  1. Ok I’ll try to make it as easy as possible. There are also certain thresholds for salaries so if we lose or sign a guy under the minimum threshold it doesn’t count to the formula. Cut players don’t count in the formula. There are also only 32 comp picks given out. Each team can get a max 4 comp pick on players and additional comp picks on minority coaches which is how the 49ers got 7. So let’s say this year: the Bills lose 4 guys that meet the minimum amount. The amounts are the average per year pay. So we lose Edmunds for 17 million, Poyer for 10 million, Singletary signs for 4 million a year, and Rodger Saffold for 4 million a year. Then we go out and sign a non cut player like idk let’s say OG Isaac Seumelo for 11 million a year and he’s our only Free Agent we sign that wasn’t cut. We lose: Edmunds 17 million Poyer 10 million Singletary 4 million Saffold 4 million We gained: Isaac Seumelo for 11 million Thats a net lose of 3 players which means the Bills are now eligible for 3 comp picks. They then take the 2 most like Average per year and negate each other. In this case Poyer contract is the most like Seumelo. That leaves us with Edmunds, Singletary, and Saffold as players we can get comp picks for. Based on last years threshold we would get 3rd for Edmunds, 6th for Singletary, and a 6th for Saffold.
  2. It’s not hard. If you gain more Free Agents then you lose you get nothing. If you lose more Free Agents and then you sign you’re eligible for that amount of comp picks. Then they take like salaries of players gained/lost and take them out of the equation leaving two guys you get picks on. Over the cap is like 95% accurate and make it very easy to learn
  3. Not anymore, if you believe he is a top Guard in the league which some believe he would be his salary would fall in line with the top guys at his position.
  4. 1. Trenton Simpson LB Clemson 2. Tucker Kraft TE South Dakota State 3. Jammie Robinson SAF FSU 4. Sydney Brown SAF Illinois 5. Chase Brown RB Illinois 6. Mohamoud Diabete LB Utah 7. Charlie Jones WR Purdue 8. Riley Moss CB Iowa 9. Jake Andrews OC/OG Troy 10. Lonnie Phelps DE/LB Kansas Late round guys who peak my interest: Chandler Zavala- Think he can be a starter but position flex could be an issue only played LG in College SirVocea Dennis LB/Saf Pitt- He’ll at the very least be a long time ST in the NFL. Probably will get drafted and I really like Pitt defenders. Always seemed to get coaches up well. Jartavius Martin CB/S Illinois- Gets overshadowed by Sydney Brown but I think he can be a good depth player early on and valuable for teams because he can play multiple positions. Ali Gaye DE/LB LSU- This one is the projection to me. Built like a prototype. Has had good pass rushing games but is raw. He’ll either be a huge steal or out of the NFL early.
  5. Chris Nowinski a former WWE wrestler and Harvard Grad is the top researcher in CTE I agree that the medical industry has come a long way but we still have a very long way to go particularly with the brain, nervous system, genetics, and gut health affecting other areas of the body
  6. If Allen became a check down master and it led to a SB I wouldn’t care.
  7. Yes I think we could either get a 2nd or a combination of like a 3 and 5 for him.
  8. Nope, it’s irreversible damage. My guess is there is management of symptoms but there is no cure for it. The medical field barely knows how the brain or the central nervous system works. There are so many syndromes that are supposedly idiopathic. Idiopathic just means they don’t know how it happens and is a fancy way to make you feel better about yourself. Most of them are most certainly either a brain or nervous system malfunction.
  9. A fig can be a tree and a tree has wood , so it must be Eric Wood
  10. it’s not what I think it’s what the Bills think. I’d draft a RT but I doubt the Bills are going to do it in round 1
  11. The problem I see at 27 is unless a top guy drops like Skoronski, there isn't an IOL guy that is more worthy of the 27th pick vs a guy you can get in round 2-3. Now if we're talking tackle you could talk me into Darnell Wright or Dawand Jones at 27 I suppose but I don't see the Bills going tackle in round 1
  12. The problem with IOL is the guys are all very similarly graded. Most of the depth is round 2-4. If they are going Oline it would have to be tackle and I’m not sure a good one will be left. After Addison showed up in the 170s and ran 4.55 he might drop to the Bills. I think I’d take that chance if he’s there. I think if Robinson is on the board it’s a no brainer.
  13. Bingo. The Bills will be using Knox and a high pick more than 30% of the time if they go that route. Davis is also a good blocking WR and is excellent on play action passes(when he catches the ball)
  14. What? The worst teams have the most money say it ain’t so. I know it’s a broad stroke of the brush but the Bills can make the necessary moves to be competitive in Free Agency and a trade down or 2 during the draft gives us the capital we need
  15. Rodney Hudson is retiring I believe
  16. I stated it was double edged in a later post. I understand that. It really comes down to losing out on some free agents and getting a 2nd and maybe like a 5th for Edmunds and not getting top tier guys or letting him walk and get an end of 3rd rounder in compensatory form. We can restructure and maneuver some things because I think we’re going to be bargain bin shopping anyways vs going after top guys
  17. You can also rescind the franchise tag on the player before mid July to open that cap space back up. It’s double edged tho as your tying up money at the beginning of FA
  18. I would tag Edmunds and try to trade him for compensation. Other teams can knock that cap down with an extension
  19. Yes I’m a big fan but less so at Mike than at Field LB. He’s a better player outside than Inside in my opinion. I think he’d be better in an attacking defense than a rush 4 drop 8 type defense like a Tampa 2 or the quarters defense the Bills were playing
  20. I always laugh because every time Jets brass is asked about Zach Wilson they always prop him up and always say something like we believe in Zach Wilson and his story is not over when it comes to a Jets uniform. Than every two weeks, they are trying to be in on a veteran QB like Carr or Rodgers. Just tell the kid he sucks and say we're gonna move on from you and trade you somewhere. You have no faith in him, and he thinks your full of crap so why keep the kid on the ledge.
  21. I don't know if Elite will be there but I agree with the premise. The Bills need to draft the best guy they can at any position this year. I actually really like Trenton Simpson the LB at 27. He has explosive traits and production especially his sophomore year. He'd be a guy who has a reasonable chance to be there at 27, would fit the new supposedly aggressive mode that McDermott wants for his defense, and possesses traits that if he is coached up in the NFL could be a star.
  22. This is 100% true. In 2021 when Simpson was asked to be a LB in space because Baylor Spector was the MLB, Simpson had 65 Tackles, 12.5 TFL, 6 Sacks, 11 additional QB Pressures, and 3 passed broken up. Spector graduated and they moved Simpson inside. This year he had 72 tackles(expected playing MLB), 4 TFL, 2.5 Sacks, and 3 PD. His stat line dropped big time. Can't blame that on lack of talent up front as Clemson arguably had the 2nd or 3rd best DL in the country last year. He is a better player in space than he is in the box. His tape and stats prove that. Its not to say he can't play MLB but he is better suited to play outside and chase
  23. Tucker Kraft, not Tyler Kroft, he's a TE from South Dakota State.
  24. I agree here but drafting Simpson would be a change in defensive philosophy. Simpson is not a MLB. He is jack of all trades LB. He lines up outside, in the slot, rushers the passer but is not an in the box fill the A gap type guy. He's more of a very valuable big Nickel type player to be honest. Campbell more fits the traditional MLB of today.
  25. The Bills wanted to change their philosophy last year which is why they signed OJ Howard then realized he was awful and went away from that. Howard was known as a good blocker and they were trying to unlock him in the passing game. I think they realized he didn't have the juice to be that guy. They want to be a 12 personnel team. Its in Dorseys past DNA, it fits the system Dorsey has run, that Daboll has run in the past with the Patriots, and the University of Miami had stud TE's. The problem with needing two TE's is you need both who can block and be able to stretch the seams. Most of the TE's in this class either fit one or the other. Kincaid and Musgrave are pure pass catchers, Washington is a great blocker but he is not a dynamic pass catcher despite his athletic numbers, Mayer, after his testing might not be either. I keep coming back to Tucker Kraft as that guy. Probably have to take him in round 2. He can block, he can stretch the field, he can work underneath, had really solid combine numbers.
