I’d keep our 2nd this year and next years 1st, but I like your idea. I’d be open to trade a 3rd this year and a 2nd next year. That’d probably get us in the 17-18 range. If Pitts, Farley, or Owusu fall, I’d rather go get an elite talent than trade down.

I don’t think Beane is done. Just think he’s still waiting for prices to come down on the veteran ring chasers.

Ossai looks maxed out and stiff to me. Doesn’t even crack Jeremiah’s top 50. I trust his opinion. Phillips and Paye seem to have potential but pass rushers who are ready Day 1 or don’t have huge question marks don’t usually last to the mid teens. And we drafted one of those guys last year. You gotta go into the top 10 for those guys. I think Owusu would step on the field Day 1 and immediately provide a boost to this defense. If I’m trading up into the mid teens, I want a Day 1 starter and somebody who’s moving the needle immediately.

I’m not a draftnik, but those dudes seem kind of Jag-ish. Maybe not Phillips but seems like there’s huge question marks with him. I’d be happy with Phillips at pick 30.

Outside of a stud Pass rusher which will not be available in the mid teens, he’s exactly what this defense needs. Different ways to skin a cat. We’re not re-creating TB’s pass rush. Next best thing is bringing in a Tight End Eraser who brings speed and violence.

I think it’s less akin to borrowing against your credit card and more akin to taking a loan from your 401k. It can be frowned upon but there are times when it makes sense liking using it as a down payment for a home when you’re renting or to pay off high interest credit card debt. Whereas it’s never smart to taking out a 2nd credit card to pay off a first. I think Beane will borrow against his 401k for the right player. Like Watt or Ertz or Gronk. I don’t think he was gonna give out a huge deal to a young player before he gives Josh his deal.

I’d be willing to give up our 3rd rounder and next years 2nd to go up and get Jeremiah Owusu-koramoah. He’d be perfect for our defense. Violent fast big impact playmaker. Him in the big nickel would be unfair.

If he doesn’t get big offers, this could make a lot of sense. McDermott has a good track record with DB’s. Jackson could rebuild his value for a year while Bills get a low cost CB2. But I imagine some CB needy team will give him a nice contract.

How many roster spots are even really available? A DB/big nickel, a non-Jag D Lineman, a non-JAG TE, backup OT, non-JAG RB, returner/WR. I count 6. Probably filled by 3 draft picks and 3 lower priced vets.

Giants have less cap space than us. If you want somebody, the cap doesn’t stop you.

Didn’t know Titans voided his guarantees. Jaguars did that with Fournette but he fought it. I’ve never heard of a veterans guarantees being voided. Must be something written into rookie contracts that make their guarantees easier to void.

As a 1st rounder, his entire contract was guaranteed. So if he somehow gets it together and gets another chance in the next 3 years, he’ll unbelievably make more money than he would’ve if he played out his rookie contract the next 3 years

That’s a $5m dead cap hit for a team that only had $11m in cap space. Awful trade.

I’m saying spotrac is a non-official cap website. They still have teams over the cap which clearly isn’t accurate. Claiming the Bills can’t process contracts they’ve agreed to because Spotrac hasn’t processed the numbers is garbage reporting.

Misleading lede. Spotrac, while accurate, isn’t an official cap number for the Bills. Claiming that the Bills don’t have enough cap room to process contracts which they’ve already agreed to is complete conjecture. Garbage reporting.

If Ertz gets cut, I assume he’s going to the Colts. You’d think Roseman would be happy to get a 5th just so he doesn’t go to Colts and it turns into Brady and Gronk part 2.

Might be a sneaky good addition when we look back. Good athlete. Comfortable with Josh. Tight Ends take awhile. Doubt he gets more than $2m. Worth a chance.

People’s heads gonna explode when Beane signs both Watkins and Clowney. Does Tampa make their playoff run without Suh and Fournette? Does KC win Super Bowl without Watkins in 2019? You need talented guys to step up to win it all because the best teams can take your best players out of games. Ain’t gonna win a championship with all choir boys. And it’s not like Watkins is a bad citizen.

Because it was the wrong time for him. He’s proven to not be a building block, but he’s shown he can be a piece that gets you over the top.

Would you rather win a title or hold grudges against 20 year olds? Don’t want Gronk because of a heat of the moment dirty play. No Sammy because he was immature in his early 20’s. Dudes mature. Save your hate for the wife and child beaters.

If true that he’s in Buffalo, I can’t imagine there’s any other reason than meeting with the Bills. He’s got nothing better to do at the beginning of free agency than flying to Buffalo?

Isn’t he coming off an injury? Could be reason he’s in town for a physical.

He’d be an elite gadget guy and returner if he’s come around to accepting that’s who he is.
