  1. PTR, it goes even further: They can eliminate penalties for violations, or even eliminate it as a violation to begin with. kas23, It's not "going against the federal government" because it is not the NFL's job to enforce federal laws. The NFL doesn't have to do any drug testing; it chooses to.
  2. Which Spikes? (Brandon? Takeo?) And again, I would have preferred Nix.
  3. Was Nix still available? Because the Bills needed a backup DT well before a backup LB.
  4. How many mock drafts do you need? There are hockey playoffs going on. I'm sure if the Bills make a trade, they will break in. Other than that, just what do you expect to be said between ten and noon that wasn't said between six and ten or won't be said between noon and eight?
  5. No. It's a minor-league atmosphere out there in Amherst.
  6. Jemele Hill irritates the hell out of me, and I have no idea who Kara Lawson is, but if we're nominating good sportswriters who are women, I'll chip in with our local Amy Moritz. And Lori sure knows her football. She's not here anymore, but she is on twitter at @LChase_RA.
  7. STFU, have another Genny in your screened-in garage and relax.
  8. That site is more infected than she is.
  9. But it pays Goodell first. He does work for a tax-exempt organization. The whole USA is corporate welfare!
  10. On your first point, sure, but we live in a deregulated capitalist economy. That's how it works. There are other systems out there, but most people would deem them to be too "liberal" or "Euro." On your second, it's old news that big companies find a way to avoid paying federal corporate income taxes while simultaneously demanding infrastructure, property tax and state tax breaks, etc. E.g., Apple. We can torch and pitchfork Harvey Weinstein, Dr. Dre, and Alex Rodriguez, too, I suppose, but in our system, you don't get what you deserve, you get what you're able to convince others to pay you.
  11. 1. Your comment regarding Sam is just so, so stupid and hateful. You are now the inaugural member of my ignore list. 2. You could have started an interesting discussion on whether Goodell does enough to control players, or whether there is a criminal subculture in the NFL. You didn't. 3. What do you think CEOs of billion-dollar companies make? Yes, it's more than the President. EDIT: punctuation.
  12. He doesn't want to play football anymore.
  13. Thomas had 135 yards rushing and 55 receiving. He was hardly forgotten.
  14. Lee or Mack for me.
  15. I can get behind spending a third round pick on the guy.
  16. So why the !@#$ wasn't it merged or, worse, given the death by "this topic is currently..." (Which I hate, because they never tell you which thread to go to to discuss it)?
  17. No, just move the hashmarks to where they belong. And wasn't this discussed last week with a whole thread devoted to it?
  18. 4th round pick, IIRC. EDIT: 2011 4th round pick (Chris Hairston) and 2012 5th round pick (Tank Carder).
  19. I don't want him at #1. I don't want him at #9. I don't want him period.
  20. He also has no reason to lie. In fact, if he wants an NFL job, his best play was to stay quiet about it, and not to bring it up.
  21. The "losing touch" extends beyond pricing. The restrictions on what can go in and out of a stadium are ridiculous. -2, and I have to worry about whether my handwarmer is allowed? Is my belt buckle within the size limitations? Oh, I can't bring in a heated seat cushion? The stadium experience isn't wonderful, either, when your ears are assaulted with generic music in between every play, etc. There are lots of reasons to stay away, unfortunately.
  22. Lori, Fezmid, and, for comedic effect, Skooby.
  23. Well, that was stupid.
  24. The Chargers?!
