  1. Another thought came to mind - the signing of Isabella, a serious underproducer and interest in another underperformer (NKeal Harry) gives a clear signal that McBeane are not happy with the WR room. Which itself is a good sign because they are at least indirectly acknowledging it. Neither Isabella nor Harry can be expected to be that "missing piece" but at least the effort is there. Perhaps they keep trying and stumble across a John Brown who would greatly help in a spot role.
  2. If BB is fired after this season, he would not retire. He would want to pull of the coaching equivalent of Brady - winning a Superbowl with another team. Given his age, the only way he does that is going to a team with a good QB already on board. Which would be a rare situation. Plus it is certain that the new team would only want him as a HC and not influence the draft board. Tough all the way around for BB.
  3. Agreed on this. (you are saying this too) We cannot depend on our low draft picks Shorter or Shavers to make a positive impact this season. We would have won the lottery if one of them somehow surprise us . After all it has been a long time since one of our low draft picks rose to starter status - Kyle Williams was one, Benford is trending that way. But, expecting Shorter or Shavers to be good, in their rookie years, is too much and not conducive to a strategy.
  4. His teams do over achieve their roster and there is proof of that. There are very few coaches who have won it all with sub-par QB talent. So, I am not totally dismissing his skills as a HC. His teams are well prepared and rarely do gaffes in big games. Brady is in a different tier but he rode that horse for more wins than another coach would have. Just imo on that last part.
  5. Yes, that too. But I dont know the inner workings of the Patriots** organization to know if those choices were his decisions alone.
  6. I am honestly blanking out. Who were you referring to? Or are you saying the Bills have already checked and haven't found anyone? I was only picking up on the question whether is a trade candidate.
  7. imo, Belichick's problem isn't the quality of his coaching. Its his track record of drafts which had his fingerprints on them
  8. As this thread is about hypotheticals... If another team has a malcontent WR with a better catch %, I wouldnt mind trading Davis and a 2024 draft pick to get him.
  9. Shakir's dropsies are concerning to say the least. Dude better get his head and hand-eye coordination in place.
  10. The book on Payton's reign in Denver is yet to be written
  11. Talk about being candid and open! Of course Hackett has to be blamed but someone in that organization interviewed him, looked at his track record and still thought he is worthy of being a HC. I also blame the idiots who hired him into that position
  12. So would your SO
  13. As will Allen's casual, nonchalant and unfocused look which clearly tells us he is not all-in. Diggs is all business with no time for jokes and smiles.
  14. Terrible for Hines, speedy recovery to him Does this mean we now get the other Cook?
  15. No he wasn't very good the previous season
  16. I like the kid. I was skeptical before last season but in the games I watched, he did look competent and managed the offense well. He had a superior supporting cast but that doesn't mean he isn't good. Of course he had to prove that last year was not a fluke but he appears to be hard working and is tough not to cheer for him if he is not playing the Bills. And not every evaluation has to meander into a comparison with Allen. He can be not at the same level of Mahomes, Allen and Burrow but still be considered a good QB
  17. Good for him but he can't play any more. The Giants signed him but that doesn't mean he is a big part of their plans. This will be his last gasp and will be out of the league after that
  18. He will do that before the season. NY media will ask him and he will gladly comply and grin through his remaining 4 front teeth
  19. What the heck are you and @Prospector babbling about?
  20. Agree on @GunnerBill There is no debate and no need to add more words Additional shoutouts @HoofHearted and @Buffalo716 For informed analysis @Kirby Jackson For returning to post at least occasionally @Beck Water (I know it is your thread BADOL but still) For research @BADOLBILZ For player analysis and lot of data (except when you get snarky but the above self-sarcasm was good) @Simon To always have the whip handy @SDS Just because we all exist
  21. Very cool story. I did like this part "“I enjoyed the conversation we had about coaching, life and just living,” Guenther told The Buffalo News on Monday. “He’s a great person and fantastic" If one gets to spend time with a gentleman coach of your favorite team, do not make the coach regret the decision. The above is exactly what I would have talked to the coach about. Let the conversation come to you as opposed to forcing it in an uncomfortable direction. The guy is being nice and not standing at a press conference.
  22. You have odd tastes
  23. I dont know if I should be happy or sad that you and I both remember him, considering he was so bad 😀
  24. I had to go back and look up his name but an obscure player I remember is Matt Stevens (DB) who made one huge hit and did pretty much nothing else in his time here. I was saddened to see that he was as high as a 3rd round pick.
