  1. We were supposed to leave for Aruba three weeks from today. Oh and I’m low on whiskey.
  2. I dunno, I think I take Diggs any day of the week. Granted, I’ve been drinking bourbon for hours so judgment may be a bit off (as opposed to normal circumstances...?)
  3. Yep. You don’t have to always agree with his takes but you can tell he at least does his homework and has some backup for his opinions. The other guys, sometimes not so much.
  4. I think it was 5....One of the most brutal losses I’ve attended. Obviously many to choose from. This years playoff loss probably tops them all though.
  5. I started with an Irish coffee around 9 am. Had a mix of stuff throughout the day. After dinner, we watched a movie down in the basement on the projector. In the 10 min between going up to put the little guy to bed and getting back down to the basement, it flooded. Had a brief but very strong T storm which washed some mulch down over a retaining wall and into the area right outside the walk out door of the basement, clogging the drain. Water was pouring in through the door seams. This happened once before (much worse) about a year and a half ago so I check that drain religiously. Was totally clear earlier today. We had 3 in of rain overnights at thurs and not a drop. Luckily the area that got wet is all tile and it only got up against the carpet maybe 2-3 feet. Needless to say I just poured a large bourbon on the rocks...
  6. I typically don’t drink during the week at all, but will indulge on the weekends. With all this going on, my wife is super busy with work and is basically holed up in the home office all day long. I’m not, Ive probably “worked” about 3 hours in a week. So I’ve pretty much had the full dose of wrangling the 3 year old all day for the last week. I haven’t missed a day of drinking yet.
  7. People have a hard time comprehending that the Pegulas owning businesses and having employees isn’t the equivalent of being parents and giving allowance to your kids. Especially when you have the kind of coin they do, just the business / corporate structure alone is extremely complicated. It’s not as easy as just opening the checkbook. There are policies, procedures & laws they have to follow. If these were truly horrible people with no morals, we wouldn’t be having the discussion because 716, the Bills, the Sabres, and a whole bunch more wouldn’t exist. It’s easy to throw rocks when you don’t have all the details and just read the cliff notes of some ***** stirring article by another buffalo media hack.
  8. I feel like Ohio has done a very good job overall during this crisis. There’s a lot of really smart people at the state trying to come up with solutions to everything that comes with this (My wife is one of them, she’s an attorney that does labor & employment law / policy writing for the state). Needless to say she’s been a bit busy this week, as they help sort out policy and issue guidance to all the different state agencies employing thousands of people. I was a skeptic initially on the seriousness of the whole thing but I’ve done a pretty big 180. It does give me hope though to see so many gifted people come together for a common cause. Just wish more of the naysayers out there would come on board and realize how serious this all is.
  9. I don’t totally disagree with your point but that’s a pretty blanket statement to make in this situation.
  10. The article conveniently glosses over the fact that a lot of the workers are employees of whoever has the contract with PSE. So most likely subject to that employers policies. Sure PSE is cutting the checks to the contractor but they may not even have the authority to just arbitrarily make policy to people that aren’t technically their employees. Hard to pass judgment without knowing the details but certainly written so that people get the pitchforks out. As with most things, not as simple as it seems on the surface.
  11. I mean, to be fair I don’t think there’s a lot of employers out there that are going to pay their employees for work not performed (mine included). Reeks of typical buffalo media muckraking.
  12. Had some friends up there this weekend. Was in Colorado mid Feb and wasn’t expecting that to be our last time out this year, but it’s certainly looking that way ?
  13. We’re supposed to go on 4/26. Not holding out much hope it will happen but it’s all booked on Marriott / southwest points anyways so no reason to cancel yet.
  14. Would absolutely love Dobbins in the 2nd. Don’t think he’ll be there though.
  15. I’d say it’s likely he doesn’t even make the team. Nothing to see here.
  16. Well number 2 kicked my ass but I got my first hole in one on #1 of the cradle! Pinehurst is pretty awesome. #4 tomorrow, should be fun.
