I recently read the Buffalo News stories about Niagara Falls HS and Sweet Home HS playing (and unfortnately losing ) in the NYState boys basketball state championships. BTW congrats to those kids...To make it to the state championships is a great accomplishment... But what struck me odd about the story was the reported attendance... NFHS game was reported at ~ 2000, while the SWHS game was reported at ~1500... The Glen Falls Arena seats approx 5500 and I am amazed these seats were not filled..... Why such low attendance ?? The WVHS boys championships recently concluded and 66,000 tickets were sold... 6 games Wed, 6 games Thurs, 6 on Friday and the 3 championships were Sat...

Such language young lady...I am shocked GO WVU !!!

I watch it too CL... ( Mrs. Lew too) and last nights episode was pretty good..The pace picked up from some of the middle shows which d r a g g e d on and on...

I can remember when phone numbers included letters.... i.e. Numbers in Lewiston were PL4-####.... I love the commercial where the parents show their boys a typewriter and the kids ask , "Where's the SEND button...?" and now ATT and BellSouth are gonna merge in a $67Billion deal...

I'll be right there with ya Pete...The Women's Worl Cup matches I have attended were great, I can imagine how the men's matches would be..

Group tickets can be fun... We would print a giant grid of the numbers we had,, then laugh and / or cry when only 2 out of the whole batch were chosen...This was years ago when we had several peeps to pitch in...Now there are not that many co-workers as the ranks have been thinned....

Sick days...for the salaried workers (moi), there is no set number of days, ( and we would still get paid) ,,,BUT abusing the process would cause a problem...The union / hourly workers don't get paid for days called in sick.... Any 3 straight days off requires a Doctors note before returning to work... No personal days, but the 5 weeks of vacation I get can be taken in weeks or days or even half days if needed... Like Rockpile, my company was recently sold and I lost a week of vacation and the old company is withholding the vacation pay for the salary group..So I am awating a 6 week vacation paycheck from the old company....bastids

Rockpile "Hell, I still wear Bills stuff to work, but I am about the only one!" Hey Rock. I still wear Bills stuff to work ALL the time...even to WVU games !!! My memory of that SuperBowl was that Beebe's play cost me $200... At work we did a "grid" and I had Dallas 9,,Buff 7 at the end of the 4th QTR... Assuming Lett scores and the PAT is good, the score wudda been 59-17 and my 9---7 would have won...But I am glad that Beebe made that play...epitomizes the true heart of those great Bills teams..

Blood donations >>> Yup...The next donation I'll hit the 13 gallon mark... I am lucky in that I have great veins and the Red Cross calls a lot since I have O neg...... In Ohio, the local paper would put your picture in the paper with a quote why you donated...Everyone said "I donate to help people" and crap like that....When it was my turn, I told the reporter "I donated 'cause I liked NEEDLES"....Needless to say 'they' kicked that one ...

The "next" LeBron James is a kid named O J Mayo who plays at North College Hill HS near Cincy....I saw him play Sat. night and WOW... He and Bill Walker are both Juniors...

I, too, have Charter...When I called, it was explained that the NFL Network desired to be placed in a lower channel number, not in the 300's like it was here..I wudda paid extra to have NFLN in the lower numbers instead of some sterling channel like LifeTime or the equally hideous ShopNBC or any of the other useless shopping channels..

I take my dog on rides around town, too...Window down, nose and head sticking out the window enjoying the wind......( the dog, not me .....LOL ) At the bank drive in window, the ladies will make a big fuss and the dog will get a treat as I collect my meager deposit slip....

I agree with ya 100%.... Those three shows are great IMHO...

My memory of that day was Las Vegas. We were in LV that weekend and watched the game at the Caesar's Palace Sport book...There were many seats taken by wearers of silver and black..I got there just at kickoff and met some nice Bills fans from Rochester...At half time there were a LOT of empty seats and we celebrated with many beverages... Mrs Lew won a nice jackpot at the dollar slots too YAY !

A friend of mine played for a high school football team called "the Dots" and then played for the U of Hawaii and was a "Rainbow". Did your friend play at Poca HS in WV,,,,,??? North of Charleston there is a town called POCA and the HS nick name is "Dots" I am partial to the Lansing Lug Nutz too...One of the best small baseball parks I have ever been to
