  1. i am going with the assumption that we will not be able to draft brady quinn. he will be the first or second pick in the draft.
  2. would love to see us draft rb darius walker out of notre dame. reminds me of thurman. he has speed to get to the corner, can run between the tackles, and can catch the ball. i also like the wr smad-something. your thoughts
  3. can't believe we blew that game. the schedule for the rest of the season does not look appealing for us. if we are lucky we will beat green bay, houston, miami, and the titans. when do we blow this thing up and start over again?
  4. I don't normally like to say I told you so...
  5. The Bears remind me alot of the Pats. They play just well enough to win, no matter who the opponent may be. That's all that counts. The only piece that was missing was a competent qb with a rocket for an arm. He will only get better with experience. The RB gets the tough yards and can protect the qb from getting killed. The WR do not scare anyone. Both lines are tough. The DL are the studs. Same as the Pats. This is what happens when you spend a night drinking.
  6. the pats have allowed him to seek a trade. he would look good in a bills uniform opposite evans. what would you give up for him?
  7. was reading that the falcons have 2 players that i think would make the bills respectable going into next season. qb matt schaub and rb tj duckett contracts are up at the end of the year. both would look good in bills uniforms. schaub is very good. duckett would make our rb spot with willis maybe the most feared in the league. duckett will be expendable with the emergence of the rookie norwood. your thoughts
  8. The Falcons like the rookie Norwood to replace TJ Duckett. He would be an awesome duo with WM. Let's trade Price to the Falcons for Duckett--lol. Kidding aside, I would not mind Duckett in a Bills uniform.
  9. Had an evil thought--Tom Donohoe as GM of the Texans. Eric Moulds would drop a load.
  10. I have been reading all the posts on Willis. Willis is 24. He has been a pampered athlete. The sh-- is about to hit the fan either this season or next. This season he must learn a new system. Even sleep walking he should get at least 1000 yards. I think next year his contract is up. He will be a second year in the system. The o-line and qb situation should be squared away. The offense will be hand the ball to Willis and run right, hand the ball to Willis to run left, or hand the ball to Willis to run up the gut. Either he will become the best back in the league or not. It will not be due to a lack of carries. I think we should have drafted a rb to push and motivate Willis. Lendale White in the second round would have been nice. The new Bills regime will not give Willis the big bucks if he can't produce on the field. Remember Bruce Smith was not a model citizen, but come game day, he was a force to be reckoned with.
  11. if huff were available, we could have taken him and then traded up for donte whitmer instead of mccargo
  12. the birds may have had the best offseason in the league. they de abraham from the jets. they pair cb williams with db deangelo hall
  13. mark it down--we will get qb brady quinn of notre dame in 2007 draft. all the other qbs will be filing for disability by the end of this season.
  14. take lendale white late in the first round to motivate wm
  15. The only way our team will ever be any good is to have open competition at every position. Every player on the team should have the opportunity to replace the starter at any time. Every coach that has won a super bowl has done this. That being said, we draft the best available athlete in the draft at #8. It should not matter who is on the team now. We need to draft the best player available-period. During our Super Bowl runs we had the best players at each position on the field. Our NT then was Jeff Wright. Can anyone honestly remember what round and from where he was drafted? Frank Reich led us the greatest comeback in history. Franchises like the Steelers and the Pats come to mind. Bill Parcell's NY Giant teams also. That being said I think If Vernon Davis falls to us we draft him. All the blocking in the world won't help if the wr's aren't consistently open. Besides our o-line is going to take more than this off season to fix. Hope Reed steps up. A double TE set of Davis and Royal and Willis in the backfield could be sweet. At least the QB will have options throwing short. Even by drafting Davis at #8 if available, we will not be much better going into next year's draft. I don't see winning more than 6 games. Marv will draft Brady Quinn of Notre Dame to be the franchise's new face. He will be Marv's Jim Kelly. That's my rant.
  16. Eli showed improvement from one season to the next. JP has not. I never said get rid of him this season. No matter where JP goes he will need to take his lumps in order to gain experience. Marv will draft Brady Quinn in 2007.
  17. Marv is going to get rid of anybody on this team who he deems stinks. It doesn't matter who is under center for the next few seasons. They had better be durable. No qb in this entire league will succeed behind our o-line. We wanted Big Ben. Would he have succeeded under the lack of leadership in Buffalo? Mark my words the 2007 draft has Marv's qb of the future--Brady Quinn of Notre Dame. This will be Marv's Jim Kelly. It will be a few years before we are a decent team much less a playoff team. The o-line will not be rebuilt overnight or in one season. The Giants suffered in Eli's first season.
  18. The reason I liked this idea is because Buffalo is a cold weather city. We have not a rb tandem to put the fear of G-d into anyone. I agree that WM and TJ will not become the fastest rb's in the league. We need rb's who can gain positive yardage and not fumble. TJ is more than big enough to become a fullback. One of my favorite rb's was Rob Carpenter. Not the fastest guy on the planet but he played his heart out. Oh John Riggins was pretty good too. With big ass rb's Marv will concentrate on the line. The offense will be major doses of running the ball. We will see if WM is the best back in the league this season. Having TJ to rest him sounds nice to me. The qb will be asked to hand the ball off and throw the occasion pass. In the 2007 draft I bet somehow, someway, we will draft Brady Quinn of Notre Dame. He is a Jim Kelly clone. Big ass rbs, tough qb, a tough sound line? It won't happen this year but one can dream--lol!! Your thoughts
  19. Read on Sporting News that TJ Duckett is going to be trade bait. That being said, would you trade Moulds for Duckett? The backfield tandem of Willis and Duckett would be impressive.
  20. We are running the 4-3 defense with a cover 2-at least that's the plan for this season? Umm, how is our defense going to benefit us? Does anyone really think Takeo and Tripllett will make us a top 15 defense? Angelo Crowell did well replacing Takeo. He may have to again this season if Takeo is not 100%. Cowart had this same injury and was never the same.
  21. At some point this season our o-line may very well be: Villarial and Geisinger at tackle, Preston at center, Peters and Gandy or McFarland at guard, with Royal at TE. I hope there will be alot of ice and pain killers for the rb and qb. I remember that when we drafted Geisinger that he was a major coup for us. We drafted Preston to be the center let's see what he can do. Would like to see RB Lionel Gates get some reps.
  22. With Marv as the new GM we will be in for a long road. If anyone thinks we are a playoff caliber team this year or even next year, then you're delusional. Marv is not enamored with JP at the qb spot. Marv is going to weed out the team and throw JP to the wolves. It doesn't matter who is under center for us--what we have on the roster ain't that great. The o-line is pathetic. I see us winning 4 games-that's being generous- and with the first pick in the 2007 draft--Marv selects Brady Quinn out of Notre Dame. Quinn will have time to develop like Rivers or Carson while Marv builds the o-line. Quinn will be Marv's new version of Jim Kelly. The present qbs are basically cannon fodder. If the best we can do for qb competition is JP, KH, and possibly Nall--we are doomed this season. The o-line will learn to run block alot and Willis will get many carries. We only have one wr who is stuck here--Evans. Slam me all you want. Nobody is beating down our door as a FA to be here. Marv will build through the draft. Mark my words, but by hook or by crook 2007 Marv selects Brady Quinn to turn the franchise around.
  23. The Ravens have re-signed Lewis. They also just signed Mike Anderson. Screw the passing game. How would you like to be the safety trying to tackle one of these guys.
  24. We could really be hating life if the stinking Fish sign Brees and Givens. Add those two to Chambers and MacDaniels--wow that would be brutal to deal with. The Pats are going to come back with a chip on their shoulder. We will be nowhere near these two.
  25. It could be worse. I have had time to think/dwell about the team. What do you want to bet Fat Mike will sign with the Texans? Guard David Carr's ass and be a multiple pro bowler. I find it hard to believe that Mike suddenly became "dain bramaged" enough to understand how not to block. I think Marv is going to seriously clean out the cupboards. I think Marv will basically have us looking like an expansion team salary and talent wise this coming season. Whoever is going to be the QB better have that other insurance "Asscrack". A poor o-line leads to dismal seasons. We are a cold weather team. Marv understands this. When Marv was the coach, we were THE top rushing team-the combo of Thomas and Davis was special!!!. That requires a good o-line. It doesn't mean trhe biggest-err fattest line. Jim Kelly would not fare well behind the line we have now. Jim has basically stated that how well Thermal did, that is how well the rest of the team did for that day. I hope one of our tight ends comes through and establishes himself.. The passing game has sucked since Pete Metz-my spelling stinks-retired. I would not be opposed to drafting the te out of Colorado-Kleinsomethingorother. He is like 6'9"--like Pete. Let Moulds go. No point in keeping a high priced wr until we can give the qb time to throw. Sign Joe Juriwhatever. If Trent Dilfer can win a Super Bowl, anyone can. I can't even name the te or wr's on that team that won it all. Bill Parcells and Billichump has shown us how to win a Super Bowl. It all starts with the o-line. Without that nothing else will happen. The qb's job is simple--manage the game. A workhorse rb behind a dominating line will make any qb look good. I would love to see Jamal Lewis or Mike Anderson in a Bill's uniform to compliment Willis. Maybe that will light a fire under Willis's ass. Your thoughts
