  1. Minneapolis has more good quality jobs and probably more corporate offices. Besides that they already lost one hockey team. That might supply a little incentive.
  2. Is this post the answer to "Be careful what you wish for"?
  3. Maybe they should hire TD. I know he can get a statue with a lot less paper work.
  4. I agree. In fact those IDE to USB cases are great. I use one for my DVD burner. This puts the burner on the desk for easy access and the computer on the floor where it is a little quieter and out of the way. My son bought two of these and so far they have worked out well. 5. You have several possibilities on what happened. 1) You have a virus. 2) Your wininit file is corrurpt 3)You have a hardware problem. I have had roughly the same thing happen with #2 and #3. The hardware problem I had was a bad fan on the heatsink for the CPU. The computer would do a thermal shutdown. Those old AMD chips could be real heat generators. It's tough to sort these out when you can't get started. So instead of throwing that computer off the balcony, I recommend when you get your new system, you take your old hard drive and re-install Windows on it. Then take it out of your comp and save it. If you had a backup HD now, you could connect it to your comp. This would instantly prove it was a hardware problem or not. After that you could copy your good wininit file to the other hard drive, which would insure it is good. You could use virus software on the old harddrive to scan the bad one.. Also, if you only have one comp, it allows you to connect to the internet to seek out help. At minumum, when you get out of this, get an image of your harddrive using Ghost. It easily beats this frustration that happened when you are trying to get running again. One last thing. If you are going to keep a HD back up, make sure it goes with the motherboard and cpu you are going to use it as a backup on. I've tried using HD's from other systems (I've got 4) and they tend not to like to go from one system to another especially if one has an AMD chip in it and the other has an Intel chip in it. They tend to not boot into Windows.
  6. It is a shame he played on Bill's teams that had such poor winning pct's. I always thought he was as good as or better than Bilitnikof (SP?). But back then the Raiders got as much press as any team ever has.
  7. Follow the link. It happens to fast for me to follow. http://abfhm.free.fr/basket.htm
  8. I believe you are correct. Jim's eye were bloodshot from partying all week, so they couldn't have that "in the headlights" look to them.
  9. They would have gotten Rosanne but after she finished they would have thought the game was over.
  10. I don't know if this story is true because I did not personally see it, but a friend told me it happened. Johnny, iinterviewing a professional golfters wife ( if Iremember correctly it was either Mrs Nicholas or Mrs Palmer). "Do you do anything to bring him luck" Mrs ??? " Yes before every match I kiss his balls" Johnny -- You get the Johnny look. That look was enough to make it hilarious if it wasn't already.
  11. You forgot that they can sue the railing manufacturer. The railing was at designed at built at an inadequet and tempting height. It it went to the ceiling she wouldn't have thought to do this and wouldn't have been able to get on the railing. They also should have anticipated this and the railing should have had a safety when loaded with a force of over 80 pounds, so the railing would have grabbed HER, so she could not fall. Lastly, they should have had at least three safety signs.
  12. Love- Forever Changes Have to wonder if anyone else here has even heard of Love
  13. I heard about this. I can't remember the kid's father first name, but his last name was Bertuzzi.
  14. Wow, thanks for the link, that site is great. Even has the AFL years, when Buffalo actually won a league championship.
  15. They've got more. It's called bad weather.
  16. Both the Hollies and the The Byrds continued on successfully, IMO, after the two departures you mention. And when Clapton left the Yardbirds, it may have changed the band for the better. But there was only one Keith Moon but then the Who did continue on. And for those who mention the Doors, JM was a great front man, but the musicians in the band were very, very good. I know Jim wrote the words but I don't know how much input he had on the music.
  17. All these posts and not one mention of your listing of Peter Green. One of the better guitarists of the late 60-early 70 period. Too bad he was haunted by his own demons. But you want to listen to one great album, try "Then played On." It would probably make my list of all time top 10. BTW, I didn't think you were that old. Also I doubt anyone could name a band which had so much success as such different entities.
  18. Wow another Yardbirds fan. They are few and far between. I thought for sure someone would say Aerosmith's remake of "Train Kept Arolllin," which I personally didn't think was anyway near what the Yardbirds did. I believe the BBC is a compilation, isn't it? There are a few cuts from my favorite Yardbirds album "Rave Up", of which Smokestack LIghtning is one. BTW, if you haven't heard it, get a listen to Birdland. Basically it is a remake of their some of the old Yardbird stuff with guest guitarists. There are also a couple of new songs which are very good. Makes you really wish they were originally recorded with a little bit of fidelity. The other odd thing about the album is some guy from Queen is the steady lead singer, lead guitarist ( I forgot his name) and he does one amazing job in reproducing the Keith Relf sound. You really have to hear it.
  19. I really like things that take a different perspective. You know the Seinfeld episode that ran backward. Absolutely great, not only in content but in concept. I'm putting your post in that same group. Absolutely great post.
  20. And what some believe is, they may still draw some big name players but the ones that wanted money could go elsewhere. So it would be a lot harder for the Yanks to make the post season. One thing overlooked is that a kid that may have grown up watching the Braves on cable and is a fan of the Braves, would mostly likely opt for the Braves when given even money.
  21. The bottom 3 games are all Drew. You are correct that the 48 attempts,253 yards are Drew's stats for his Superbowl appearance. You are also correct that aLL of the other lines are winning Superbowl QB stats. Looking at those stats, any QB can win a SB. Elway's first SB is line 4. 12 for 22 with 123 yards, 1 Int. Interensting considering how many posts I've read over the last two days that place Elway in the "Drew should be like him" catagory. I was really amazed at how many times "average" to "below average" stats worked out to be the winning combination. Obviously, winning a SB takes a TEAM effort. I didn't look at all the SB's, but the one thing I would say about the winning QB in the above stats, they didn't give up a lot of interceptions. Line 2 in Theisman's 83 performance where he gave up 2. Interesting that you use the word "only 253 yards" in that is the highest total on the list. I would also bet 80% of the winning QB's have less than that. If I get time later, I will put in the QB for each of the stats. BTW, thanks to you three guys for responding.
