  1. While I agree with your sentiments, keep in mind that Reagan was beginning to suffer from Alzheimer's at that age and that his wife and cabinet ran things during the last years of his presidency.
  2. Adam, TD has had five years and in today's NFL that is an eternity. WGR (spec. Mike and the Bulldog) did not condone the call made, but did say it was the fan's right to wonder aloud whether TD should step down immediately. As far as TD and his job security. Barely making the playoff used to be unacceptable for this franchise - now people would beg for that. This franchise was once a place where free agents hoped to come, not a place they avoided like the plague. I liken these five years to the presidency of George W. Bush - the damage is uncalcuable and our standing in the NFL has declined sharply. Wilson needs to find to make a good hire at the top (GM) and bring an established football mind to turn things around (i.e. see Marv Levy and Chuck Knox). As has been said before, Adam take out the rose-colored glass and wake up!
  3. Charlie Weis - I am sure he has an out clause in his new ND contract - but you would have to pay a crapload of $$$. If not, a few serious musings ... - Dick LeBeau (he never had support as head coach of Cincy) - Bobby Ross (had strong years in San Diego for awhile) - Ted Cottrell (never got his due) - Jim Haslett (have a feeling he is done in N.O. and would be fired up to return home) - Brian Billick (refreshed from a new start?) If not, a few not-so-serious musings ... - Kay Stephenson - Hank Bullough - Conrad Dobler (at least no one would kick our ass) - JoePa - John Madden - Rich Kotite - Dave Wannestadt - Gerry Faust - Bob Davie - Dave Chappelle (at least press conferences would be fun - if he showed up) - Andrew Dice Clay ("All the Bills blew - Hey, they needed the money" Oh) you get the idea!
  4. Yes, so he can fire up a stogie after every win!
  5. great question ... Start with Tom Donahoe - it has to start and end there. Bring in a GM and coach tandem ... one that is not threatened by each other's presence (i.e. see Bellichick & Pioli) who leaves ... - Trey Teague - Bennie Anderson - Chris Villarial (good passion, but over the hill) - our tight ends (all of them) - all runners, but McGahee and Shelton - Eric Moulds - Josh Reed - Sam Adams - Jeff Posey - Troy Vincent - Lawyer Milloy - Nate Clements The only coaches I would keep is Bobby April and McNally (I still believe is his ability with the right players) - I would look to invest heavily in both lines - use Crowell on full-time basis and try to acquire some secondary help Offensively, I would PRAY
  6. Rob, I can't say that I agree with everything surrounding this war, but I just wanted to say ... thank you. Thank you for fighting for the ideals that this nation was founded on. Thank you for fighting to protect my wife, Nicole, our daughter, Alina, and our little boy, Jack. Thank you for doing your best to bring some sense of freedom to a region that has little experience with democracy but includes many men, women, and children that desperately want to experience it. Simply, thank you and God be with you. Michael from Wheatfield
  7. That is one of the funniest things I have ever read on here
  8. Sir Thomas More? Booker Moore? Roger Moore? Mewelde ... who?
  9. Is this two bills drive or the website for Tolstoy's War & Peace
  10. I like Vanek, too and I am a big fan of Drury and Briere, etc. However, I still question Regier's "hockey smarts" - I think Muckler was a much better assessor of talent - and he has zero personality when dealing with the public (always reminds me of someone who has sucked on too many lemons). The real scare is Lindy Ruff - he has been here far too long and I don't think he relates real well to the current crop of players and young players in general. I didn't like him as a player and I can't stand him as a coach.
  11. I think the Bills win - especially with Vick knicked up ... Bills 21 - 13
  12. I just moved back to WNY from Binghamton and better food was one of the reasons - that and my son, Jack, needed to grow 1) as a Bills fan, 2) in the city of Good Neighbors, 3) with the best pizza, weck, and wings in the nation. My choice for best pizza ... Pizza Junction in North Tonawanda - their sheet pizza weighs a ton ... never, and I mean never, order double cheese!
  13. France ??? Oh great ... another player that will raise the white flag and surrender when the going gets rough!
  14. As Vince McMahon would say, ... "This is the XFL" And if that doesn't work out - the USFL
  15. Dear Penn, Buffalo waterfront has a few nice spots. We live in a suburb of Niagara Falls and there is the new casino "Seneca Niagara" there. If you gamble, it is terrific but even if not, the buffet there is worth the trip. Another great spot is just across the border - Niagara-on-the-Lake ... has a lot of local wineries and if you are into theatre there is the shaw festival. On the American side, Youngstown is home to Olde Fort Niagara and there is a War of 1812 festival coming up. Lewiston, will have a terrific Peach Festival in early September. Just get the Buffalo News Gusto (or look at Buffalonews.com) to look at activities ahead - it is usually publishedin Thursday or Friday editions. Good luck!
  16. Dear Stuck, My family and I moved back to Western NY from Binghamton NY two weeks ago, so I know of some of the issues you are dealing with. We felt it was the right move with raising our little boy - the Niagara Frontier is one of the best areas in the nation for families and was recently rated number #1 in the nation for affordable homes and interest rates. We ar e thrilled to be back. In terms of land with septic or well .... you might try Youngstown, Wilson, Newfane or Olcott ... all have land available that would suit your desires and they are located on either the Niagara River or Lake Ontario and it is absolutely gorgeous! Best of luck!
  17. Plenzmd1, You forgot to mention ... JP: How is JStu? Rome: He's Mr. Automatic JP: So I hear. Hey, and when is that USA movie, "Murder at the Presidio" on again? Rome: Dude, do you know he has a SAG card? Anyhow, how do you live with those Rob Johnson comparisons - he was my boy you know? JP: Well, as long as I've got some nice tasty waves and a cool buzz, I'll be just fine (doing his best Jeff Spicolli). Honestly, there is no four foot midget here now to screw things up. Rome: Well, I'd rather have a big Johnson than a small Flutie anyday. JP: Say hello to Terence in Sierra Madre for me and John in C-Town ... "Lunch with the Monkey" Rome: Rack Him! Out!
  18. Whale watching is always cool - but plan on being gone most of the day - also, hit Salem to see the witch museums (it is also representative of old New England fishing villages) and head out to Plymouth to see Plymouth Plantation, the Ocean Spray cranberry factory and the "rock" (pretty good seafood places in Plymouth also).
  19. Offense - Jim Kelly ... remember 1985, things changed the day he took the field Defense - Darryl Talley ... big game player Special Teams - Steve Tasker ... small player, big heart (Addition) - Best Coach - Hank Bullough, err, no that the worst - Chuck Knox (apologies to Marv, but I believe with a different staff and more disciplined players - i.e. drinking to all hours Super Bowl week - we'd have won the bowl)
  20. Drew may have locked onto Moulds early in the season, but they had a history and Evans was a rookie that Bledsoe had to grow confident of throwing to. By midseason, drew was slinging it pretty good to Evans and he had a heck of a rookie season. I am excited by the possibilities JP holds with his arm and especially his legs, but Drew was a part of this franchise when we really needed him and he did get Buffalo excited again. Lets just hope JP takes it to the next level.
  21. Anytime the Boss plays Buffalo it will be relevant. I currently living in the armpit of New York that is Binghamton (moving back at end of July) and the best concerts they have booked is Jean Luc Ponty and Twisted Sister. I'll take the Boss at HSBC any day.
  22. Well, we need a LT in the worst way now, so Will Wolford and like him or leave him, you need to get pressure on the QB - so Bruce Smith
  23. Good choice ... he may be a little too wiry, but I bet he kicks out and pulls like a mother! And hey, they'd save money on the uniform ... just a replaceable diaper after each game
