Your Offseason Upgrades to the OLine
gonzo1105 replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would release or Mitch Morse retires and move Ryan Bates to Center. I would bring in Andre Dillard from the Eagles to compete at either LT or Right Tackle. Dillard wont break the bank as he has been a semi bust due to injuries(2 out of 4 years). If Dillard can prove himself as a LT in the league(debatable), this would allow the Bills to either move Dawkins inside or Dillard/Dawkins can replace Spencer Brown. Dillard is more of a natural left tackle so I will simply bump Dillard to LT and Dawkins will slot at either LG/RT. I would also try to make a move on Trey Pipkins. A prospect very similar to Spencer Brown. Started for the Chargers and had a decent season. Might not break the bank but will command some type of solid contract. In the 2nd round, I'd take Cody Mauch OG from North Dakota State if he is available. A former Tackle who is projected inside to guard in the NFL. Some think he could go round 1 if he kills the all star circuit. Will need to add some mass but my objective here is to get way more athletic on the offensive line since we are going to continue to pass the ball a ton. I'd like to get a more athletic offensive line so we can add the screen game back into the picture. LT: Dillard LG: Dawkins Center: Ryan Bates RG: Cody Mauch RT: Pipkins/Brown Thats my idea. Don't think it is too far fetched. I wouldn't say its a dominant offensive line but with our cap restrictions and my thoughts on we have to get more athletic upfront, I think this fits the Bill. Obviously we would add some other depth pieces.- 94 replies

After the Bills walked to a 24-10 victory over the Patriots in Foxborough, either Belichick or Patricia said that they threw all of these short passes because they wanted to get their playmakers into space and force the Bills to tackle. You could see Mac Jones screaming at coaches on the sideline after the Bills stifled their gameplan. Bills media and pundits laughed at the notion mostly because the Patriots don't have the receiving weapons to make that happen on a down to down basis. Flash forward to yesterday. The Bengals constantly threw the ball very short with screens, dump offs, crossers etc and made the first one or two bills miss gaining extra yardage with missed tackles. Obviously the Bengals had much better weapons with their 3 WR's but its also arguable that their RB's and TE's were both of a higher caliber than the Patriots. I just couldn't stop thinking about that statement and how I watch the Bills on defense and they just look slow. The Bengals just had better athletes on offense than the Bills had of defense. Also give Cinci DC Lou Anarumo a lot of credit. That man knows how to shut down top QB's in this league. He's done it to Mahomes and now he did it to Allen. I also admired the play of Trey Hendrickson and wish he was on the Bills. Guy can do everything. He's tough, physical, can rush the passer and set the edge. He also was in a 2 point and 3 point at times chucking Dawson Knox before coming on his rush. Just a good throwback hardnosed football player. That Bengals team is really good when clicking on all cylinders.

If I had to venture a guess, it makes more sense to move on from Frazier first. Bills are going to lose defensive talent over the next year or two and it makes sense from a timing standpoint to change while the talent is changing. Dorsey gets more weapons and line next year to prove he’s the guy. If not he’s gone -

This team makes too many self inflicted things to win a SB. They are the best team in the NFL, but their also the best team at beating themselves. -

I agree but I think if Jackson comes back(a big if) the Ravens can stop Cinci since they play so much and they did split it the season. I’m saying it’s not likely but Baltimore plays a unique style with Jackson and when their on they could give the Bengals and Chiefs fits they have in the past. -

Who do we want winning the wild cards? A Baltimore win over Cincinnati means we get the Jacksonville/Los Angeles game. I think ideally we’d want Baltimore/Jacksonville to win setting up Baltimore@KC Jacksonville @ Buffalo -
We got the worst possible draw we could get. A banged up secondary vs 3 high powered offenses. I fully expect Tua to play next week

I had concerns about him when they drafted him. He’s had flashes but he has been more cold than hot as a DB in the NFL -

I think McDaniel has done a great job with the offense especially with a limited Quarterback maximizing his abilities. I don't know if the guy will make a great HC but he is one hell of an offensive coordinator.

Playoff Solutions Assuming they don’t replay the Bengals game.
gonzo1105 replied to Locomark's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well Baltimore and Kansas City lost to Buffalo, the Ravens might have a case but they will also get that opportunity in week 18 against the Bengals. If they win, they win the division which is best case for Baltimore anyways. Kansas City has no room to talk if they decide to give Buffalo the 1 seed because they lost to Buffalo. If they decide to give the 1 seed to Cincinnati, Kansas City has no room to talk. -

I don't think the NFL would rule the Bills game vs the Bengals a forfeit, I believe the game, if not played will be ruled a no contest. I do believe the Bills wouldn't play the Patriots in the unfortunate case that Hamlin has a bad outcome and that would lead to a forfeit. -

I can't see the NFL making the Bills forfeit against the Bengals especially after the coaches mutually agreed. I could see a scenario that if the Bills don't want to play the Patriots that being a forfeit but man that guarantees the Patriots in the playoffs and wouldn't set well with the Dolphins and Steelers. If you call it a no contest or a tie, the Chiefs get the one off the basis of a near death experience cancelling a game. I don't think the NFL wants that either. Conference record seems like the best way to go with it but it screws the Bengals out of an opportunity to get the 1 Seed by not playing the Bills. To me the logical, and it works in the Bills favor, is to go by point differential of AFC Teams played pending all 3 teams win next week. I don't know if the NFL would go down that road but either way tough decision for the NFL in multiple avenues. -
Who do you want to avoid in the playoffs?

Yea I’m not banking on Baltimore going into Cincinnati with the AFC North on the line with Huntley or a rusty Lamar Jackson and pulling it off. -

The 4-6 seeds are pretty locked in the 4- Either Tenn or Jax 5: Los Angeles unless they lose to Denver unlikely 6: Baltimore 7: Miami, NE, Pitts Most likely scenarios are: 1: Buffalo or KC 2: KC or Cincinnati 3: Cincinnati or Buffalo 4: TN or Jax 5: Los Angeles or Baltimore 6: Baltimore or Los Angeles 7: Miami, NE, Pitts We are very likely to either be the 1 or the 3 seed. The only way we can be the two is if we beat Cincinnati but lose to the Patriots. That means we are on the bye as the 1 but if we do lose to Cincinnati we are very likely to end up with Baltimore in the wild card with Los Angeles as the 2nd option.
