  1. We missed on extending/re-signing him because up until his 5th/last year, he simply was not WORTHY of being extended or re-signed. Even if we could've gotten a deal a couple years ago and locked him in at $15M/year, his play on the field said even that wouldve been overpaying. Unfortunately, this is as much on the player as it is on Beane, if not more so.
  2. Most likely because they are low. All the details you see come out at this time are released by the agents, almost never the team. So it sounds like Jordan and Rosenhaus are saving some face on this one and emphasizing the "2 year" part but not the money amount.
  3. You guys were both saying the same thing. After next season is 2024. Time flies! This is his last year either way. I still wish they could get Hyde and Poyer synced up, which they might have if this "2 year" deal for Poyer is really 1+Void.
  4. Pretty much what you'd expect out of a 2nd year 7th round pick. But the kid lives and breathes football, and has his whole life. He has been a huge part of the Pittsburgh football scene since he was a little kid. The coverage and mental part will come with time. I wouldnt write him off yet. (Assuming he does come back and has a career)
  5. If he intends to, then Beane has to expect it in order to manage the roster and cap accurately. Expect it until they hear otherwise at this point.
  6. He was far better than Johnson, who has had more years in the system. This was Damar's 2nd year, and he was thrown into the mix, and then all of a sudden our most tenured Safety. Give him another year to develop behind Poyer and Hyde. Poyer had 4 full seasons before he became a Bill.
  7. Check out Poyer's stats at the same point in his career.
  8. Theyre also not going to go that long carrying a $50M+ cap hit which is preventing them from signing a bunch of players they need. Unless they are ready to tank the whole season. Which could be a thing.
  9. Jimmy G was supposed to have his intro presser in Vegas today. They kept the media waiting 2 hours, and then announced he wasnt coming out. And then some tweets came out reminding everyone that this week is just "agreement week" and nothing is signed yet. Wonder if the Jets are calling?
  10. Kinda, but not really. I've been expecting him back. That soccer player came back and had a career. This was such a random fluke that will likely never happen again to another player in our lifetime. A 24 year old athlete should be able to come back. Now we have TOO MANY Safeties!
  11. He was at OBD today, and all reports are he was there to sign the deal. Not sure why he would need to wait, or what that would do for Beane.
  12. LOT of backtracking on those Vegas and Miami statements! All good. Glad to have him back. Free Agency market is a tough place.
  13. That's my hunch right now. Maybe a 2/$12M fully guaranteed, but that 2nd year is void. So it's really a 1/$12M for Poyer but $6M a year for the Bills.
  14. If Beane is a magician for creating cap space, then Terry is the magician's assistant doing all the actual work, crammed in a box with just his legs sticking out, writing massive checks and slipping them out of the top.
  15. I wonder if we could see something like 2/$12M full guaranteed, with the 2nd year a void year. So for Po, it's 1/$12M. And for the Bills it's $6M/year.
  16. Cool, let's leave it that way. edit: And Beck, you know me and my track record enough to know I'm not some angry, woman hater. I dont dislike her because "she's hot". I dislike her because she is an ignorant, misinformed, disrespectful, loudmouth. For her direct actions. And that seems to be her only talent that will last longer than the next 5 years. Additionally, my mother/sisters/daughters all contribute more to the world than butt pics and stupid opinions. So dont ever mention them in the same post as her again. Thanks.
  17. Nah, the AB stuff is exactly what I'm referring to. Never said anything different, and that's why I didnt say anything further. Still wouldnt trust her today.
  18. Ehh, at the same time, Beane is usually thorough enough to at least have conversations on pretty much every player and option out there. To think we didnt inquire at all would be a bigger indictment against Beane. Couldve been one call. "Hey, any interest in joining the Bills?" "Thanks, we dont want to leave Florida" "Ok bye"
  19. Can't argue with you there. With everything else going on in this city, fans are incredibly fair weather, and you need a major draw to get them in the door. I do think Lamar would provide exactly that.
  20. I dont think many teams would do it, but it just takes one. Tell me Blank wouldnt do it. The city would be instantly electrified for the season.
  21. Jordan cant leave her out of his sight that long. Another baller would steal her.
  22. If I'm Baltimore and Lamar leaves, I'm taking my two 1sts, rolling through this season with Huntly, and going into the next draft with two 1sts ready to move up and get a QB. They're in a position to just chill and wait now. Worst case is Lamar doesnt get any offers he likes and plays on the tag this year. He's dumb enough to do it.
  23. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, we're off! 4:15pm opened the window for teams talking to Lamar. We'll see if any suitors come calling. And the Ravens get to sit back and see what anyone negotiates with him, and decide to match it or take their picks.
