  1. I am wondering if we are going to keep only 2 QBs on the active roster. Perhaps the plan is to pull Tuel from the PS if anything untoward were to happen to EJ or Orton. Back to your point, we should have a developmental prospect now, as the #3 on the active roster. It does not serve the team well in the short term to draft said prospect next year as it will be 3-4 years before he can be any good (if at all).
  2. Must have been written by a Bills fan. It's too perfect.
  3. Perhaps this is what Marrone was yelling at Whaley about ,' please get these sorry excuses of QBs out of here'.
  4. Problem is, it's not just about topics related to QB . even discussing WRs or TEs immediately goes into a tangent of 'what's the point if the QB can't get him the ball'.
  5. This is a painful lesson for me to always read the TOS before signing on.
  6. If true - wow! Imminent signing off a developmental prospect? Pryor?
  7. The Trent Richardson trade takes the cake but the Bills came out ahead in this one too. Problem is, the Colts tanked at just the right time to suck into Luck and this will likely color all these missteps. Much like Polian's tenure with the Colts was terrible but was covered up by the Manning draft.
  8. And yet another thread devolves into an EJ bash fest.
  9. Most likely explanation - Whaley was trying to get Orton who wouldn't commit. But EJ and Tuel had to be protected from injury. So, Palmer was a warm body to simply play the last game of preseason till Orton realized he has no better option. Preseason over, Palmer's role was done and got cut. Orton calls Whaley from his sauna and agrees to sign.
  10. I have been very vocal about getting Orton since he was released by the Boys. IMHO, this is the best move that Whaley could have made. Should have happened several weeks back to let him learn the offense and the players. But, better late than never. He will take time to come up to speed, but getting him instantly covers us on the downside. Our QB position is suddenly a whole lot better. Go Bills!!
  11. Do you say that because you are happy with our QB situation or because you think there is a better alternative out there? At this point I will settle for 'solid insurance' Honest question- what did he do in Dallas that makes you say that?
  12. Or it could turn out to be a promising player like Seantrel Henderson. My point is, get what you can for worthless roster clutter like TJ Graham. I disagree with you regarding him being a likely decent player - even in flashes.
  13. And yet couldn't get anything for TJ. Quite telling. Assuming we keep 6 WRs, the marginal player is better to be ST contributor like Easley or a hard worker like Hogan.
  14. For a small meal (<$10), I would say a buck or two is appropriate. The fact that the owner is busting his rear to keep costs low should have nothing to do with your decision to tip. As long as he provided you the service you expect, he deserves a tip. I used to visit a small town in Texas which had a coffee place which doubled as a lunchtime diner also. Food was ordered and picked up at a counter. Very few of the locals tipped , but I always put in $2 for a $9 lunch** **The fact that the girls were cute, with low cut blouses and talked nicely to me had no bearing on my decision to tip.
  15. At this point, it is tough to make a fair judgment of Palmer considering he only has had a few days with the Bills offense. If he plays terribly tonight, we will not know if the reason is that he didn't train enough with the system and players or because he plain sucks. Evidence of the latter is plenty given his history in the league. I truly hope he was signed just for competitive intelligence and the Bills still plan to get a vet as backup/insurance.
  16. Can't wait. Those not in Chicago,
  17. Well then if SJ is let go by the 49ers and picked up by Houston, we will have our test cases complete - Gailey+Fitz+SJ (Bills), Fitz by himself (Titans), SJ by himself (49ers) and then Fitz+SJ (Texans). While I realize the control variables are not accurate (the rest of the teams matter), they may give us an idea whether the combination of the three maximized the potential of each individual.
  18. IMO, the Bears made some mistakes the last few years. Among them: - Letting Lovie Smith go - Poor drafting in the 1st round - Letting McCown go - Extending Cutler, especially to that huge contract. I would have kept McCown and drafted a QB high. The money saved could be spent on free agents on D
  19. This was the crux of my concern before and after last year's draft. The seeds of the QB problem were sown long before last draft. Nix made a major blunder by not prioritizing the QB position and/or incorrectly evaluating Fitz as the long term answer. Much as the 49ers did, he should have taken a QB early in his tenure despite the brief flashes that Fitz showed. Painting himself into a corner caused what you note above. Picking for position than BPA almost always gets a team in trouble over the long run. Be that as it may, the problem continues to be compounded by a bone-headed confidence in one QB. I am NOT saying that EJ sucks - I am talking overall strategy regarding the QB position.
  20. In principle, I didn't mind the Marrone hire. But, hiring a rookie OC for a rookie QB is a disaster waiting to happen.
  21. That clears that up. I was wondering who is the only dumba$$ fellow poster to vote 'not foul'
  22. Okay. though the extra 'd' got me.
  23. Ex-Bill. Alan Branch. "Branch was taken into custody after authorities noticed him throwing up out of the driver's side of his car in the town of Cheektowaga, N.Y., a city about seven miles outside of Buffalo"
  24. If anything, Whaley has not shown himself to be a man of patience. If the offense stinks and he believes the OC is the main culprit, IMO, Whaley will make a move mid-season.
