  1. I think, in a world gone mad, its important to STOP. As humble citizens of this great blue marble that spins endlessly toward eternity, we must collectively LOOK within to confront the ugliness around us. I feel it's also important that we--the collective we, not the we that is us, but the "we"-we---LISTEN to our truths and find the compassion within to serve the greater good. I call it the "STOP, LOOK & LISTEN guide to the Survival of Human People on this great Blue Marble Spinning Endlessly Toward Eternity". I'm in talks with Amazon to go global but they want me to change the title and I dont see how that is possible. I validate you and how that photo of the known smirker makes you feel. Thank you.
  2. I'm a 1%er liberal. Save your money and send it to the Pelosi family for skimming, I mean safekeeping.
  3. The we-all-need-to-get-along-so-let-us-start-today logic he seems to be espousing is perfect for a 9th grade term paper. The sad history of addressing an issue that has gotten to the point where the argument in support of quasi-open borders is that "only several hundred thousand" people are circumventing our border crossings every year to add to the 12-20 million souls who have already done so. The Canadian govt got squeamish at about 50,000 people violating their laws. So the argument goes that while we used to impact our infrastructure each year by a city the size of San Francisco, or a Dallas, we're doing really well---like really really really well by only adding a Raleigh, Miami or Minneapolis each year. On the bright side I'm heading out of town in a few days, and I'm going to park whenever the heck I like--probably right near along the access road for departing flights, I plan on refusing to show my papers when requested and have no intention of waiting in lines for "screening". The reality is a very small percentage of people are looking to cause any trouble, so why all the fuss with walls and whatnot. I'll probably just tell anyone that pushes back "We all just need to work together here!". Walls are for suckers.
  4. Assuming that WhiteyinPhilly and 34 are sharing their true feelings on all this, they represent the emotionally overwrought segment of the population that's easily manipulated. The recipe is: 1. Someone/some group identifies a boogeyman issue; 2. They sell the issue as such; 3. A whole lot of people gobble up the Intel, disregard the rational notion most of us are taught to "Wait....and see" and follow the base, primal instinct to jump to conclusions and punch someone, anyone that they disagree with; 4. When confronted with the evidence and knowledge that they have been manipulated, they dig their heels in and either move the target or move on. What they see as their strength of character is really just another form of weakness. There's that $#!ing smirk again! This kid will never learn.
  5. this story is sad and pathetic, and seemed ready to unravel from basically when it started. HOWEVER: the delicious irony of Jussie Smollz acknowledging Michael Freaking Cohn with a sheepish "Hey girl heeeyyyeee!" as they pass in the hallway of their shared attorneys office is awesome. what a world.
  6. Good Lord Bob, this reads like a script from Jussie Smolltte's One Man play. Toughen up, tuck your ***** back in and bide your time while your fave prez is not in office. Many Trump supporters did just that during the 8 long years of socialist stupidity and many folks of all stripes rode the wave during the Bush years before.
  7. McCabe was an entrenched komrad who would have thrived in East Germany or any other totalitarian regime. He reminds me of that nazi in "Inglorious Basterds", the one who gets the swastika carved into his forehead at the end. That's not to say he was a brutal and ruthless in dispatching enemies (perceived or otherwise) as that character was, but in idealogical terms he's the same type of guy. He thrives on power, he will say or do anything necessary to advance his cause, so much so that while sent packing after being exposed as a liar and traitor, he simply changes the narrative. He is, in short, a virus.
  8. As Barrack used to say "Nah ho-ho-hold on just a second...". The path is now clear. AOC is onto something. If I were Cuomo, I'd be inviting every large tech company in the world to set up shop in the city, have AOC do her AOC and have the company decide to move on. You're not going to score the $3b everytime, but if you could average a bill each time a company changed its plans after a while you have like $5b in found money for NYS. Put another way...sometimes pulling out is a good thing.
  9. Trump could be the wild card you're looking for. Personally I think the tentacles of corruption cross party lines and there is plenty of skulduggery to go around. I don't see it playing out as you have laid out on your wish list, but maybe a few of the big players will get kicked in the nuts along the way. What's truly tragic is they all have so friggin much blood on their hands, and sell out your family, mine and everyone elses...liberals, conservatives, centrists and independents. It means nothing to them.
  10. Sometimes Foxxy ya gotta sweep the leg.
  11. I've learned not to view these types of issues based only on "this moment in time!". Over the past couple years people have crowed about how THIS time, they. got.him! only to have the current president continue to plow ahead. See for instance, today. The deal is what it is, and the parts on the board are constantly moving. He has set himself up to be the savior of the resistance if he follows through, uses the military ame other options at his disposal to continue to construct the barriers. In the interim, the dems cracked and if one chooses to look at that as a victory, it can be seen that way. However, virtually every high profile dem has been all over the page on supporting, not supporting, moral, immoral depending on who they were speaking to, whether running for office or sitting in opposition to the current president, and that makes them look weak politically and on the issue of border security. Snapshots of Master Beto at the border barricaded behind a 10 foot high chain link fence for protection only add to the challenges the dems face as the move farther to the left. Put another way, you're not going to find consensus between the extremes, but there are an awful lot of folks in the middle who recognize the security/economic challenges of just letting $#@@ go on the way the dems want it to be. Those are the difference makers who might not want to speak publically and be bullied by crazies for suggesting security at the border needs to be overhauled, but would apply some common sense to the problem of hundreds of thousands of people showing up for benefits that their tax dollars pay for. In other words....developing....
  12. While I'm all for truth and justice, with fish this big it's fair to at least allow the allegations to be vetted privately before names are released. I don't doubt it happened on these and other high profile issues (abortion, immigration etc), but the potential for innocent people to be thrown under the bus is pretty high. And I find rfk jr to be a major d•••, but wouldn't it be awesome ams ironic to see djt de-classify intel that supported his theory that the govt was behind the assassination?
  13. I pay attention to the words used to describe the news of the day. I always find it interesting how a story can be sold with soft edges. The Michigan congresswoman, Omar, "Apologizes for controversial tweets after backlash from Dem leaders" according to NBC. Note no reference to the anti-semetic nature, and from the headline apparently only the dems were upset. Newsweek was less kind, with a headline that read she was "Slammed for a 'stunningly Anti-Semetic Tweet". One is "controversial" perhaps something about Courtney Cox being better on Friends than Jennifer Anniston, while the other is pretty clear on the issue. The business of news, what is released and how is manipulative, misleading and intentional. It's up to the individual to figure out what they believe. For what it's worth, I googled "Trump" and the headlines/crawls/videos are a tasty alphabet soup of such colorful words/phrases as "SLAMS", "ATTACKED", "STARTLING", "BIG LIES", "PRESIDENT BLASTS..." . Duck duck go, on the other hand has an ad for polling data, a link to the DJT Official Site, "TRUMP:SECOND SHUTDOWN UNLIKELY", "RUNNING OUT OF OPTIONS ON BORDER...", links to the Trump real estate page, his Twitter feed, wiki etc. There is one video link to "TRUMP SLAMS BETO RALLY..." though oddly when I put in Beto no reference to him SLAMMING Trump.
  14. I think this is correct. No way the big players ever get caught up in this, too many entrenched fingers of all stripes stuffing their hands in the til. We never know anything if Trump loses, he was just the right wild card at the right time.
  15. You're badgering the witness!!! it seems to me we live in a world of uneasy political alliances, where each party allows members of the other party to get away with certain indiscretions that regular folks would not. See Eliot Spitzer, for example. I think the ruling class treats some of these issues under the theory that if one side pushes hard for conviction/jail time, they know it's just a matter of time before the pendulum swings back. Thus, under the theory of mutually assured destruction, things slide. It seems a logical next step to a formalized, keep it quiet for the good of the nation (or whatever) and you do yours, we'll do ours. as for the secret pardon dealio, who knows? I guess my point was it would not surprise me in the least. Then again maybe I've watched too many Soprano episodes.
  16. https://www.thenational.ae/uae/harrison-ford-delivers-apocalyptic-climate-change-warning-1.823568 sometimes I hate the news, it reveals things like harry ford yammering on and on about climate change. This jackalope owns multiple airplanes, bragged about flying up the coast to get a cheeseburger, and made his fortune by being really effective at getting people to leave their homes, pollute the planet and gorge themselves fat on fake-buttered popcorn and 1 gallon medium sized sugary soda. I mean let's put aside the fact that he's flying to Dubai, and encouraging as many like-minded people as possible to drive/fly/boat to Dubai to hear his lecture about how the planet is being smothered by human activity like flying/driving/boating. It's clear from watching the video to all citizens that there is absolutely no way to deliver a message of this magnitude to the masses in ANY way other than to pollute the crap out of the planet by flying to Dubai. I always enjoyed a good harry ford flick. Mindless fun for a couple hours, take your mind off the problems of the world watching him exercise white privilege as he pillaged the treasures of foreign lands. Now this.
  17. I would not doubt the likelihood of secret pardons, not in the least. Seems tailor made to suit the psychology of political elites, and would seem to have broad appeal to both major parties. The interesting question for me would be If a secret pardon existed, would Trump be able and willing to declassify and reveal the details?
  18. In fairness he may just be angling to be the new Subway pitchman. That Chipolte Chicken sandwich went through the ringer but was stout enough to make it back home unscathed.
  19. I didn't go to Dartmouth like Jake Tapper, but if you leave your dick laying around where people can step on it, that's on you.
  20. Of course. We've seen every political trick in the book, and some new & improved versions of old tricks, and increasingly destructive behavior by each party. But we're to assume these people are all just sitting around scared to death that Trump is pushing a button somewhere, but allowing the situation to simply play out over 2 + years?
  21. I haven't watched any of this, but am looking forward to it. Whitaker seems to have the libs in a tizzy, dancing like little gender-neutral sock puppets in a circle. I love to see someone push back on these absurd political festivals of partisanship. The goal is to appear to follow rules of civility and professionalism while slithering around like snakes trying to jab a knitting needle to the eyeball of the opponent. To see someone simply say "Sorry chief, go f yourself" is such a welcome change to the same old crap. Its positively Trumpian.
  22. translation: burn down the house of Brett Kavanaugh, preferably with him in it; let's all take a step back and consider the ramifications of believing the accuser of Governor Fairfax.
  23. I can live with that. My apologies for noticing the box and thinking outside it.
