  1. That stands whether it's the current regime or a new one, so not an argument against making a regime change.
  2. Welcome to headlines in 2025. Everything is a "blast" or "tear" or "evisceration", when it is really like one statement and a conversation.
  3. No it doesnt. This isnt the drought-era complete rebuild. This is a "step in and step up" situation. Retooling a Defense is a pretty quick turnaround. We saw Doug frickin Whaley pull it off a number of times when he was dealt 5 Defensive Coordinators in 4 years (each with differerent schemes). And we still had a great defense.
  4. That was a cute, supportive sound bite from Josh, but let's be clear and honest... Ty is not the best 3rd down back in the league. At least not this year/anymore. It's on both Brady and McD since one is the OC and the other is his boss. And when you are HC, EVERYTHING that happens is either because you order it or allow it. McD acting like he wasnt in the know and is somehow surprised/upset with it is just as much an indictment on McD.
  5. How many down years did the Eagles have when they changed from Doug Pederson to Nick Siriani? (Super Bowl 2 years later, Super Bowl victory 4 years later) How many down years did the Buccaneers have when they changed from Arians to Bowles? This isnt a complete franchise reset like we are used to in the drought years when the cupboards were bare for the new regime. This is a "step in and step up" situation. We may see some turnover on Defense with a new scheme, but that is a GOOD thing imo, and Defenses are usually quicker/easier to rebuild as we've seen a number of times.
  6. Same thing I said all season to the "But Cook doesnt play 3rd down" statements: That's a coaching issue, not a Cook issue.
  7. As @Kirby Jackson already mentioned, he just has to have a 1:1 chat with Pegula and, as Terry's highest paid, most important employee, let him know he doesnt have confidence in the current regime and feels they are wasting his career. That's it really. That should be enough to get the wheels in motion. Depending on what happens from there will determine the next steps. But for the most part, it's just conversations with the owner. Shouldnt be any hold outs or hold ins or anything public at all. At worst, he let's Terry know if things dont change then he's unlikely to re-sign, or will start pushing for a trade. But that would likely be the most extreme extent.
  8. Josh Allen Logical fallacy. No one here could name Sean McDermott in January 2017. We've already seen 8 years of evidence from McD that he wont get it done. That beats any fear-based fallacies you can come up with. McDermott did a great job turning the franchise around. But we've hit his ceiling, and have been hitting it since 2021, and are wasting the career of the best player in Bills history. He's the type of HC who can take a 4-13 team to the wild card round. He's also the type of HC who takes a 14-3 team to the wild card round. His whole motto is "Playoff Caliber", and that's what we have. But now we need "Championship Caliber".
  9. Even though its the Jets, and even though its Bart Scott, it's an all-time classic moment from the NFL.
  10. So we're right on track for the disappointing playoff performance. Cool.
  11. I'll be posting the GoFundMe for the billboard immediately after that playoff loss.
  12. The Falcons won the toss and elected to receive so not sure what this thread is about. In general, it's correct to defer.
  13. I dont think it will make much of a change on Defense either. To me, it's more an important first step in firing McDermott. Hand him the keys to the defense and tell him we better see it improve. If it still sucks at the end of the year/in the playoffs, then we have all the evidence we need that McD has to go too.
  14. Ha, this is Atlanta, not Nashville. DJs and Bass is what we do. SWAG AND SURF CHEAP concession prices and an overall very friendly vibe. Good views from pretty much every seat and lots of concourse bars that have great overlook views of the field. But to each their own. Sorry the Bills ruined the family reunion (hope it was a good time until the game at least), and another great tailgate. They do that sometimes.
  15. I like all this and most of it is doable, even if it doesnt happen. The one thing I cant see happening is bringing in ANY additional players given our cap situation, let alone trading for one. How do we make that Olave trade work at all? And then we'll have an early playoff exit and be wondering what these chumps are doing. Again. 10-3 in the regular season with Josh is meaningless at this point. Super Bowl or bust.
  16. Saddest part is we have no rebuttal.
  17. Maybe, but no more Defensive HCs. Just cant do it. With Josh, we'll continue to churn OCs every year or 2. I do wish McD had reached out to his old division rival after he got fired and offered him Frazier's replacement and turned the D over to him.
  18. The opposite of love isn't hate, it's apathy. Maybe they just dont care enough to be upset anymore since they know it wont change... (I know I'm being a bit emo/dramatic here, but...)
  19. I appreciate the list because I hate the weak rebuttal of "Well WHO can you GUARANTEE will come in and win as head coach?!?" That isnt the winning argument folks think it is. Over 90% of this board had no idea who Sean McDermott was in January 2017. The bummer is, it's a sad list compared to what has been out there the last few years (Vrabel, Harbaugh, Payton, specifically).
  20. Letting Edmunds walk was the right choice. Especially at his 4/$72M number. Bernard is a much more instinctual player than Edmunds will ever be. He just doesnt have the size to go with it. But at 4/$50M its a little easier to swallow. The good news is, we can get out of the Bernard contract pretty easily after 2026. And he isnt costing us a ton in the meantime. Still less than we're paying Samuel to be a healthy scratch.
  21. Terry is incapable of making big changes now that Kim isnt in charge, or at least contributing. Losing her has put the Bills back into a purgatory. I expect no changes to be made. Especially not the Bills. Maaayyybe the Sabres since Terry thinks he's a hockey insider. But I think he's just focused on keeping status quo and taking care of Kim at home (not a knock on that). There's plenty to criticize with ownership, but I dont think it's fair to say he doesnt care. He cares, but with the Kim situation, his attention has been re-focused to home.
  22. Players win for themselves. They win for each other. Plus, the last 5 years, Josh wins this division on his own. ONE division rival finally got a decent QB and a very good HC, and they just ate our lunch in our own stadium.
  23. I took a deep breath... and all I smell is bull ****
  24. No, as long as Josh is playing he has a window to win a Super Bowl. The problem is McDermott's window has closed to win as a HC. 2021 was the year and he directly BLEW IT with 13 seconds. Time to move on before we waste Josh's entire career.
  25. It's certainly a bit of both. But imo, the coaching has more issues than talent level. The lack of fundamentals is appalling. These guys are better football players than anyone on this board, have progressed from high school to major college programs and were good enough to get drafted to the NFL... and across the board, I'm to believe our defenders never learned how to breakdown and make an open field tackle? Or line up correctly on Offense (illegal formations), Defense (clearly Offside), and Special Teams (illegal formations)? Or is it just the bad guidance they're getting (or NOT getting)... The game planning is horrible or non-existent, not sure which is worse. But when you have fans trying to justify horrible game plans with "The Bills coaches know we're so good we dont want to show much against bad teams", and now we're LOSING those games, it's a problem. And then the schemes... especially the defense... it's the crappy, soft, outdated, wild-card-caliber scheme that dictates talent issues. Small LBs, CBs that can only play zone, who knows wtf we're looking for at DL... I'm not acquitting Beane. I've been a supporter (and even excuser), but at this point, if it means a change at HC then I'm for sacrificing Beane as well. You cant have that bad a track record in the first 2 rounds and survive. I'm absolutely disgusted today.
