  1. I'd have thought that with a HC who was a former TE that this area of game would have been a pet project for him. Obviously he forgot that a Pet is for Life, not just Christmas...shoot, in his short tenure, he never got game past Christmas Seriously, this has been an area of massive disappointment for some time now. Is Everett a kid to resurrect something from the position?
  2. ...I went to Monash University and La Trobe University. If I had gone to Melbourne it may count in some circles, otherwise we just don't have the population for University conspiracy theorists. It was just something that a mate noted from far away...Melbourne...bring on the draft, or at least a tidbit of JP being in Buffalo and Jauron being "blown" away with how far he's come with the playbook...yawn
  3. A mate of mine made mention that DJ went to Yale, studying history and ML did a Masters in English History at Harvard. He wondered if there is anything to be taken from the Ivy League association? It seemed that Levy had DJ in his sights from the get go, now the conspircay adds a little flavour...i guess somethings got to lighten up the now long off season, particularly as we head to the yawn Winter Olympics and the even bigger yawn, Commonwealth Games-go Nauru...
  4. Hmmm, To Seattle: Anthony Rocca To Collingwood: Walter Jones To Buffalo: Walter Jones...Collingwood didn't know what to do with him Collingwood is an Australian Football League team. Anthony Rocca has a leg equal to Ben Graham (but younger), now punting for the Jests. yeah, the punting sucked...most of us watching in Oz were in Disbelif at how poor it was.
  5. I was disapointed at how often in his very first training camp he actually participated. He seemed happy to be standing back with Ruben, making jokes whilst others went on 5-4 and 1-1 drills. I was shocked that something like $8m had been spent on someone that appeared that lazy. He did improve his second year and totally regressed to a non-participant again this year. I doubt he'd be enough of a professional to make a career change to the other line. IMO.
  6. ...hey, that's not fair, we want one...what's a magnet?
  7. It's not like Fewell had been in Chicago long enough to forget St. Louis...
  8. With a lot of discussion about the 4-3 V 3-4 fronts on the board, I was wondering whether Ron Edwards (healthy) would be able to play a Left end spot in the 3-4, similar to say, Trevor Pryce in Denver. He is still a relative unknown force. He's been caught behind Adams and PW, gets a shot and tears a shoulder. The toll on the shoulder outside wouldn't be as significant as that of an interior lineman, tending to have a triangle that contains a TE instead of only linemen? Could he occupy a role similar to Phil Hansen and swing between a left end in the 3-4 and when in an obvious 4 man front, inside at left tackle leaving a better pass rusher outside; role occupied at various times by Bennett, Paup and Jim Jeffcoat. Just a thought...
  9. ...can i play "Battery" ?
  10. ...wasn't Cowher a former special teams coach?
  11. Buffalo is not the sexiest destination in the NFL. ...but sexiness may be taken with perspective/ beer goggles. If there are few jobs offered, suddenly the girl at the dance nobody wanted, starts to look a bit better...
  12. Hmm, let's see... Hampton = Stout Adams = Bitter ...it's a beer thing
  13. Weaknesses: Durability is a concern. He did not seem to fully bounce back from his 2004 knee injury. He lacks explosiveness as a blocker. Is not aggressive enough and must play with more of a mean streak. He lacks ideal lower body strength. Needs to improve his base in order to anchor better versus the bull rush. He lacks the leg drive to consistently create a new LOS as a run blocker. He's a little bit too much of a position and wall-off type as a run blocker. He still has some room to improve in his pass-pro technique, most notably with his hand-placement. Still relatively raw at the position; did not move from TE to LOT until 2003 season and he missed the 2004 season with an injury. ...ouch and how many times has this been printed "Has a rare combination of size and athleticism"...i would flag it on that alone
  14. ...instead of "acting" with Will Ferrell, get Iron Mike Ditka out of Type A Retirement hell...geez, trading an entire draft should count some senility points if his age doesn't chronologically count...
  15. ...friendliness...I've come from Oz to Buffalo 4 times now and it's been very friendly (apart from the cabbie who ripped me off my first time). John Guy was great- actually, fantastic. The training camp set up is really nice as well, great little town. The police were helpful too. There's quite a bit for a football fan to do in Buffalo, apart from, well football, Fort Niagra, the naval musuem, Niagra...The fans have been great too, as have the folk from the Stadium wall that i've met up with. The Big Tree Inn. Buffalo wings...that's enough?
  16. How about the old Bucs logo, you know with th Pirate at Center, looks suspiciously like Buffalo Bill...
  17. As a Podiatrist: It will depend largely on where the tear occurred along the length of the Achilles. High/ Low- at the muscular-tendinous junction origin, tendon, or tendon-periosteum insertion, or obviously a combination. How much of the fibre was torn- complete rupture or partial? How did the tear occur- transverse plane with many fibres or more disorganised, multiplanar, but with many intact fibre units? Was it a blow-out, or did it occur from a progressive degeneration of the Achilles from many injuries? How scar tissue development occurs and is managed? Surgical correction- did it need additional suturing with say plantaristo trengthen it? So I'd say there was plenty of guessing to go... plenty? Maybe it will be Luck that brings him back, after having the GM sacked and the HC QUIT, it's something the Bills need.
  18. The Rams, over the last few years, win or lose, have had success in getting a lot out of previously thought of as mediocre QB's (Warner, Bulger), and they spread the ball around a lot. Martz is known to love the pass, but the Rams ran the ball well, at various times. I think we get, in Fairchild, a guy who is schooled in the "offensive genious" of Martz, without getting stuck with the "douche bag" that is Martz....a lot of the Rams offensive success was dependent on the running back, either running or blocking. Hopefully, Willis is in step with all of the changes, and elevates his game, the way most of us thought he would this past season. ...do we get Tom Nutten back
  19. Melbourne, Victoria...100,000 seat MCG stadium...then i wouldn't have to travel 15,000 miles to get to Buffalo to see a Home Game!
  20. ...forgive me, but I live in Oz and it's been 45 degrees Celcius- 3 questions. 1. What's a SUV? 2. Should I be happy that my new coach eats SPINACH? 3. Should i be concerned about my new coach's oral hygiene routine? It's very friggin hot...
  21. Would it be better to have done an analysis for Jauron's W-L record progressively? Such as week 4, the Bungles may have been, say 3-0 but ended the season at 7-9, therefore it may have been a good win..but i get your point...I'd rather go into Battle with a Sherman on my side, rather than a Dick...
  22. ...i am glad someone mentioned Jamie Meuller. I remember a sweep left, him coming around the corner and absolutely nailing a LBer. Flat out crushed him...ahh, I will have to raise this in the gym to my Raider mate...
  23. ...how far Mangini has come...he's gone from coaching in the Carribean to the Big Time... Plenty of AFL guys with long punting ability. Have spoken to John Guy about it a couple of years ago on my last visit...
  24. Hey...not fair. If you Poms let the Americans back into the Commonwealth, there goes the Australian Medal Tally for Melbourne 2006...
