Snaf, whatcha figure the carbon footprint of an enterprise like a WaPo might be? I did a quick check, looks like the Social Justice Warriors pimp out Mother Earf for about 3.2 million newspapers weekly, and in DC for example, they'll have a newsie deliver it right to your door. I'm guessing carbon hovers for newspaper production and delivery, sorta like how COIVD spreads like a bastage except when it doesn't. Don't get me wrong--it's not like the WaPo could ever offer online subscription only. That's crazy talk.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I think it’s simply a reflection of a full year plus of restrictions for some but not for all, a reliance on the science mandated for some but not all, government fingers in the pie destroying some businesses and not others, and a recognition that the absolute safest place to be during this virus is to be In the employ of those pulling the lockdown strings. Everyone else must fend for themselves. From a leadership perspective, a good start would be for Biden to implore teachers unions to do the right thing by the children and communities they serve to get the children back in school. Or, appeal directly to the teachers to bypass the unions and show up to the classroom. There are many, many teachers who believe it’s past time to do so, but are likely fearful of going against the grain. It’s difficult to be positive when your back is against the wall, your children are suffering and govt is dicking around. -

"Slow dancing in the dark on the beach at Stockton's Wing Where desperate lovers park We sat with the last of the Duke Street Kings." Reads a little creepier than it should here--but I saw your screen name a week or two ago and the song has been stuck in my head ever since. One of my favorite songs back in college, and beyond. I may flip it on for the ride home. Plus, a few little tweaks and it almost made sense for the game. Great screen name. Peace! -
Well, that's just good family fun imo. I withdraw the prior commentary. I don't understand the validation issue, it sounds a lot like a made up grievance that springs from some of life's great struggles such as having spotty cell service so you can't order the Chips and Large Queso from the car and have to walk in and talk to someone. My daugher (now 24) was complaining one day about something having to do with our cell plan, so I told her "Grandpa had polio, but I remember him saying the treatment wasn't the worst, it was the buffering while streaming movies". Her response was age appropriate and priceless to me: "What, like THE polio?". Saw in another thread that your son wrestled (maybe still does). Mine as well. It's a tough sport, but it can teach you quite a bit about life along the way. Props to him.

Trump Impeachment 2.0
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to BillStime's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yup, and in fairness, there were many of us hoping against hope the system would prevail after the Russia debacle, the one that had dem leadership speaking about stolen elections, a coup, and illegitimate presidencies. We pinned our hopes (though many were concerned that it was going to go nowhere) on Durham and AG Barr suggesting that 'what was done to this president was horrific', only to find that career governments insiders had no plans on doing really anything except returning to status quo. Imo it still goes back to mutually assured destruction between what passes for 'leadership'. -

We're all searching for answers to what went wrong in that game. Emotions run high when you're a Bills fan. I was speaking with a close friend, Theresa, she's into all this new age positivity and energy, hell, she blamed me for being so negative in the second quarter. We argued for quite a while after the game, back and forth until it got very late. I thought she was full of it, and told her so. I said..."Blame it on the lines that killed us, blame it on the Chiefs that ran us down, you can blame it all on me Terry it don't matter to me now. When the breakdown hit 'round midnight there was nothing left to say, but I hated them, and hated you for what you had to say.". (forgive me) -

Amazing accomplishment while his political enemies attempted to destroy him and incite violence by claiming the election was illegitimate. -

Ah, I recall the guy play long enough after the whistle to draw a flag on his own. Had him in the air, no need to drive him to the ground. Josh took offense, tossed the ball at the old noggin and got under his skin. Thereafter, who knows what’s coming? JF came after the guy, minor scuffle, no harm no foul. Well, foul, but whatevs. Just boys being boys. -

You really think so think so? -
I'm glad you said that. I can see the potential for misunderstanding what I shared. Wide, I'm sorry for saying you sounded like you were being a dick to your sister-in-law. I was wrong for gas-lighting you. See? See how easy it is? You can patch things up with her, make your wife happy and do the right thing. We're all tired some days, but when you think of it, isn't a chimichanga just a big hunk of love-in-meat on a colorful plate? (Seriously though--she said you were invalidating her existence over throwaway chimi-chat?)
-
I agree on the buzzwords. I'm much more traditional--you sound like you were kind of a dick to your sister-in-law, and being 'tired' sounds like you're making an excuse for uncivil behavior. Whether vegetarian or a faux-soy-sister-chimi-chomping-meat-lover-on-the-sly, what business is it of yours? Be kind--that's what's really cool.

Mupps, I think it's a fundamental failing of the human condition to be outraged over what amount to policy disputes and the plan to lead the country. We have no idea how he squares his relationship with God, or whether or not DJT is working through God as part of His mysterious plan. And certainly, if we're going to apply the benchmark about our so-called leaders with respect to "God', most will fall far, far short of the anything remotely resembling grace. Peace Girlfriend.

This is how rivalries are born

This isn’t indicative of a rivalry, it’s indicative of a bully slapping someone around in front of the teacher. -

By the Ghost of Curly Lambeau I believe he can do it! -
You used lots of words to convey your apathy. There’s a disconnect there, but that’s sort of typical when disingenuous folks are confronted with logic. I actually think you’re anything but apathetic to the subject. Steady, Captain. We’ll get through this.

I feel like I’m in a scene from Walking Dead, and the all the zombies are wearing Biden4Prez shirts. The link you provided is helpful to understand where you’re coming from to be sure. It certainly must be exhilarating to have someone do the heavy lifting on sorting through ‘lies’, ‘lie lies’, and ‘lies you needn’t fuss about’. I understand the appeal of simplifying ones life. I wouldn’t put Biden’s troop comments in a lie pile, IMO that’s more of a theatrical passive aggressive ‘look how cool I am’ appeal to his peeps. Admittedly I’m downsizing his lie count, but maybe I’m naive. Speaking of—this very cool write up and not at all subjective ‘database’ could just as easily be replaced with the lie count strategy they used for the last guy in office. Why do you figure they are employing different standards? Oh, and just to be sure I check—-what do you figure Biden’s number is?
-
We’ve already established the problems with digging our heels in that candidates like Biden and Trump are above reproach. It really seems to be that you folks don’t want to acknowledge it with Biden for whatever odd reason you may have. I’m a bit confused, Logic. You started off with comments on Trumpies, irony, liars-presumably carrying the flag for honest Joe. You included a link to an op-ed, with such gems as “Trump said he had support, but no polls backed that up” as evidence of 20,000 lies. 20,000 man! Then you moved the needle—bravely acknowledging that maybe, perhaps maybe, Joe might have fibbed once or twice, gosh he’s been in the public eye for 5 decades. I’ll ask again—do you know the Biden number or not? 6? 11? 1800? We can’t possibly define “uncommon” without establishing first defining “common”, can we? Surely WaPo tracks these things.
-
I keep thinking these posts can’t get any funnier, but you guys have supersized the whole “Joe Doesn’t Lie Ok He Lies But Not Much Ok A Lot But Still Not As Much As Trump” game and it’s hysterical. Seems the WaPo had 4 interns sitting in a basement and the magic number for DJT is 20,000. That article, btw, did you read it? Seriously, it reads like a high school newsletter. But, I mean, it does say 20,000 and man that’s a BIG number. I think the size of the number alone makes it newsworthy whether or not it’s actually based in anything at all. You’ve begrudgingly acknowledged Biden lies. What’s his number ya figure? Did the WaPo provide any hard-hitting Biden-lie data or isn’t that a thing? Keep it coming brother, this is good stuff.
-
You’ve got it backwards Log, it was the wails of feigned indignation for 4 years that a politician making false or misleading claims is something new. But seriously, if you see Joe Biden as all truth all the time, man, ya got steel in your spine and some real moxie. God love ya man. No lie Joe! What a hoot! 😂😂😂
