  1. Timing is kind of weird on this story. Free agency is still 4 weeks away. Either Bills have no interest in bringing him back or they are so far apart in negotiations they’ve mutually decided to move on.
  2. $15m of Wentz’s 2022 salary becomes guaranteed this March so they’d have $15m dead cap in 2022.
  3. Yeah, because he’s got an All World arm and has the arm strength to throw the ball all over the field. Goff doesn’t have that. At 43, Brady wins because he can still make all the throws and but mostly because he’s a once in a century team leader at the QB position.
  4. Mahomes and Watson changed the NFL. Crazy that those 2 weren’t selected until the 10th and 12th picks. NFL has changed drastically in the last 3-4 years. All about dynamic traits at the QB position now.
  5. And Wentz to Colts was the easiest to predict.
  6. Not exactly a ringing endorsement from the Colts if that’s all they were willing to give up.
  7. Watt would be smart to sign before Von Miller hits market. Watt has it to himself now.
  8. I don’t know. Suh, Gronk, and Fournette were all 1 year types that made a huge difference for Tampa.
  9. Newton is better than most backups but nobody is giving him a starting job or even chance at one after the year he put up in New England. With limited cap space, I would very confidently bet the under on somebody giving him $5m.
  10. Dude probably not getting the offers he thought he would.
  11. I’d be happier with Watt, Milano, and Williams.
  12. I’d be alright with signing Williams and Ngakoue and letting Milano walk.
  13. I can’t see anybody paying him more than $2-3m for 1 year. For somebody who’s made $70m in his career, the guy’s gotta really love playing to come back and play for $2-3m.
  14. If he’s better and cheaper than Butler, then I’m for it. Same with WAtt. He’s better than Addison and Jefferson combined and most likely cheaper than those 2 combined.
  15. I think you bring back McKenzie and spend Brown’s money on a real Tight End.
  16. Reddick would be interesting. And there is a connection as it seems he’s boys with Dawkins and Matekevich from his college days. He’s not a Milano replacement as he plays a different position but this defense definitely needs playmakers in its front 6.
  17. I’d be shocked if Brown gets anywhere near $9m per year if cut by the Bills. A lot of really good WR’s on the free agent market and a declining cap could really hurt a guy like Brown. I wouldn’t wanna be looking for a team if I were him. I’d pounce on $5m guaranteed this year I were him.
  18. 2nd rounder at most for Darnold. Was in a bad situation but showed almost no improvement in 3 years. I think I’d take a chance on Mariota over Darnold.
  19. Clements got overpaid by 49ers. Winfield was the guy to keep. He was a winner. Same with Pat Williams. Donahoe usually ended up out-smarting himself.
  20. handshake deal involves Texans trusting Watt. They did him a huge favor cutting him now. None of his 2021 money was guaranteed until 1st game of 2021 season. Good luck finding somebody in late August who has the cap space and hasn’t already filled their needs. NFL owners didn’t become Billionaires giving anything away for free. Unless McNair is a total fool, he told Watt I’ll give you your release now as long as I don’t have to play you twice a year and remind Texans fans how inept I am.
  21. we all know he was released. Doesn’t mean there wasn’t a handshake deal that he can sign with anyone but the 3 teams in their division. Thurman was kicked to the curb.
  22. Thurman was po’d when Bills cut him. Watt wanted his release. Unless Texans are even more inept that everybody thinks, you trade him to the Jets for a 5th round pick before you do him any favors and let him go to a team in your division.
  23. They traded Dee Ford to SF for a 2nd round pick after his Offside penalty cost them trip to super bowl. They traded a 1st rounder to Seattle for Frank Clark and gave him a huge contract. They signed Alex Okafor for 3 year $18m. Doesn’t look like they did much at DT unless I’m missing something. I’d compare their overhaul to bringing in a Watt and Ngoukae and cutting Addison, Butler and/or Jefferson since nobody’s trading anything for those guys.
  24. Sr was a hell of a player. One of the toughest little dudes I can remember. Not sure how he would’ve fared in the pass happy NFL of today. Most of his impact plays were in run support. Maybe he would’ve been a safety like Jr.
  25. i haven’t watched many Vikings games, but Kyle Rudolph is mentioned as potential cap casualty there. He’s a big dude who’s viewed as a good blocker, more along the lines of a Gronk. If he has anything left, he might be the type who can help the offense with his blocking and ability to move the chains when we need to grind it out.
