate gobblygook that we are constantly force fed. Literally mathematical proof that the execs, creatives, and corporate warriors in all of these places can be replaced with a common implementation of basic "AI" because they really are just parrots and empty cyphering brown nosers.
  8. i care much much less about uniforms and such than most here it seems (the color of the collar or how long a stripe continues on the pants or whatever that gets people going, i dont even notice that stuff) -- but the identity of our 2ks drought and that awful awful uniform will forever be etched into my soul. as long as whatever we trot out in no way shape or form approaches those, i am fully supportive of it.
  9. I know he's not technically involved in that organization, but I strongly suspect Andy Reid was popping pills and smashing lean w this guy while giving him dubious life advice.
  10. we got bigger on both lines over the past two offseasons. we ran w rbs more consistently last year, and our run d was better than prior. I think this is the final form for what mcd wants, the ability to go toe to toe as well as razzle dazzle.
  11. This guy and kincaid are both long large guys w really soft hands. that's something that we have totally been missing (that i thought we'd get from trading for dhop). the two things we lacked on o last year (this is aside from just poor blocking when our line broke down because that doesn't need mentioning) was burner speed on O and big targets who can catch. we've addressed all of those needs, so it's a matter of these picks and signings hitting as well as dorsey putting it all together.
  12. based on how much our late and udfa dbs have contributed, this kid is a mid season starter lock!
  13. i suppose, but if they signed a real stud, who gets bumped? i get that the marginal players we signed can all just get cut or whatever, but w RBs, TEs, and a small splash of new WR talent (better than the literal retired retreads we had last season) it looks like the entire O is better, skill positions and blocking. that said, would love to see hopkins come in and put us over the top.
  14. in the playoff loss to cinci, the fourth loss on the entire season, we got pushed around and abused w a big back blasting up the middle and efficient passing scored quickly on us. going the other way, we had trash blocking and only one WR showed up to play and the wheels straight fell off. now, at the end of the season, we will be able to line up Dawkins, Mcgov, morse, torrence, brown (with a healed back) and two tight ends in kinkaid and knox, and any combo of josh allen, Diggs and and other WR, and one of our now 4 backs. I think we now have a package to pass or power run out of and dictate to the D without over committing before the snap. we simply didn't have this arrow in the quiver last season. after watching saffold physically give up on plays i'll take anyone on our roster who can play G over him. we talked about how we need more blocking to get our RBs to produce, well now we have that and some new bigger RBs who can push the pile. allen and diggs along w that is a scary sight
  15. i think it's pretty clear w mcd taking over the d and the success we've had w milano he wanted an athletic heat seeking missile who he could coach up. when it's at it's best, the mcd d is always guys just screaming toward the ball borderline over playing their lanes and the back 4-6 erasing long stuff but attacking quickly when they recognize what is in front of them. this guy might bust out or not, but he'll learn under mc d directly, and milano always plays like his hair is on fire, so Williams won't be confused as to what his play style will be. I think he might be an effective starter by the end of the season. that's a huge win vs paying edmunds nearly 20mm a year.
  16. i think they will grab the highest rated guy they have who plays OL/LB/DT, in that order of priority
  17. we run an EP offense, which is match up and Tight end heavy by design. Not having any TEs is what i think made us just not run two TE sets that much last year, and we had the number 2 O and were more consistent than the year before, w a better regular season record and the same results in the playoffs. i fully expect our new TE to get solid burn and for us to show more 2 TE sets, as well as take advantage of match ups much more in general
  18. i think getting rid of greg roman is gonna prove to be a big mistake for the team. I could see jackson getting some stats w obj there, but i think they will not be as good of an o without greg to run it.
  19. we need to add WR talent from last year, and we have added a little, but i think WRs are the new left tackles in the blind side era whereby they were over valued and more so over drafted. there were so many busts and jags drafted high at LT for a few years (remember that guy from baylor who went top 3 and got traded to the jets for a song?). the difference is it's really hard to find a guy who can just actually play LT in the NFL, only so many big guys, so people get desperate and draft fat slugs high who can't play at all. with WRs, it can be hard to evaluate just how good a guy is. bad qb play makes him look worse, bad scheme for him, or on the flip side having great guys around him makes him look better.
  20. i voted no, but i think this thread convinced me to say yes. i really would rather a 4 and 5 or a 3rd, but if push came to shove and zona picked up a chunk of his pay, i'd do it for a second. if we can get any better play out of OG/OT (new signings and maybe a pick or a healthy brown would help a lot) cook diggs hopkins knox and anyone else is death sentence to the D w allen throwing the ball
  21. i was wondering if this was a joke or a fishing attempt. New england, who ran the same general system (erhardt perkins) built their 18 year dynasty with a large dose of two tight ends. we don't have to trot out the ghosts of graham and watson next season, but a big part of the EP offense is match up problems. having a two tight end set w some of the weapons we have and allen can be a huge match up nightmare for opponents, so ya i think we absolutely could run more heavy 2 te sets and pass or run out of it. it would also be a big help w blocking and in the red zone. it doesnt' have to be half our snaps, but we currently don't have two nfl TEs on our roster, so adding one makes two TE sets something we can add.
  22. pretty sure he was a big hero of allens gorwing up. extra motivation. i like it!
  23. i am surprised at how bad AJ and Dawkin's physiques look. from what i've heard on podcasts and such, NFL teams are pretty hands off when it comes to player nutrition, supplements, and training. they give a lot of leeway during the year, and are totally absent in the offseason. I think there is some low hanging fruit there and if a team can get a handle on that they can get ahead of the game.
  24. just saying that, he's done. sad thing is, he's gonna get his bell rung again but good, and then he's forced to make the decision he shoulda done before.
  25. well, the bills will have like what, 5 of those non sunday 1/4 games then? and this won't get me playoff games either. meh.
