Lee Evans taking the blame for the loss

There is still an important ex-Bill still left standing - Fewell and he has the best chance to ground the Brady mystique into LucasOil's artificial dust. -
Article on Bills' new QB coach
Fan in Chicago replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Therein lies the rub. He probably saw the Jets commitment to Sanchez and thought it is too risky a situation to coach such an underperformer. He probably thinks Fitz is more 'coachable' and Sanchez is just dumber than a box of rocks. -
Giants at 49ers game thread

Aikman said something to the effect that "The Lambeau leap is grand fathered in". Whatever that means ! To your point about Tynes, he did give props to his team mates "Eli, offense, defense played great. ...." What else do you want him to say ? Also, in clutch situations, even short to medium field goals are not automatic. There is much more going on than the activities on the field. The mind can be the kicker worst enemy but Tynes delivered the GW FG. Props to the entire Giants team including Tynes. -

Feel bad for him ? For what ? He was always a good team mate. But to have the ball hit him in the hands for a potential chance to get to the Superbowl and him not fight for it or make an extra effort to secure it ? KNowing the defender was so close to him ? He is no rookie, he has several years in the league. Both these weekend's games came down to plays at critical moments (as the playoff games should be) and mistakes decisively swing the result one way or another. As a long term defender of Evans, I was very disappointed in his lack of total effort in such a huge moment. I just don't feel bad for him, it was his lack of effort that put the Pats* yet again in the Superbowl. -
If Luck turns out to be all he is made out to be, then whoever becomes the the HC will have the cushiest job in the NFL for the next 10 years.

There is no excuse for wishing ill on any player. I think the obsession with ex-Bills stems from the fact that we have a driving need to know how good our FO is with judging talent. easy example - I did not like the decision to not spend more to retain Whitner. But seeing his two mistakes leading to two Saints TDs made me believe that the FO (and Bill in NYC) knows more than me regarding safety talent.

Green Bay Miscues - Basis?
Fan in Chicago replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Couple of factors: - Rusty Rodgers as many have stated already which disrupted the timing just enough against a very prepared Giants team - Coaching: it is the coaches job to have the team ready regardless of the circumstances. Also, sitting Rodgers for the last game was not a good idea and it is again the coach's decision - Aggressive (and did I say ready)Giants team and a very very accurate Eli Manning. He is looking better as seasons go on and despite big bro owning most records, baby bro may end up with more rings in their careers -
Polamalu's are literally always standing on end. Matthews' on the other hand, are better managed. Despite his wearing pink gloves, he refused a Pantene endorsement because the name sounded too similar to a female undergarment.

Not that I am a Tebow fan, but it will be a great weekend if indeed the Tebow-led Broncos beat the holier-than-thou Brady-led Pats*

Players I don't think will be back

Troup may well turn out to be an awful pick but probably not for football reasons. -

Nix has said he would like FJax and SJohnson back but he made no such solid statement about Parrish. Nix seems to be a straight shooter. When he sayd "it is up to him" he can be surmised to mean that the team has made their final offer and it is up to the player to show willingness to accept or negotiate a reasonably close offer. (See: Whitner, Poz) We may differ in our opinion about should he be back but signs about him really brought back are looking slim. -

And thats the rub - flashes of brilliance do not do the team much good if he is not on the field much. We cannot invest yet another year in the hope that he will last the season. If we keep him, we do not add a player of similar skills and set ourselves back a year at that position -

I think SJohnson may stay as he was on the field a lot this past season and the coaches seem to like him. The opposite is true of ADavis - he seemed to be in the doghouse and may not return. Scott should be kept as he has experience at that position. Bell may be given another year to see if he can stay healthy I forgot about Chandler and agree he needs to be here for his production Easley - no comments as I dont' know much about medicine -

I hear what you are saying, in this post and the previous. But this FO does not ensure we have replacements before cutting those they think do not fit the team's strategy (for better or worse). Aaron Williams and Justin Rogers are our definites. Based on injury (McGee) and underperformance (McK, Corner), we may be looking for a lot of CB help. But that is just my take on it. The consensus so far, in this thread, is that McK stays. I think he goes if we get something in a trade. I too doubt he will be cut outright. -
This upcoming offseason will be extremely important as I believe Gailey will be fighting for his job next season. Despite Mr Wilson's plea for patience and lowering the expectations by saying it will take a few more years to build a winner, the ticket sales will dictate a different strategy. In that background, a key step is making important personnel moves. While acquiring talent is important, it is also crucial to know when to cut the cord and give opportunities to other personnel to improve the team. Here are my picks for players who may not be Bills in 2012: -Roscoe Parrish: Today it was reported that Nix has not made up his mind. His contract is up and considering his inability to stay on the field, he is a player who occupies a roster spot and has the coaches draw up offensive strategies in the offseason only to see them dashed when he goes down again. - McKelvin: This will be a semi-surprise. McK finally showed some flashes in the return game, suffice to say that he has underperformed. Even if we forget his draft position, he is just not an instinctive and smart CB. He is signed through 2012 but Nix will try to trade him and if we get anything of value, he may be history - Reggie Corner: his contract is up. He is okay under desperate conditions but he is too small and not a very good DB. I think he will not be back unless we just need some CBs for depth (and esp if McK indeed is traded/cut) On the bubble: - Troup: He is an enigma. We just dont know how good a contributor he will be as he hasn't seen the field enough to show us what he has. Perhaps he should have had the back surgery a long time back, but I am no doctor. We have good DTs in Williams, Dareus and maybe Heard. If Troup does not have a good camp, his job with the Bills may be in jeapordy Opinions? Thoughts ?

Wow -- player revolt against Sanchez
Fan in Chicago replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While we Bills fans may gloat at the Jets' situation, they have the full offseason to fix things. Their reeling has no effect on this season or the next. The mettle of that franchise's administration will be tested, yes, but they have several good players already. Some good management, tough decisions and coaching can make sure that these current troubles do not affect next season. -
In the games I have seen, Sanchez seems to have the physical tools but not a quick mind to make decisions. Far too often, he looks like he is over-thinking his throws. Does not seem natural. The FO had built a great OL for him and he should have been in an ideal position to succeed. My vote goes towards Sanchez being the primary reason for their offense's inability to perform at a high level.

A victim of Sanchez's underperformance.

Packers OC has other things on his mind right now

What a terrible tragedy. No parent should have to bury their kid The report -
Till now, I was sympathetic to him and recognized that his draft position was not his fault. However, he now makes these statements and burnt up any goodwill fans such as me had towards him. Very un-classy.

Thanx for giving me 2 seconds of happiness before bursting my bubble. Hope the chicken in your lunch is rotten.

Buddy Nix press conference today @11am

I cannot hear from work, but from the summaries here, I am glad that: - he did not preach 'patience' - Did not talk about needing 'runners' - Acknowledged skill gap in WR & pass rushing corps Let us see who they actually draft, but I still think we should draft a QB high if there is one the FO likes. Let him learn behind Fitz. Free Agent wide receiver list is quite extensive and can be found here: Dwayne Bowe, Vincent Jackson are both good choices. Perhaps Earl Bennett as a wild card but not too sure about him. -
If I am not mistaken, the 1992 Cowboys had the #1 D under Wanny. They ofcourse also has Jim Jeffcoat, Charles Haley etc but so many years of top 10 Ds cannot be merely coincidences or simply the result of having superior players only. I am sure he will provide input during the free agency and draft. I feel better about the D's prospects already. I was getting tired of these 'promising coordinators' who cannot deliver in Buffalo. A proven DC is a breath of fresh air
