Probably you. I amuse myself through exercises such as this one. I don't think about Trump much at all. He's cooked. HIs rabid followers, however, remain a lingering problem. In many ways it's better that he's in this purgatory because it ultimately will hurt the 2024 Republican nominee, hopefully cause that nominee to lose the election, and give us four years of breathing room for MAGA to flame out. Also, I didn't call you a Nazi. I also didn't call you MAGA. For whatever reasons you sought to inject those labels into your comment. I have no idea why you did that. There's a difference between being center right, or a traditional Republican, and being MAGA. You're looking for a roommate? Or are you talking about the bunker where Trump hid from "Antifa?"

Hoax. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. He's never doing such a thing. If you live in a trailer park or drive a pickup truck (two common characteristics of MAGA), then he hates you just as much as he hates Mexicans, African-Americans, RINOs, and the like. Discuss.

A core tenet of MAGA is to be mad at something or someone else (trans, Mexicans, Democrats, RINOs) so as to push blame for the MAGA member's shortcomings in life (laziness, poor education, lack of discipline, marginal work ethic) onto someone else.

Ultimately it’s not his choice. This thing is going if the judge wants it to go.

The easiest way to do it would be to get Trump to stip to the nature of the documents. The import rests in what the docs are, not necessarily in what they say. So maybe silent witness rule. Before that happens the Trump lawyers probably have to get eyes on the docs in a secure setting (maybe Trump does, too, to be fair). If it goes that route, then I don’t see why they can’t run this thing by May.

Yup. But that’s not the issue. The question—which is facing Speaker McCarthy at the moment—is whether to expunge the impeachment in the house. Feel free to vote if you haven’t done so already in our handy dandy poll. It seems like a lot of MAGA are avoiding the issue. Kind of like most House Republicans would like to do. I tend to agree with you. This might be the “out” for House Republicans.

With anybody else it would plead, but Trump is such a d-bag he’ll run it through trial and risk public discussion of what by all accounts are sensitive matters. I disagree on the aggressiveness; the case basically is documents, establishing that the documents are classified/secret/etc., establishing a chain of custody/control with respect to those documents, and establishing intent to withhold said documents from federal agents. It’s probably a relatively small universe of witnesses — in a normal context, I wonder if much of the “chain” testimony could be stipulated to — so no reason to let this thing fester. Get it done.

I'll start, since our MAGA denizens apparently are still sleeping off the prior night's caloric intake. I voted no because I believe in the rule of law. It's pretty simple. There is legally sufficient evidence that Trump engaged in obstruction of justice, per the Mueller report, and the January 6 catastrophe speaks for itself.
