  1. If this team is transitioning to a 3-4 again, there is no doubt in my mind that pick at #8 will be LB that can play in Pettine's scheme. Nassib will not be picked in the 1st round, unless a team trades up into the end of the 1st to select him.
  2. I really wasn't a fan of him getting into his lineman's face at the end of the end of the game with them up by 28, and they had just committed a delay of game penalty. He really showed up his center for doing that, and the center was justified for shoving him. He also has questionable decision making capabilities, as referenced by this: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1474841-aj-mccarrons-giant-chest-tattoo-is-spreading-developing-its-own-ecosystem
  3. People are saying torn ACL and PCL. 14-18 month recovery time and 2013 is in jeopardy for RGIII.
  4. Unconfirmed reports out of DC are that RGIII has a torn ACL and torn PCL with a 14-18 month recovery time. No way Cousins gets traded.
  5. I am VERY high on Dysert. I've watched film on all the QBs in this year's draft, and I think Dysert is going to climb draft boards and be considered one of the better options on draft day. People are in love with Glennon's "potential" and "tools". Dysert has exhibited how talented he is with lesser talent on his team.
  6. I wasn't really impressed with Nassib in these two clips. I can see his 63% completion percentage being a product of completing the short throws, screens, and swing passes, but his long ball was terrible and inaccurate. He does have very good arm strength on the short to intermediate throws, but he was very inaccurate and doesn't have very good touch on his throws, especially on the deep throws. He displays pretty good pocket awareness, but his feet are way too happy, and he has a cocking motion in his throwing motion. There are other QB prospects that I like a lot better, but we will have to see how they all perform in the Senior Bowl.
  7. Maybe he is going through his closet because he is expecting to move out of Buffalo
  8. What will it take to get Chip Kelly to be the next coach of the Buffalo Bills? Money? Control? And what makes the Bills a more attractive landing spot than the Browns or the Eagles, who have expressed interest in Kelly and have great RBs of their own (Trent Richardson and LeSean McCoy)? I for one think the Bills will have to break the bank for Kelly and offer him a 5 year contract that would pay him $5M-$6M per year. Russ will also have to reassure that there will be no involvement from an aging owner and that there is a new stadium on the horizon, which is another value proposition.
  9. Lovie is said to be interested in the Bills because of his connection to Jairus Byrd's father, which would bode well for the Bills to retain Byrd if Lovie is hired. I do like the combo of Lovie/Marinelli/Hue Jackson as our coaching staff.
  10. With Brandon saying they were going to apply a layer of analytics to player evaluation and game performance, it would make sense to have a guy like Chip Kelly because he is a coach that is fueled by analytics. Perhaps the Bills are building their approach to cater to Chip Kelly.
  11. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1206508/1/index.htm Everyone should read this article to help them understand exactly what types of analytics teams are using. Not just for player evaluation (attaching a GPS to each player to get an idea of WR's route running, or closing time for a CB in pass coverage), but also for game situations, like how to attack in OT (should teams be more conservative, or run the 2-minute drill?). A lot of teams have had analytics departments for some time now, and they make it no secret. Whatever advantage you have to win should be exploited.
  12. Watch the tape of him against the Buckeyes this year. He is a gunslinger, pocket passer with a very quick release, a very strong arm, and has the ability to throw on the run both to his left and right. He threw some sweet passes in that game, kept a lot of plays alive, and started to take more chances the more they fell behind in the game, which lead to a couple of interceptions. He didn't benefit from a decent WR corp, because they dropped a ton of balls in the game. Out of all the guys I have seen on tape in the draft this year, he has been the best of the bunch thus far and the most fun to watch because he takes chances and keeps plays alive while constantly looking down field. I could see his stock rising after a strong Senior Bowl performance and Pro-Day.
  13. I think the analytical part of it, and how Brandon mentioned Nix along with Overdorf's name means they are going to implement a sabermetrics system. Anyone who has seen "Moneyball" knows what that is all about. Ladies and Gentlemen...the Bills are going to be the Oakland A's of the NFL. I expect us to potentially be decent enough to compete, but we'll groom, then trade players for draft picks rather than resign them long term.
  14. I think Whisenhunt is going to be the guy. With the announcement of Whaley's increased role and GM in waiting tag, I would expect him to have somewhat of a say as to who gets hired, as the GM and HC relationship on a football team has to be intrinsic, and with them having worked together in Pittsburgh and having a good feel for each other, I'd expect them to announce his hiring by this weekend.
  15. I'm not completely sold on a college coach having a lot of control with an NFL franchise, but Kelly intrigues me because he is very transparent, players coach who has elevated a decent football program into a powerhouse. Also, he would have to draft players that fit his scheme, which might limit our options at who we select at #8.
  16. I like Chan as an offensive playcalller and his ability to make something out of very little talent that he had on the roster. However, as others have pointed out, his inability to utilize the most potent weapon on the offense (Spiller) is the reason why he is not returning next year.
  17. Excellent post. It is a logical workflow that you and others have presented, and the dots that are being connected allows us to hopefully think that something like this does come to fruition.
  18. Tayvon Austin looks like a Percy Harvin clone, but much faster and shiftier in space. He will go in the 1st round as well.
  19. His name was floated around here during the last coaching search. He doesn't have that big name attraction to him, but solid experience.
  20. Best route runner in the game with timely physicality that wins him a lot of matchups at the line of scrimmage.
  21. Probably means there is a recruiting violation brewing in ALA that will be unveiled real soon and Saban is looking at jumping **** before he's caught with his pants around his ankles.
  22. RGIII is looking like he could be TGOAT (The greatest of all time).
  23. The egregious misuse of Spiller has me thinking that there could be something in his contract where he is on the verge of hitting an escalator that would pay him a lot more. That is the only thing I can think of.
  24. This is like saying an ugly Christmas sweater party isn't PC. When are they going to start colonizing on Mars? I am done with this planet.
