  1. Agreed on Torrence. He doesnt fit our OL or Offense. I think we'd pass on him even if he was sitting there at 27. And from a guy who desperately wanted Linderbaum and/or Humphrey, I'd be fine with it. If that were the case, would rather go skill position at 27 and get OGs in the 2nd/3rd.
  2. Bills fans sound exactly like Chiefs fans, and not as bad as Bengals and Eagles fans who watched their "runner up" teams get decimated by Free Agency. The Bengals and Eagles would love to be in the Bills position of "retaining our own 'garbage'". Could be far worse. This is simply life at the top. It's understandable Bills fans arent used to it and dont know how to deal with it. Even if we had the cash, we could "win the offseason", like the Bears and Falcons (who stink) or the Dolphins (who win the offseason every year, become the media darlings, and then go 9-7).
  3. Cheap and easy to find. If #2 RB is one of our biggest concerns, then we are doing pretty well. I know it isnt the top need, and there are a handful of others. But ILB, OG, RB2, and WR2 are all pretty low value positions across the league (maybe not WR2, depending). Could have far worse holes to fill.
  4. That was always a silly valuation, which is becoming more and more common for Spotrac lately. Almost becoming the Zillow of sports. Only 1 guy in the top-20 paid Safeties is over 30, and he (Harrison Smith) just had to renegotiate to a 1 yr deal so he wasnt cut.
  5. Oh, I see. Report the posts then, and take your temper tantrum to PPP.
  6. Yeah man, I'm not trying to give him $10M/yr, although i think vet min is equally unlikely. But if we can get him on like 2/$10M fully guaranteed. Or 3/$15M fully guaranteed with the 3rd year being void. Then why not?
  7. Well he was their starting OG and Zeke runs inside. So if he is so poor in run blocking, it must mean Zeke can still contribute himself. Problem solved.
  8. "Aggressive" in Free Agency usually means desperate and previously-low-talent with no big spends and lots of cap room, so willing to overspend on players who will never live up to the contract. See: Da Bears, and the Falcons. Plenty of time and opportunity to cover those needs. I wouldnt call any of them premium positions. Except maybe DE, but we've made enough investment there already. Time for one (or more) of the kids to step up.
  9. We dont need burst from Zeke. That is what James Cook, who will be getting the majority of carries, is for. We need Zeke for short yardage, or when we get inside the 5 yard line. He still has enough power, and his top-level instincts and vision, to find the right opening and power through for the TD. Even being worn down, he had as many rushing TDs last year (12) as Josh (7) and Singletary (5) combined. Need him to compliment Cook like he did Pollard.
  10. We're talking about filling the #2/#3 RB spot. No need to rush into a desperate deal for 2nd level positions. It'll be fine. My sights are set on Zeke.
  11. I think the level of play we saw from our backup Safeties after being thrust into the starting lineup absolutely makes Safety a position of HIGH need. Especially with what we saw out of Johnson after 4 years in the system. Glad to hear he is a UFA and likely wont be brought back. I could see McBeane say "Well the late round, developmental approach failed. And we only have like 1 more year with our current All-Pro starters. Time to grab Antonio Johnson or Jordan Battle in the 1st or 2nd".
  12. This probably couldnt be added to any real Mt Rushmore given the circumstances, but The Cosby Show absolutely deserves serious consideration if it wasnt for, well... decades of drug-induced rape. But as a show, and for the rest of that cast, it was such an amazing, important show. Plus it was hilarious.
  13. Oh man, it's such a great show. Tough to binge since they can be very abrasive. A lot of yelling. Keep in mind the other option for the show's name was simply "Jerks". I really enjoy and respect the show because it was created, written, and produced by the main cast. Rob Mcelhenney (Mac) created the concept, and his friends Glenn Howerton (Dennis) and Charlie Day (Charlie) all wrote and produced it together. As in, for the first few seasons if one of them isnt in a scene, they are literally holding the camera shooting it all themselves. Then once they got rolling, signed on a few awesome directors such as Fred Savage, Jerry Levine (Face in Teen Wolf), and Matt Shakman. With Shakman going on to become now one of the greatest directors in TV (The Boys, WandaVision, Game of Thrones, etc). The first season is good, but totally unlike the rest of the show. They were still hashing out the characters, still feeling out how far they could push things, etc. Once Danny Devito joins the cast in Season 2 it really takes off. Seasons 3-6 might be some of the best TV ever created, especially season 5. Point being, if you start with season 1 and it seems blah, just jump to season 2. Although there are some things that get setup in season 1 that play out through the entire 15 seasons (ex: the McPoyle brothers). It is episodic tho, not serialized, so you can pretty much jump in anywhere.
  14. Most of the conversation between us amateurs has been around a simple "27th overall for Jeudy" deal. Would you do that?
  15. Yeah, I hear that. I'm half hoping Zeke knows he pulled a huge fast one on the NFL getting that last $70M (good for him) and is ok making only another $10M more over the next couple of years. Hey, a guy can dream.
  16. Yep. If Jeudy stays in Denver, then I'll assume nothing we could do. If Jeudy goes to the Pats for a 3rd, then I'll be angry.
  17. Yeah, given the talent that is expected to be at 27 in this draft, swapping that pick for Jeudy is a no-brainer. I'm just not convinced Denver is really looking to trade him.
  18. I have a feeling if we do go D at 27, it will be because Antonio Johnson is still there. And they'll say he was BPA. Which is probably all true. But man...
  19. I dont disagree with you philosophically. That is what every team SHOULD do. Just saying, they dont. And expecting them to doesnt give us much conversation here. Unless you can tell me who you think the BPA at 27 will be. And if you are fine taking a RB, CB, TE there if so. You mean Kalil Mack. Donald wasnt on anyones radar as BPA that draft or he wouldve gone at #2 overall.
  20. Pollard didnt do much better over that same window, but we know he's a feature back. Sounds like a team issue that was going through some challenges. Which we know they were. Throwing out a single vague stat that the whole team plays into doesnt tell us much. Look at the whole body of work and when he was most effective. Short yardage and/or goal line situations. Where have the Bills struggled?
  21. Except we dont, and no team really does. Especially at 27 (or really outside of the top 10), where it starts getting so washy that who can say who is the better player available. BPA at need is what we'll do. All I can hope is that it is at OL, and not DB or RB. The league is just so off of RBs nowadays, even a good one isnt worth the 1st round pick where you can get a 5th year option on a much more important position.
  22. That is certainly one, single stat to focus on. Comparing him to a worn down Zeke Elliot... Zeke: 6' 225lbs, Singletary 5'7" 205lbs, and the difference in strength shows at the goal line. Zeke in 2022: 12 TDs, Singletary 5 TDs Zeke in 2022: 0 Fumbles and 0 Lost, Singletary: 3 Fumbles, 3 Lost Zeke: 52 First Downs, Singletary: 42 First Downs I think one of these guys is the better compliment to Cook. And this isnt trying to knock, or disparage Singletary. We could definitely do worse than bringing him back this year, and I'd welcome it. Just saying...
  23. No, I'm up for one (or more) of Rousseau, Basham, Epenesa stepping it up. Most likely Rousseau. And, believe it or not, maybe even Epenesa (who played better and had more QB pressures than folks want to give him credit for, but still has a ways to go).
  24. And that can still come with drafting a couple of IOL early (because there is no one left in FA after Powers signed with Denver). But we have no power back right now, and word is Beane is looking for one. So let's do both.
