A policeman put on his uniform He'd like to have a gun just to keep him warm Because violence here is a social norm You've got to humanize yourself

I am having a great year for tomatoes and Japanese eggplants. My peppers are disappointing after having my 2 best years ever. I was still getting peppers in October and even early November for the last 2 years. This year I only have a few cayennes and jalapenos, and almost no bells. Not sure why.

https://abcnews.go.com/Sports/highly-touted-brockermeyer-twins-commit-alabama-crimson-tide/story?id=71844037 One brother is a center in the top 100. The other is a Left Tackle and #2 ranked overall. The Tide just might (I said MIGHT) have the best OL in college this season and next. In Latham and Brockermeyer, they do have the two top OT prospects for 2021, and I (for what little it is worth) project the 2020 OL to be better than they were last season. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All around I see the purple shades of evening And on the ground The shadows fall and once again you're in my arms So tenderly The sidewalks in the street The concrete and the clay beneath my feet Begins to crumble But love will never die Because we'll see the mountains tumble Before we say goodbye

Those 'Poor' People earning $200k
Bill from NYC replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Most pensions are things of the past HBF. You know this. A 401K is now a total necessity. There is plenty of blame to go around for this too I might add. -

People are running out of NYC. Rents are sinking rapidly for the first time in decades. Maybe I am misinformed. That is always possible, but; I am under the impression that St. Louis ranks in the top 5 in murders in the nation. Couple that with Ferguson and it sounds bleak, wouldn’t you say? Maybe that is why the networks declared the state for President Trump 7 minutes after polls closed. Lesson learned.....there is good and bad in everything. ??? -

How far from St. Louisvis Ferguson? I am thinking thatvriots fail to attract successful people. -

No doubt, but where do you think that the bulk of 200K families tend to live? My guess is that they live in high tax states. If your family income is 200K on Long Island, nobody is impressed, and your property tax could easily be 15K. Easily, and now with the NYC exodus, the taxes will skyrocket. Home prices already have. -

I don’t want to pay more tax. That is my choice. I suspect that it is yours as well because I am gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you don’t send extra checks to the govt., or forsake available deductions. ? -

Maybe we should all make the same salary whether or not we even work. Then, we won’t have to resent, or even loathe successful people. -
Should I sell my house?
Bill from NYC replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The dynamics of the market have changed around NYC. Rents are down in Manhattan. I do not remember this ever happening. NYC is now a cesspool with riots. Not great. People are working from home and many will never go back. There is less need for cities. On Long Island, property values have SOARED and there is no inventory. I heard someone say that prices rose between 10 and 20% just in June. If you sell, you might be limited on new options. HTH. -
I'm up on the tightrope , one sides hate and one is hope It's a circus game with you and me. I'm up on the tight wire , linked by life and the funeral pyre But the top hat on my head is all you see. And the wire seems to be the only place for me A comedy of errors and I'm falling Like a rubber neck giraffe, you look into my past Well, baby you're just too blind to...see.

Report: bills wanted to draft Wilson/Prescott
Bill from NYC replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe every word of this. I even wanted the Bills to draft Dak after seeing him play against Alabama. It was obvious that he was a good QB. He had a DWI not long before the draft and all reports said that that this was out of character. What is hard to believe is that there are still Bills Fans who defend Whaley. -
How Will the 2020-2021 Season Look?
Bill from NYC replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK, I will respectfully disagree. I see your point, but imo championships never come in a vacuum. If Buffalo wins a title it will be due to the fact that we played the best of any team under the given circumstances. I would be ecstatic and think that most Bills Fans would also be. If another team wins, I truthfully would not care. jmo. -

Bill from NYC replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fans attending games is pure profit for the owners, much of it in pure cash. There would seem to be no way that they let an entire season pass without any fans. We are talking of untold millions consisting of 15 dollar beers and 50 dollars to park in some stadiums, let alone souvenirs, high ticket prices and everything else. I know these owners are super rich, but they didn't get that way by turning down money, and at the end of the day they control most of the politicians. Jmo. Who cares? -

I'll have a beer and one potato chip
Bill from NYC replied to Steve O's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The dead men and women in nursing homes are not recovering because nursing homes were forced by Cuomo to accept them. The 130% increase in NYC shootings in the month of June is primarily due to Cuomo emptying out the jails and prisons, some due to the riots. Some of the victims are recovering, some not. Is there anything about Cuomo that you don't approve of, or do you worship him? -

I believe you but riots bring about an overall sense of lawlessness, until of course they are stopped by force. It also makes police officers question how much they want to get involved unless they are forced to. In some jurisdictions and circumstances it would be more advisable to just let someone go rather than risk using force on another person. The paycheck is the same and the headaches are fewer. Much fewer. In California very recently, police officers had a car pulled over. A very prominent politician was driving by. She pulled over to the curb, exited her vehicle, and wanted to know why they had "brothers" pulled over. If you think I'm making this up, it's on you tube. If I was an official in their police union, I would happen to let the word slip out in informal conversation that car stops are a bad idea. What you are seeing now is the tip of the iceberg, unless these (mostly white) Antifa rioters are stopped by the use of necessary force. -

The numbers are primarily due to the riots, not covid. -
I am not sure why that movie didn't get more notice. Not only was it informative, it was very funny and well acted.
