  1. My favorites come from the Outlaw Josie Wales. There are several good lines in that movie but the best is here. Josie and Chief Ten Bears
  2. To be fair they didn't really show you what they were doing until they were done. Must be the same as not showing you the needle with the novacaine. When I had the two of them done, after the first one, I was willing to get the second one done the same day, just to save me a trip. The guy wouldn't do it but it shows it is really no big deal anymore.
  3. I had one 20 years ago and I had two about two years ago. It was like night and day. Years ago it was a multi-visit ordeal and they removed the roots with an object that was like a metal straw. There was a reason for all the jokes about it. Now, it is all in one sitting, they take x-rays every 5 minutes to make sure they are not missing anything. I've had more painful trips to the regular dentist. One note- sometimes after a root canal your tooth gets very brittle. There is a chance it cold crack after the proceedure. Ask your doc about it. I personally like to go with a filling for a while and then the cap. Although if I remember right the cap can take about 10 times the biting pressure a filling can. So there is a little risk either way. Again ask the doc. BTW, it was a good decision on the flex spending. It makes the wallet hit a little less painfull.
  4. I was thinking about this the other day when someone mentioned George Allen. Watching McDole play for the Redskins aways confirmed to me that the Bills had one of the best lines in PRO football in the mid-60's. It always irritated the hell out of me that they didn't get to play in the first SB. I think they would have done a lot better than KC.
  5. Nice work. I was curious about the team record for each year. Here they are in cronological order. John Green (1960) 5-8-1 M.C. Reynolds (1961) 6-8 Warren Rabb (1962 ) 7-6-1 Jack Kemp (1963) 7-6-1 Dan Darragh (1968) 1-12-1 Dennis Shaw (1970) 3-10-1 Joe Ferguson (1974) 9-5 Vince Ferragamo (1985) 2-14 Jim Kelly (1986) 4-12 Todd Collins (1997) 6-10 Doug Flutie (1998) 10-6 Rob Johnson (2000) 8-8 Alex Van Pelt (2001) 3-13 Drew Bledsoe (2002) 8-8 Obviously if you look at the stats, an experienced 1st year QB does better than an inexperienced one. However, it doesn't make much difference to the final Team record. Gee, you might even think it was a TEAM game.
  6. I had to read that first line twice before I understoond what you were referencing. I find it interesting that you refer to PIRA when in the US, it is always just the IRA. Is this a US thing or is there something special about the P that separates it from just the IRA. I understand that the P is for provincial.
  7. After reading all the posts, I went back and watched the video. Notice the employee that gets spit on, then goes out in front of the counter. Looks like as soon as he sees the big guy wandering in the store he changes his mind, turns around and goes back behind the coater. I was nice that they interviewed him.
  8. For your 1000 post, that was more like 1000 to 1025. But it certainly was nice to see such a wide variety of opinions.
  9. I must have missed something the last 3 years. The first year, all there was was DB. The second year was 50-50. And the opinions are so split, I won't go into this year. I can here it now, "Well Mr Williams, how come you couldn't win with the Bills but think you can here as HC." GW says " It because DB sucks." Then again, if GW said that to guys here, at least 50 of em would re-hire him.
  10. He should sign for the vet minimum. Then tell them to spend the other 4 Mil on OLinemen. It's hard to believe he would go with a team that has a line worse that he Bills.
  11. Easiest question I've seen asked here. If he takes them to a playoff birth, they will say that's ok, he can't win a big game, so he will lose in the playoffs. And if they win in the playoffs and go to the Superbowl, they will say that's ok he can't win in a SB. And if he wins the SB, they will say, that's ok cause he can't do it again. And none of those previous games were BIG games anyway.
  12. Since it is tax season, after you do your taxes, increase your income by $100,000. Then see what you would have to pay. That is how it works. And don't forget to ante up the state's share.
  13. Am I to understand that you think I hate DB???? I am sure Fezmid got my post but I am not to sure you did. If you and I were pulling on the end of a rope, would we be pulling in the same direction?? I think you should read my post again. Then reply.
  14. He's either making excuses for his future shortcomings or he's acknowleging it will take more than just him to make the offense click. BTW, now that DB is gone I have seen several posts where they say we should now improve the offensive line, get a pass catching TE and find a goto 3rd receiver. Isn't all this what some were saying Bledsoe needed. The more things change, the more they remain the same.
  15. I find it interesting that Americans will call Soccer boring and at the same time spend 3 hours watching cars go around in circles!
  16. Are those theatrics the ones after a touchdown or now, after every tackle? And that fake agony, it must be an reference to punters and place kickers. And just where does the "Sally's" reference come from? A guy at work uses it but he doesn't know the source of it.
  17. from the CFL. A guy with experience that would like a shot.
  18. I saw the note on new stadium and luxury boxes somewhere also. but those years under 10000 had to be pretty lean. I don't think the Sabres ever went that low. And I believe I read that comment I made about competition from high school and college hockey was written about the time they were trying to get a new franchise. I remember it because Pro hockey would seem like a no brainer in Minn. Although there were 10 years between them leaving and the new franchise coming. Alot can happen in 10 years.
  19. Before they sign Fiedler, the front office should take note that the Football season and the Duck season overlap in NY.
  20. With numbers like these the Sabres would have left although I did see a note that said they were hurt by having an WHA franchise in the city at the same time. Northstar Attendance by year
  21. I thought they left because there was so much interest in high school and college hockey that there wasn't much left for NHL hockey. It is always interesting to search the internet for events which happened before the internet but I will see if I can find any attendance figures.
  22. I suppose the next thing you are going to tell us is they let Jimmy Johnson write the article that goes along with the models.
  23. Personally I think they should just keep Reed if they are getting rid of DB. It is obvious that DB throws an uncatchable ball. That is why there are so many drops by Reed and Moulds. Still not a believer. Think about all the possible interceptions which were dropped.
  24. Nice list. I count 13 of those in my vinyl collection. The 13 older ones. From the 60's both the Lefte Banke intro album and the Moby Grape album should garner votes.
