  1. How about Ertz for Fromm? Doesn’t look like there’s many QB’s with draft-able grades outside the top 7-8 QB’s. Could make an argument that Fromm might go late 3rd/early 4th in this draft. Hurts probably isn’t the long term answer but can’t see Eagles drafting a QB this year. Bills have Trubisky and I’m sure would love to bring back Barkley as the 3rd string on a vet minimum deal. Get it done Beane.
  2. Looking back, there was a lot of arrogance from the Josh doubters. There’s differences of opinion and then there’s people who speak with certainty about things that are borderline impossible to predict. I mean you have a guy like Gil Brandt who’s done this for 60 years rank Josh his 7th overall prospect while some internet loser claims Josh has almost no chance to succeed in the NFL.
  3. Interesting comments about Barmore. McDermott’s Philly area connections might come in handy here.
  4. I don’t like taking a RB in the 1st round, but this is a unique year. The lack of info on these prospects probably pushes RB’s up the draft board because RB’s are easier to scout and project. Do you roll the dice on a guy like Farley or take more of a sure thing in Etienne?
  5. I think the biggest X factor for Josh was his ability to run. Nobody seemed to see that and it kept him on the field until his passing came around.
  6. 1st rounder for a 33 year old WR making $15m this year? Good luck with that.
  7. Yeah. Kind of how I feel. Although I kind of hope etienne is picked before us so Beane doesn’t have to make that choice.
  8. They were back to back years. At least give him credit for cutting his losses on Rosen. Admitting mistakes is almost as important as hitting on your picks.
  9. There’s no way we’re trading down. Yes, everybody happy with Diggs trade, but Beane ain’t going another year without a 1st rounder. I think we move up 5-6 spots for Farley. Wallace is a serviceable player but it’s finally time to end the Wallace/vet-nobody-wanted revolving door at CB2.
  10. If nobody wants him, why do we?
  11. New England’s RB’s were really good last year as a group. I’d probably say Harris. I really like the white guy from Nebraska they have too but he got hurt.
  12. Beane is tying himself into knots trying to make it seem that not exercising Edmunds 5th year option isn’t a major indictment on how the Bills feel about him.
  13. Cleveland had no problems exercising Ward and Mayfields 5th year options in same year.
  14. Kind of hard to ignore that they traded a 2022 1st round pick to go from 12 to 6. Unless they get more than a future 1st to trade back from 6, makes it look like Amateur hour.
  15. And for a reference point, Bills exercised Tre’s 5th year option one year ago today, which was the night before the 1st round of draft. And announced they were declining Shaq’s 5th year option on May 1, 2019, which was the week following the draft.
  16. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2020/05/2021-nfl-fifth-year-option-tracker I believe Bolles is only guy from 2017 draft still with original team who had his 5th year option declined. Surprised there was even 1.
  17. This. Picking up Josh’s 5th year option is a no brainer and should’ve been done yesterday. Seems bizarre that Beane is lumping the 2 decisions together for some reason.
  18. Why would Edmunds re-sign with Bills next year if they don’t exercise his 5th year option? There’s no incentive for him not to go to the highest bidder next year if Bills make him play out his rookie deal without guaranteed money in his 5th year. Maybe the Bills are OK with that and they’ll use franchise tag on him if he has a great year. But more likely scenario is he’s same guy this year and then he leaves. Pats built dynasty trading guys at the exact moment Edmunds is at right now.
  19. I didn’t call Grier clueless. More about wasting his time on spreading nonsensical rumors. Chargers were able to sit at 6 and get the best QB in the draft last year. So if anybody believed the patter Grier was spreading last year about selecting a Tackle at 5, the only thing it did was help the Chargers stay put and still get their guy. In what world does a rational organization trade a 1st rounder to move up to the 6th pick after trading back from 3 then trade back again? Grier might as well float the rumor that he’s trading back up to 3 for a QB. Makes as much sense.
  20. Because it insults our intelligence to even float this rumor. We’re supposed to believe the Dolphins are now gonna trade back after giving up a 2022 1st rounder to move up to the 6th pick? The beat writer for the Dolphins gave an interview last year after the draft and admitted the rumors the Dolphins floated last year about drafting one of the offensive tackles wasn’t something he believed but he had to report it anyway.
  21. Seems like if Bills don’t pick up his option, the odds of him returning next year are low. I know the calculus has changed with the 5th year option being fully guaranteed now, but I can’t think of anyone who re-upped with their old team when their 5th year option was declined.
  22. Wouldn’t shock me if Edmunds is traded on draft day. A team like Jax might give up a high 2nd rounder for Edmunds instead of drafting a Line Backer. They have plenty of cap space and 5 picks in the top 65. Hard to incorporate that many highly drafted rookies. If Bills draft a LB at pick 30, I think Edmunds is gone.
  23. Smart to get in front of this now instead of next Thursday. Because you know somebody would’ve leaked this last minute to hurt his stock.
  24. Never understood why an anonymous scout would be forthright. They’re all trying to feed a narrative about certain guys. Makes for good entertainment though. Only scouts take I’d trust is a Chiefs, Bills, or Chargers scout on the top QB prospects. Even then, they might fudge the truth to create narrative if a division rival is in that market.
