If you agree, then the post wasn't written for you. I've just read through much of this thread again, and many people tend to ignore the posts that make sense, and argue against what amounts to the lowest quality posts to try and win an argument.

Why are we still even worrying about disecting the play of JP Losman? Haven't we done enough of that over the last ~4 years? Look, he will always show flashes of why he was drafted in the first round despite being not much more than a punching bag who threw the ball far in college. His talent level is probably top 10 in the NFL. When you see that talent, you want to believe that at some point he can put it to good use. The problem is, he's worn out his welcome here. We gave him enough time, he didn't lose his job because of his injury, he lost it because the light bulb just has never gone on for him. Will it at his next stop? I dont think so, but it's possible. I just dont understand how it's possible that he still seems to be the EXACT same player he was in his first season as a starter. This is his job, he has spent countless hours going over the tape of his play, and he still hasn't improved his weaknesses. This, to me, shows a lack of understanding and potential as an NFL quarterback. I dont care if he is or is not to blame for the loss in Arizona. I am just judging JP as our backup quarterback, and I dont at all feel comfortable with him in the game. I'm not suggesting that there is someone better on our roster, or that he is a below average backup. What I AM saying is that, if Trent Edwards misses any extended amount of time, we will have trouble winning with JP at the helm.

You know what play really just made me sit back and notice the true difference between jp and Trent? It wasn't a big play, most of you may not even really remember it. It was a play in the first half, where jp went back to pass, seemed to lock onto someone downfield for an extra second while lynch was out in the flat wide open. By the time jp checked the ball down to him, there was a linebacker shooting towards him. Because of jp's lack of recognition, he turned what would have been at least a 7 yard gain into a 1 yard gain. This play just really illustrates why I love watching Trent play. He gets the ball to our playmakers and let's them make plays. Jp waits and waits and waits, and when he finally finds someone, the defense usually finds them as well. Sorry about the formatting, writing from my phone.

Did you read the sentence right after "he just doesn't get it"? just because someone looks good throwing a football far doesn't make him an NFL quarterback

I guess in a way, I also blame trents injury on the loss rather than our defense. I don't think I'm saying they gave up, just that they were forced to play a different game than they prepared for. And, since you just asked someone else, this was indeed posted from my phone

I don't understand the premise of the people defending jp. Are you saying he didn't cause the loss or that he played well? Yes, the defense was terrible, does that mean we can't judge how well jp played? He showed the same shortcomings today as he showed when he first came in the league. You can definitely see the talent, but he just doesn't get it. He doesn't get rid of the ball at the right time, and he doesn't put the ball in a place where his receivers can catch it and go. I don't blame jp for the loss, he was trying out there, but I think you can say that when your #1 qb gets injured on the first drive, the entire game is changed, and usually changed for the worse.

I know that JP, and I sure dont love him...

I really do not believe the loss of McGee is a HUGE loss. I think Greer is by far our best cover corner. McGee tends to play off the receiver more than Greer, and I dont see why McKelvin cant step in there and do a decent job. I'd have to say that the loss of Boldin far outweighs the loss of McGee.
-
Any chance we can lock this guy up long term? Is he unrestricted after this season? I'd much rather keep him and let McGee walk after next year, and have McKelvin, Greer and Youboty as our 3 CBs.

Well, I wonder how you would act if you were the best to ever do something... -
" Gotta love how Ashton has shown up this year. The guy has been one of our top 5 defensive players this year.

Has Youboty earned the nickle CB spot?
mike22nc replied to generaLee83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, Youboty is 1 year older than Mckelvin, and 1 year younger than Corner...He was a first round talent who came out for the draft too early. Hopefully he's just coming into his own now. The last thing I'd want is to trade a guy like that for a mid round pick, which is all we'd get for him. -
If Wes Welker is worth 38 million over 6 years

You discount Lee's ability I think...If he's worth a billion gajillion over infinity years, that means he's worth ~0 per year since: 1 billion gajillion/infinity approaches 0 -
Thought of a very good mcgahee trade!!

Um...I'm thinking maybe it's because Pacman may be going to jail for his part in a shooting at a club during the NBA allstar weekend, and that the Titans may end up just cutting the guy after his repeated scrapes with the law. He fits in REAL well with the type of player Marv and Co. are looking for... D'oh -
6'2" 165--Either a WR who doesn't go over the middle or a CB who doesn't hit...

The definition of troll is: "I know this guy is messing around trying to argue something he doesn't really believe just to get a rise out of people, yet I still want to stab the sh-- out of him." At least that's how I feel right now...

right now we pick 6th in the draft ...

Um, we just lost by a point to the best team in the NFL. People around here are frigging ridiculous... -
It's been good for Lindell for the last 2 years, he hasn't had to make a pressure kick. Now down a point against the undefeated Colts he has a chance to take the lead. Too much pressure for him...

I just looked at my last post, and I dont want anyone thinking that I believe Jordan is better than McGahee. I was just putting his year in perspective.
-
Ummm...Lamont Jordan was pretty good last year. 1025 yards rushing in 14 games and was a big threat in the passing game. If he played the entire 16 games, his stats project to 1171 yards rushing on 311 carries with 10 TD rushing and 643 yard receiving on 80 catches with 2 TD. That's 7 TD and 389 yards more than McGahee had last year...

has anyone brought up drew's performance
mike22nc replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I find this argument to be vapid and completely incorrect. If Bledsoe played error free (I dont consider the safety a mistake by Losman, but by our O-line) football, with a 65% completion rate and 164 yards on 15 completions, we'd have all been happy. How often did Bledsoe only take 3 sacks in a game? How often was Bledsoe able to avoid the rush and make a play like Losman did yesterday? Also, something that I haven't seen brought up too much, the game was unbelievably short, with only 50 offensive plays for the Bills. This is pretty much due to the Bills inability to stop the rush, keeping the clock running. I dont see how you can discount Losman's ability to put points on the board when the game was going to be low scoring by default. Losman's stats by drive First drive: Losman 4/5 43 yds Second drive: 3/3 36 yds Third drive: 0/1 incomplete on third and 6 Fourth drive: 1/2 6 yds, after being sacked by unblocked Colvin on 1st and 10 Fifth drive: 2/4 19 yds incomplete on third and 7 Sixth drive: 4/5 50yds Drive stalls at 7 when McGahee is stopped on 4th and 1 Seventh drive: 0/1 holding declined on 3rd down incomplete pass on 3rd and 8 Eighth drive: 0/1 sacked for a safety on 3rd and 11 Ninth drive: 1/1 10 yds Illegal block in the back negates first down pass Where would you like him to improve? Is he suppose to convert every third down? Complete every pass? With the opportunities he was given, he played very very well. I'm not even going to put qualifiers, such as 'for his ninth career start', on his performance. He played well regardless... -
Um...this topic has gotten to page 2 without any mention of the Juice?
