  1. "Textbook what not to do" if this crazy bastard does not denuclearize? I would suggest that textbook has been written by the world leaders of the past who allowed it to get this far. That would include American leadership as well. As for what to do now, well I guess we'll see how it goes.
  2. Many people were bothered by the lies of past presidents, but absent the left-leaning media yammering incessantly on about it, those who trust the MSM don't hear about it. Its As for "your guy lies worse than my guy," it bores me. Anyone wanting to debate the relative morality of Trump after watching Obama, Bush, Clinton has no high moral high ground at all. Their standard respone is a lot of foot stomping and then "I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT OBAMA..." which ends the conversation as far as I am concerned. I prefer to focus on the policies implememted that match my values and view of the world.
  3. What I meant was if lying was the hot button issue that caused the media to tilt, every president lies, and often spectacularly so. I've long admitted Obama was a smoother liar than Trump, but if the benchmark was "the president lied, so we're leaning the opposite way" then the media should have moved to the right after 8 years of Obama lies. But you raise a good point, that the media already swings left, and seems 100% comfortable reporting to support the left--it offers me very little of value. In fact, the link you sent has the WaPo reporting on this major security issue with no evidence supporting their allegation other than a cite to a NYT report and another WaPo story. Wouldn't you like to see some evidence? A statement from Kelly, acknowledgement of the transaction, a leaked document or something? They report a memo exists, where is it? The NYT story is no better. Lots of unnamed sources but little else. As a woke person, I see no reason to trust without verifying. To answer your question on lying, I'm no more or less bothered by it than I ever was with any past president. It's part of the job, and I see no point in squabbling over who's candidate is a nicer, smoother liar than someone elses. Your thoughts on past lies and why they were better?
  4. If your theory is correct, wouldn't the MSM have leaned right after the Obama years, or did were there no county-backsies in 2016?
  5. Plenz, we have a guy who has acknowledged lying, cheating and stealing and hes facing a long stretch in the pokey. You follow the path to exposing him as a liar, cheater and thief with major financial incentive to gain by turning this $#@stain collusion "investigation" into even more of a circus. It's SOP, not unlike the line of questioning the other side follows while deeming a guy who got his doors kicked in by the FBI as "credible". If you're looking for honesty and fair play here you're looking in the wrong place.
  6. It was nice to see his acknowledgment of reaching a state of self-awareness, even though the irony of what he subsequently typed was lost on him. It's a step in the right direction, but he seems unable to get his emotions throttled back enough to apply logic to the equation.
  7. The officer would be considered disposable to the Open Borders crowd. Just got lucky this time.
  8. Rule of 3s. It's not a trend until the 4th disposable person dies under mysterious circumstances in the money man's home.
  9. That makes more sense. I heard he was an Asian from the Soviet Union and it seemed odd, but I still told lots of people.
  10. Damn, that was a good read until you went and tried to lock that daytime Emmy down with the heart and soul of America riff. There are many, many, maaaaaaaaannnnnnnnyyyyy people with differing opinions who maintain the heart, soul and trust that is so important to you. That is to say they would help a neighbor in a time of need, they would dig into their pocket to help a friend of a friend of a friend battling a serious illness, dealing with the loss of a home or loved one, or to provide financial relief for someone who their head stuck in a mechanical rice picker. Check your house of worships, your local businesses, the fire department and of course the Facebook. I'd grant you the extremes seem more extreme, but I think that's due in part to the extremes being normalized by design. It's really not that long ago the FOBs were firebombing police stations and corrupt authoritarians were targeting civil rights activist with violence and intimidation. Finally, I'd simply end by saying that folks wondering aloud about the loss of our center is a national past time. Personally, I could with a bit less of the over-the-top rhetoric, but find it incredibly refreshing when he hits the sweet spot. His "witch hunt" mantra, for example. For those who suggest he should simply stay quiet if he nothing to hide, I say "screw that.". Defend yourself, and in thought word and deed, respond. The alternative is death by a ten thousand paper cuts over a prolonged period of time. As for the media, I think as a profession, and at the risk of over generalizing, they've become pretty soft and need to toughen up a bit. I think DJT correctly calling out purveyors of manipulated news is a dog whistle for saying those folks are often full of baloney.
  11. On the one hand, I think no one should ever sit in judgement of another. But on the other hand, I think, wait, something just feels wrong here.
  12. Jussie has been kidnapped!!!
  13. I appreciate your concern, but I never felt like I was alone. When I get up each I'm usually recapping my plan for the day, thinking about obligations, responsibilities and people that count on me. I feel incredibly fortunate in many ways, so much so that when I encounter a well-minded soul like you seeking me out on a message board while poking fun about me being on that very message board, it makes me laugh. Sometimes I laugh with, sometimes at. Either way, it makes me happy I suppose. Now you keep on trucking, and thanks for visiting here, where, as you said, we are not alone, because at least I'm here, as were you.
  14. Honestly Warcodered...think about this for a second. For 28 months the American public has been told that the President colluded with Russia to overthrow the heir apparent to the Democrat party (who, interestingly, manipulated the system on their side of the playground to ice out the hot new cool kid Bernie S), we've watched a Special Counsel tasked with a limitless mandate to investigate anything his team of political operatives decided to investigate, we're at the point where leaders of the opposition party have suggested Trump is a Russian asset, we've watched the upper echelon of the FBI be lopped off due to sex/lies/attempt to manipulate the election, watched a Supreme Court nominee with an impeccable record of service to the country be accused of being a gang rapist and serial groper by declared candidates for President, and watched the normalization of infanticide and celebration with the lighting of the Freedom Tower in blood red. Suddenly now there is something to be irritated about? To draw an analogy, you're like the last guy on the Titanic who overslept, woke up and was surprised to find all the lounge chairs sliding past him as he looked for a place to catch a few rays. Press conference shmess shonference.
  15. that is fair imo. i made that same point in the post before the one you replied to. you just used less words. ?
  16. A couple quick follow ups on you work story: 1. Was the same supervisor in place for the 30 years you've been there, thus presiding over the previous 4 portrait changes? 2. Did he state that he was changing the portrait because BO was the new Commander in Chief? 3. Is it possible he was a Trump so thoroughly disgusted with 8 years of Obama apology tours, tearing down the police force, playing racial politics, sending boatloads of cash to terrorists in foreign camps, leaving Americans to die in Libya among other things (the charicature of the average Trump supporter) and so on that once it was appropriate to flip the script, he simply flipped the script at the time the script should always be flipped 4. If not, how did you come to surmise it was a racial issue? Anyway, my point remains the same. Politics are politics, and someone always hates someone else. It's not subtle or hidden, or whatever, it just is. Speaking of that btw, you mentioned the birther issue. In the world of American politics, where pretty much anything you can say, do, or imply your opponent did--from mysogyny to homophobia to dogs on cars to not paying taxes to sitting in the church of an anti-American bigot and so on...is it fair to say that djt pulled off a master-stroke of ingenuity when asking if BO was actually born in this country? It's hard to argue it hurt him at the ballot box.
  17. When someone disagrees with you, it doesn't necessarily mean they misunderstood. I'll summarize the situation the way I think it played out. No need for subtle introspection or conservative ot liberal think tanks. Some people likely hated Barrack Obama. For some it might have been because he's black/biracial, some because of his personality and style, some because of his religious beliefs, some because of his policies, some because he was a Democrat, some because he is male. And so on. Some people likely hated Donald Trump. For some it might be because he's white, some because he's wealthy, some because of his personality and style, aome because he ran as a Republican, some because he's male. And so on. As you move toward the center from the extremes, there likely was some crossover on all these points, but the end result as I see it is hanging some bs underlying animus toward one candidate without acknowledging the reality that someone always hates a president discredits what that president actually accomplished. Obama for all his faults navigated some incredibly difficult landscape in his ascension to the seat of power, but so did Trump. In fact it could be argued that the level of hatred and animosity toward Trump vastly exceeds the Obama presidency. And personally, if I was a Trump hater (and I thought i might be at least a Trump detestor), I'd at least acknowledge his ability to take body shot after body shot and shed 'em like it was water off a ducks back. As for dismantling Obama's legacy, Trump was pretty clear that was his goal and he won the election on that platform.
  18. Thanks for the heads up. You'll be my first character witness.
  19. Yeah, I felt badly about that and deleted it. Apparently not in time. I apologize for that.
  20. I was thinking about that earlier today. If this all had happened exactly as he had said, he would have been 100% truthful about everything. We all need to think about the seriousness of what he might have gone through had it actually occurred.
  21. Welcome back sunshine! First, keep the 500. I pay my own way and I am sure your mom and dad can use it more than I. Second, you seem awash in angst and hostility, 'addicted to outrage" as your boy Glenn Beck says. It can't be healthy to visit a place where people hold different opinions, throw a couple soft b#tch slaps from the 3rd row only to scurry away plotting your next great snapback. Engage if you like, but have some pride. Whomever did the number on you to bring you to this sad state is to blame, but you can choose strength and move on. Now, as for the border wall, my support for same, and Trump moving forward despite your fiscal expertise and online foot stomping, I want to be clear: You might be a wonderful person, but I don't care what you think. You seem broken to me, and from the sounds of it that happened long before Your President even considered dealing with this issue. With regard to the Covington crew, my fear for them is that in spite of all the good and decent people in the world, of all stripes and reglious persuasssions, the interaction with the media and political operatives who targeted them for nothing more than standing while white in America--that they might become hyperfocused on the people who tried to hurt them and end up hateful and bitter in the future. Next thing you know, somewhere in America they are signing on some message board as 34CovingintonFan or the like. As for damages and the like, you're probably correct that there has never ever been a situation ever ever in America where someone was awarded damages without obvious physical injury. Emotional distress...whaaaaaat? Be well.
  22. This is really fascinating to watch. "I'll never be the man this did not happen to." The use of the word 'your' and 'you' when talking about the attack that happened to him. "...ties a noose around your neck and pours bleach on you?". The most interesting part to me is when he says "...And this is just a friendly fight?". Putting aside the 3 -5 different narratives he's provided to different people at different times, I haven't seen anyone suggest that he was involved in a "friendly fight". It is interesting that he apparently has a close relationship with at least one of the white Nigerians implicated in this whole mess. He should hope his attorney can get this whole misunderstanding resolved, lest his words become prophetic when he shares a cell for between 19-36 months with Illinois Bureau of Corrections inmate #265337-45.
