  1. Football injury rates are super high, though, and only gets worse with less rest. I googled it to find some stats, and from http://www.totalprosports.com/2012/06/08/11-most-dangerous-sports/#12: Football: 4.85%. Hockey: .57% From another study (although I'm not sure who the population is here - it's ranked by total injuries but the number of participants is way different. Football leads in injury rate, with Hockey 2nd): http://www.familiesafield.org/pdf/Injury_page.pdf
  2. Biggest difference is the slim hardware is more reliable, and isn't as loud as the larger version. At least, that's been my experience owning both.
  3. I guess I'm the only one that loves college overtime.
  4. Totally agree.
  5. Sorry yeah, I meant Thanksgiving. Yeah, working football games like that definitely needs to be optional. And I think it is for UT employees, right? I'd honestly prefer if UT did the football game on Friday. Football games are a little different to me too, because they aren't opening thousands upon thousands of stores at the scale that these huge retail chains are doing to people. I hope so, but given the reports...
  6. Don't think it's cool that these retailers open on black Friday. Let people have time with their families.
  7. Should have been a penalty on Brady for unsportsmanlike conduct.
  8. I don't see the nfl allowing a company anytime soon. Nfl rules on ownership state you must have one owner who owns a majority of the team, and that must be a person. They would be giving up a lot by allowing that to change to a corporation. I don't see the current owners all agreeing to that.
  9. We probably want the patriots to win out and lock up a bye week by week 17 so Belichick will have reason to play backups.
  10. Tried the Xbox One controller today. I hate the bumpers on that controller. It feels really unnatural to roll my hand up to push them, I almost have to press against the bottom of the controller to do it. I much prefer the Xbox 360 controller. I've heard some not so great things about the TV integration, Kinect voice commands, etc. Hoping all that can be improved with software updates in time. I think my strategy this go around is to hold off for a while. I'm most excited about Super Mario 3D World tomorrow then any of the launch titles for either console.
  11. Pluckers is really hit and miss for me. We got them catered at work a few weeks back, and their wings were actually really good. But, I've also had some awful wings from them. Their bleu cheese is delicious, though. There were two awesome wing places in San Antonio, both dive bars that made their own wings. Both really good.
  12. +1. I like Rich Gannon, Tim Ryan, etc. They provide insight into Xs and Os and plays. Dan Dierdorf says things like "Fred Jackson is a professional football player".
  13. Getting to .500 or better in the division would be a huge win for this team. The best teams start by winning divisional games, most teams are built for that. The Bills haven't been .500 or better in the division since 2007.
  14. Was nice to see the progression today. He finally didn't check it down every play and went for some long throws. Would like to see him string up a few performances like this over the last 5 games. If he can, even with a couple of stinkers, that puts enough promise out there that we have a good base to build upon. I was getting worried there that he was only going to check down over and over and over.
  15. EJ was promising today. He showed some solid accuracy on throws he had struggled with earlier in the year, and he took shots downfield that he was checking down from in earlier contests. There were so many times Goodwin was open vs PIT and he didn't throw him the ball it drove me crazy. I almost wonder if it was a really good thing for him that his short security blankets in SJ13 and Woods were out, with Rex pressing up close and leaving the top open. That combo basically forced him to throw downfield. I would like to see a few more of these performances down the stretch. Hopefully he's learned he can totally take and hit shots deep, and will build off of this. Here's to more performances like this one!
  16. I'm glad there isn't a video of you twerking today.

  18. Lol fanboys
  19. The big promise with it is durability. (Note: Ignore Samsung's first curved phone, it's only coming out in Korea and isn't a good look at what the tech can do). The best example of this coming soon is the LG G Flex. It can support a lot of weight on the phone without breaking. In fact, you can flatten it out, then it'll restore to a curved state, and the phone doesn't have a cracked screen. If you accidentally step/sit on the phone, there's a much better chance of the screen not breaking. LG is also incorporating self-healing technology on the back cover. Get a scratch on the back? The self-healing will take care of the scratch for you. Here's a video showing the two (self-healing first):
  20. That seemed like the time to go for it.
  21. I actually think Hackett is calling a good game. Lots of plays being left on the field by poor execution. That's what happens with a qb like Tuel.
  22. 12-team league with 17-man rosters and $5 per transaction.
  23. I worked for a company that had an acceptance rate less than Harvard as well. It also was on the Fortune 100 best companies to work for every year. I wonder if it's pretty common for that list to be that way.
  24. Why not just use google hangout? BBM had a lot more than that. You could do group calendars, reminders, received & read status, etc. Can't do that with text. But most people have moved on to things like Google Hangout, Group Me, and others.
