  1. I remember it well. Personally, I like a vibrant economy and people having jobs and whatnot. That never goes out of style.
  2. I had you on ignore before searching out greener pastures, but I’m glad I read this post. It refects the rare intersection of disparate points of view and how the world works. I agree with you on Lenny—what the f does a guy raising a family and balancing work obligations in an upstate NY community know about deep intelligence dives. Likewise, I’d reject what you might have to say at the time. The only challenge now is explaining why Biden pushed forward. I already know what I think, and it’s consistent with my view on the order of things in Washington. Many people like the status quo because it’s someone else’s job to suffer. A vote for Biden is a vote for that particular world order in spite of angry protestations about a bogus war. It’s not just that of course, but why move forward when you can have the 80s again?
  3. I am not trying to be difficult, but I answered the Biden v Trump/Stern question 3 or 4 times. It wasn’t so much of a tangent as an explanation in regards to your question. I’m inflexible on the Obama/Bush/Biden connection, I recognize that but am comfortable with where I am. It’s one of the main reasons I support DJT and actually getting things done in Washington. As for cancel culture, we’ll have to agree to disagree. Thanks for sharing your thoughts—I understand where you’re coming from.
  4. I wasn’t using Biden’s vote against him, I was laughing at your contention that an appearance on a Howard Stern show was somehow equivalent to an experienced US Senator analyzing all available intelligence and voting to gear up the war machine. I supported the war effort, at least insofar as Saddam Hussein was thumbing his nose at the international community and that lead a reasonable person to believe he was producing weapons of mass destruction. The question isn’t what he said or did then, it’s how it’s viewed through the prism of time. My philosophy on W Bush, who I voted for twice and politics in general has evolved over the years. Pre-Trump, I was headed down the road that there really are just some major players calling the shots, keeping people like you and me swinging at each other. Bill Clinton. Obama hires Hillary, Hillary is the heir apparent. HW Bush. W Bush. Jeb Bush. It made me a bit nauseous to be honest. So, as I said earlier before another scurrilous attack, I watched folks on your side get all lathered up with BHO’s Hope N Change shtick. He ran in the W is a war criminal platform, then quietly all is forgotten. Dude, I’m asking you—was W Bush the war for oil guy or not? And if he was, why the f didn’t Obama steamroll him using the full might and power of the Oval Office? Today though, thick as theives, W suggesting Biden is a man of character. The problem is, I recall what Biden said about him—was it true what this man if character said? Anyway, same questions exist with Biden, he was part of the game then, the war in retrospect was a massive mistake and I think he needs to answer on it. I do not think DJT on Stern reveals anything, has nothing to do with anything, and is a silly talking point. I needed no additional reasons to think he’s unfit for office. I’ve moved further down the road that there aren’t Ds and Rs, just shades of the same ***** color. The fact that 70m people voted for an over-ripened Joe Biden for president—one laughed off the stage when he first ran decades ago during the Pet Rock era, convinces me even more. As for Das Enemies List, I feel the way I do because these people destroy lives for sport.
  5. This is ominous. I miss so much along the way. Is any comment re: the C word as it relates to player availability a ban-worthy offense? I’ll try and make my point but will steer clear just in case. I thought the D played pretty well for most of the game, given the players that were missing due to pulled groins. It’s tough to lose important players due to pulled groins, and it sucks that other guys with with unpulled groins have to sit. It’s impossible to know if the players we were missing might have made an impact if their groins were not pulled— but when all was said and done, the game was exciting right to the end. It is the NFL—as usual we left too many points off the board and this time, it cost us. Great write up Virgil. Thank you.
  6. You’re asking me to ignore the fact that he took multiple shots at me, and implying I somehow owe him respect in some way/shape/form you deem appropriate. That’s some first level Taylor Swift-angsty-fake-nice bs. I decline your request. What I wrote was historically accurate. The fact that he acknowledged what I was saying while implying I was making something up simply resulted in me responding the way I like to respond—I mocked him. As for your characterization of DJT, whatever. Btw—The fixation on a poster long gone from this site is troubling. Let the anger go.
  7. You asked a question, then as if realizing on some subconscious level it was a dumb question, you powered through common sense and answered it for me on my behalf? Was your intention to reveal the silliness of my position by hilighting the accuracy of it? Well done? Thank you? Go So Tier? I engaged when you appeared ready, moving you from the children’s table to the where the adults sit, but it’s impossible to ignore that you’re still eating your mashed potatoes with your fingers. Be that as it may, enjoy the day (and the mashed pos)!
  8. You know I’m a fan of your work, but Ima need to see your medical license at some point. Something is not right here. Before proceeding, you’re a medical doctor, not a Doctor of Metaphysical Interpretation, Doctor of The Universe, The Love Doctor or anything like that? I just want to be clear before the rage sets in.
  9. Just laying around, flies buzzing around. This stinks.
  10. It’s still funny this morning. Howard Stern uncovers the secret vote of DJT that started the Iraq war.
  11. Well, Hillary’s actions might well have reached the standard of being illegal, but that ship sailed long ago. As for Governor Whitmer, many people are rightly concerned with governmental overreach and the destruction of their lives and livelihood. To my knowledge, none of the people in the crowd had any legal capacity to bring charges against her. AOC is positioned quite well to directly and personally impact the lives of people she disagrees with politically. Her personal financial situation is not impacted whatsoever by a shutdown whether it lasts 30 days or 30 months. Politicians and enemies lists have a long and dark history in American politics.
  12. But I wasn’t asked a question, the question was directed to @reddogblitz. If you’re into internet characterizations and labels, it was an attempt to hijack. Be that as it may, the subject matter of the post I attempted to hijack was about George W Bush and the relative corruption of his administration. That poster referenced Dan Bongino, a pundit well known for suggesting Obama was the most corrupt president in history. I backfilled the 544 test and have concluded that I personally would not have started the answer to a query about George W Bush with “What about George W Bush...”. Thank you.
  13. I considered what you offered here and rejected it because it’s nonsensical. However, great misuse of one of the most overused internet expressions of the day. Next, use straw man incorrectly.
  14. Without a hint of irony. Howard Stern. Access to every piece of intelligence the country has ever gathered. The same. I did, and maybe I jumped the gun. I’m hearing that lots of critical intelligence decisions were made by the guest hosts on Rowan and Martin’s Laugh In.
  15. I’ll play. Why are Barry, Michelle, Geo and Laurz best friends now? Forgive and forget? Shared bond of dispatching impotent dictators? Thruple, one extra to man the camera?
  16. So, you’ll go so far as to compare a guy shooting the breeze with a dopey radio show host to guy who was a multi-decade US Senator fully and completely briefed by the intelligence community? A realty TV pitchman to a guy who given the experience and wisdom after decades in Washington who should have known the war was a mistake? This is priceless. DJT complicit in the Iraq War, the guy who actually voted for it and bragged about it presidential. This. is. epic.
  17. The book has yet to be titled, but I’m not hating what you’ve suggested. To whit: Your intolerance of peaceful protests, your intolerance of American voices uplifted in unison for a cause, while stumbling about blindly yelling that state-sponsored infection of our most vulnerable population, marks you as very easily manipulated. Your acceptance that the agonizing and lonely death certain to follow reflects a real crackerjack job of pandemic management marks you as gullible. Further, when viewed in the context of support for protests this summer, Cuomo’s failure to address the hundreds of thousands of people protesting in the streets—no social distancing, poor mask discipline, shouting and screaming and In some cases rioting and looting—would by his own definition cause a massive spike in cases and deaths. He’s knuckles deep in the death and chaos, but he’s got you out pimping for him. Chapter 7: Pay Attention, Dipsh8t. ”If ya always fall for what ya always fell for before, ya best get some bandaids because you’re about to skin your knee again. LS, PhD Knower of Stuff Btw, it’s poor form not to address a question asked in good faith, and I believe you were sincere on the question regarding the trip to the Church. I think it’s fairly standard fare for a president to go where he wants to go, when he wants to go, and when he goes, the area is cleared. I think, for example, if Joe Biden chose Albany to meet with Indira Ghandi- a definite possibility— I think his team would evaluate the route for threats, devise a route to travel and push forward with those plans. If I ran out in the middle of them street as the motorcade approached, I believe strongly that I would be dealt with swiftly and decisively, and the likelihood of injury to me would be high. I do not believe the motorcade would stand down or seek and alternate route. Likewise, if a substantial number of activists rush to block the road, the response increases exponentially. So, I didn’t spend much time worrying about the response then, and don’t now. I’m personally much more concerned about the “list” that AOC is compiling and what the fallout for being on that list might be. It’s got a vaguely Khmer Rouge feel to it.
  18. I’m writing a book about the fragility of the liberal mind. Let me know how this makes you feel, and you’ll be featured prominently in Chapter 6. “You’re allowed to carry any emotional baggage you want, but that don’t mean you get to take up my space in the overhead compartment.”” LS, PhD Internet Self-Help Guru Btw, don’t be offended you’re going to appear in Chapter 6, I already titled it “Teargas or Crocodile Tears?”.
  19. The participants in the Million MAGA March are organizing and protesting as is their right under the Constitution. It’s none of your concern why they are marching, unless of course you share their concerns. The simple reality is that if open air protests/riots the likes of which we saw this summer did not result in superspreader events, you have noting to fear. Social distance, wear your mask, speak quietly indoors, keep your laughter light and don’t yell, and for God’s sake have your partner face south when you are facing north, assuming of course that’s not already your jam. You’ll be fine.
  20. It’s too soon to reconcile anything of the like, at least for me. It’s clear that Democracy dies in darkness, even when it’s a cheesy slogan for a newspaper that positions deep and hard hitting opinion pieces disguised as news next to paid advertisement for a new Subaru. Let’s see this all through, there is nothing to fear, no reason to be afraid, the worst that will happen is a result one side or the other finds unfavorable. Should it come to pass, I would suggest we simply start with a release of all the facts and details of any ethics investigations into senator, congresspersons, VP and Presidential candidates. The incestuous world of Washington politics is something most everyone agrees is a problem when they have no stake in the game one way or the other. Agree on Iraq war. We know the narrative that Obama rode into office—Bush the W starts the war for personal political and financial gain. Oddly, post war, they spend a lot of time fingerpoppin’ each other’s aholes—credit to the writers of 21 Jump Street—and if I’m not mistaken Michelle has a Woner (w *****, credit to Pitch Perfect) and Laura better watch her back. War criminal to besties. That’s odd. In fact, I’m all for declassifying anything that doesn’t get people killed or compromise national intelligence. The challenge is that there is significant latitude to redact based on Potential embarrassment to the investigators. It will not happen because as much of an F U person DJT is, he loves his family and loves his children. Schumer said it and went unchallenged by the major media outlets and dem leadership: “they’ll find six ways to Sunday to get you.”. There are far, far worse things that can happen than breaking a Clinton in a public political curb stomp, being the US President and having your fingerprints on one of the greatest financial engines in the history of the country, And losing in an election that inspired more than 72m voters to punch their ticket on your behalf, then going home to your billions and having Melania meet you at the door. Btw-he gained supporters, and will gain more should the Simpleton-elect ascend to the White House and push forward with his agenda.
  21. I’m nearly 59 years old, dialed in politically, speak with a diverse group of friends and associates from across the political spectrum. I’ve certainly been paying attention for the past 25-30 years. I’ve heard long and involved debates over excessive taxation, the cost of foreign wars of the type Biden covets, grumblings about the size of government, the incredibly high cost of govt salaries/benefit/pensions, tax giveaways for corporations and the wealthy, the devastating effects of COVID on the economy....but can’t recall a single extended discussion on the backbreaking costs of a recount on a presidential election. What are these costs, and where are all the people fretting over them? On this little cross section of the American experience, most comments seem to be centered around not proceeding because they feel like their candidate won. In response to your question, as a stakeholder in the election and a taxpayer, I’m interested in seeing the legal challenges through and don’t really care how much it costs.
  22. We're making progress. You went from an odd horse analogy boxed with wrapping paper for reasons unknown, to a stale and overused part political/part Ace hardware insult on a MB. It's been a long time since I've been to Jamestown, but my recollection is that is fits the definition of God's country. Hardworking people, good and decent as a general rule in an area without any major/moderately-sized city foot traffic, kinda pinched between Buffalo and Erie. When I think about how I approach people on the internet, I generally try and comport myself in a way that would not embarrass me if I did it walking down the street in Buffalo, or in your case, Jamestown. Would I personally seek out a person on the street wearing Biden gear, or stumping for Joe, and scream across the street "HEY LOOK AT ME YA LEFTIST WINGNUT!"? I would not. I know there are people who do, but it seems to me those people generally seem to have some underlying emotional issues, insecure about something in their life. I don't really pity them, because human psychology is such that while most folks have the ability to change, they lack the internal strength and discipline to do so. I do wonder sometimes where things jumped the rails for them. Anyways, progress is progress. I wish you and yours a good day.
