  1. Unfortunately, your probably right. I'd like to suggest Phil Hansen, but there's probably not enough repsect outside of Buffalo, as in ProBowl berths to really be desrving of a WoF. Great warrior though.
  2. I've started the planning to come and see the family stateside and am coming over in October or early November. Have settled on the Vikings or Green Bay as games to plan the trip around. I guess the Pack offers the last chance to say I've seen Brett Favre on the field (if he's not injured) and the Vikings...well...umm. McKinnie, Winfield...umm. Hope to catch some of you folk then- I'll be the one with the thick Aussie accent saying "G'day" and "Crikey" to everyone...
  3. I am not quite sure if I've read into your response correctly. That's a yes then? Ah, i love a succinct post.
  4. ...what's your favourite drink?
  5. Australia, uniform limit is .05. Sweden is much less, something along the lines of .02. Welcome to Victoria, the home of the speed trap. A professional footballer was caught recently (Collingwood Magpies FC) on a scooter out front of his home, blew .08 and lost licence and club fined him $20,000- the guys playing salary was probably about $200k.
  6. http://www.realfootball365.com/nfl/article...ills110506.html Well, at least its better than talking about: 1. Whitner and McCargo's draft position- did they reach or target? 2. Whether Magahee is a bum or not. (poll) 3. How old Marv and Ralph are? 4. How our O-line is going to go 16 games? and 5. Losman's QB ability? (I was going to through in Williams to the Bucs but that's at least funny). Has he shown any ability as a pass rusher since 2002? Can he put his hand down and be the rusher than either Denney and Kelsay aren't? Has he got counters etc to play the position, rather than blitz from the 2 point stance as a Lber, effectively shooting a gap, bypassing a guard/ tackle? Maybe McCargo can play end on runs, move into a Tackle on 3rds and Posey play the end aka Bennett and Hansen, Paup and Hansen (are those were the days). It's a long offseason. Oh, the miners are out of the cave in in Tasmania if you haven't caught the news. 14 days trapped 1km below...I don't know...but the first night 1 of them was at the "local" having a pint...
  7. Along the lines of "...you are either with us or against us" to Bills supporters?
  8. You'll have to explain in detail what you've just written as, I don't get this at all.
  9. ...and tight ends don't take shots? So, if ever he makes it past 5 yards down field and runs say a hook, The pass comes and there's a tip at the line and the ball floats to him, ya think the safety isn't going to go bugged eyed at that old Right Tackle with his back open, arms up to lay a helmet into? If he doesn't want to be hit, he should play kicker or punter, lose another 60 pounds. What next, a red shirt in training camp. I used to like the guy, the WWF play but it got tiring. Yawn. Heck, he could have played offense for us last year, 3 and out's not too dangerous...ouch.
  10. Are we still playing Metallica when he's on field..."give me fewell, give me fire, give me all that i desire...".
  11. ...Seriously, is that your pre-draft prediction? Who's your Granpa- Marv? Wow.
  12. Throw in compensatory picks and the math can get worse... But the upshot is is that Astrobot is pleased with those 4 drafted players the Bills took and the Bills have Nance, a player whom somebody thought was a top 100 at 1 point...
  13. Dana Stubblefield 6'2" 300 mark to Bryant Young. There's plenty of examples of guys playing the 1 technique at around 300 and the 3 technique at 285 ranges... Chad Eaton 6'5" 300 mark to John Randle. Brandon Noble and La'Roi Glover... ...hopefully McCargo is strong and can anchor in, bringing mobilty. There's no doubt he's "stout" by this listing. I laughed at Williams being listed at 299lb- surely someone could have added a glass of water for 305lbs!
  14. Technique or coaching? A D-lineman wants to get inside of his man in order to beat him. O'line, in pass anyways, wants to use that big ol' hand and hit his defender at distance (see a Randall MacDaniel and that club) in order to minimise the defenders technique, keeping his body in front of the defender, hands out to guide. In run, it's more an individual technique, some lead with helmet and pads, but typically you again try and hit your defender and then keeping legs under you, bringing your body into him to drive/ seal him off. If your defender is hit and is stationary, they are the ones who need to restart their inertia, they have none- hence the search for guys with massively long/ built arms. Some guys aren't great in space, often a confidence thing- "what if I miss".
  15. Who authors these?...still laughing.
  16. ...I just saw him leaving Donut King in Glen Waverley, Australia with Elvis...
  17. ...but isn'r the annual Superbowl Champion declared the "World Champion" as well... Maybe a team could relocate to Melbourne, Australia. I wouldn't have so far to travel...
  18. I'd say after the GW years and failure to progress that there would be some unhappy pros at Buffalo. We sign Mularkey and Hurray, all that will change and we're 9-7. However, by week 8 the next yeat, the Offensive co-ordinator is effectively neutered, Moulds is pissed, there's a 2 headed QB, Magahee runs out of interest from sitting on 3rd's and Adams is riding the pine. We regress to 5-11. Heck, at the end of the year the Coach QUITS and the GM jumps. Leaders like Malloy are injured and playing through and the O-line has got no idea what's going on. Is see some positives from this draft. Yeah, a lot of folk are critical of the values placed on some of the prospects, but i tend to agree. I'd tend to beleive these guys are here to show that they belong, no matter there draft value. Unlike Big Mike, whom seemed happy to be hanging out in the millionaires club rather than aiming for the HoF, or at least peer respect. I also like the Fletcher/ Whiten raport and the old collegiate connections. This should see better team chemistry, something sadly lacking. Maybe then, some pressure off of Losman to be the "Bills" personality will allow him to play better as well. Despite what the "experts" have predicted, i've only read good things from the players, things it's been awhile for a Bill to speak it seems.
  19. I thought that McCargo was an interesting pick at # 26, only from what i've read in Mock (right word) drafts. I have no idea of college football- in Oz it's not shown on pay TV very often, maybe a 'Bowl game. The only other way is the 'net. Anyway, I noted that Rd #1 had 3 Dt's taken. Then Nada in Rd # 2 whatsoever (?) and only 2 (Dvoracek and Wroten) in Rd #3. Overall, then that's 5 DT's out of nearly 100 picks. I can remember drafts when it's been almost 5 DT's taken Rd # 1 alone. Maybe McCargo was a Rd #2 or Rd # 3 prospect but after the 2 higher rated DT's- Bunkley and Ngata went (after all we'd taken Whiten) there was such an obvious drop off in DT talent that ML and Co. felt the need to gamble in order to get a DT. Is that possible?
  20. Nice pick of the trade there mate.
  21. 3. Buffalo Bills: The Bills were in a great spot at No. 8. They had at least two teams -- Denver and Minnesota -- calling up offering draft choices to move up. Those teams were looking for quarterbacks. The Bills could have worked a deal with the Eagles, who were considering a move to No. 8 to take a defensive tackle. Taking a safety, Donte Whitner, at No. 8 instead of accepting one of those deals just wasn't a good value. Sure, maybe they weren't getting offers that matched the trade value chart, but wouldn't it have been better to move down and get anything extra. They would still have been able to get Whitner. The Bills feared losing Whitner to the Lions, who didn't get Michael Huff at No. 9. That wasn't going to happen because the Lions were taking linebacker Ernie Sims if they didn't get Huff, who went to the Raiders. The Bills went a little too conservative. I'm a little way away over the other side of the Pacific, but can someone add a little more detail than this? 1. So we could have worked a deal but didn't. I'm sorry, that's one too many for the "could've, would've, should've" brigade for me. 2. Whitner was taken because Huff went the pick before and we thought we may lose a safety that we rated as at least a #1 pick to a team that we really thought wanted a saftey as well- the Lions. So, low and behold, after Huff and Whitner are gone, the Lions take Big Ernie. 3. The Bills went a little too conservative...Seriously? How conservative was it to take a player most draft "betnicks" had as a mid teen to low 20 player. We traded, what a 2nd (#42) and a 3rd to move back into round 1 and draft a DT some thought could have been available as late as round 3, possibly even 4. And then we chose another Buckeye (long tradition of Buckeye CB's) deep into the first day, round 3 when some I've read some draft "betnicks" (damn Modrak and that word) had as a very late #1 or at least #2 and the NFL draft tracker rates him a 6.19 (or something). I am suprised as everyone not over 80 or with white hair connected with the Buffalo Bills that we took Whitner and McCargo. But I'd hardly call the dealing for them as conservative. Risky, maybe. Conservative it aint. I guess if the Bills were preparing my Superannuation and the draft was there risk/ return I would be a little pissed. That said, I hope Whitner comes to camp and LIGHTs everyone up.
  22. Any relation to Mario Hagan?
  23. Mate, seriously...walk up...this is Melbourne. I'd be suprised if after all that's gone on in Melbourne recently; Com. Games, Grand Prix, AFL (return), Socceroos v Greece that this games a sell out.
