The Florida Blueprint: Inflation
SectionC3 replied to SectionC3's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Hoax. Inflation has occurred because of free money (a MAGA policy idea) and pent up demand. And, your pal Ron could promote such things as rent control measures (like in New York City) to help curb inflation in his home state—a species of governmental involvement in the economy that MAGA commies wish to conduct on the federal level. But he hasn’t. So MAGA now is at an interesting crossroads - it can choose a path of intellectual honesty and fault De Santis (as it has Biden) for failing to intercede in the free market economy. Or it can use MAGA logic, fault Biden for failing to take the MAGA commie approach that MAGA now seems to espouse, and continue to look the other way as Ron diddles around trying to use the levers of government to mess with a cartoon mouse with whom he disagrees. Hoax. I’m a capitalist. Supply and demand, big boy. This is what it costs if you want to buy a wasteful SUV. And, apparently, there are people who buy this car at that price. You keep on being a MAGA commie. I’m going to be keep on being a capitalist. -

This is what happens when you have an almost libertarian approach to economic issues. Personally, I'm somewhere in the middle. I like it when I turn my car on and it doesn't explode because we have regulations and standards for matters of such nature. But the flip side is that people pay more in the absence of such things as rate controls for insurance products. And I'm generally OK with that (except, perhaps, in an area like health coverage that is susceptible to gouging). Such is life. Hoax. Unhinged is the crackpots at the Capitol on January 6. Hoax. Good thing we didn't privatize social security 25 years ago like Republicans wanted. Nobody thought about a black swan like the WTC or COVID. And if social security was privatized, people trying to retire in 2021 would have been in a tough spot. Not me, because I'm not a hand-to-mouth MAGA whiner and I work smartly for a living. But some other people. -

Hoax. You think Biden should take control of the national economy to stifle inflation. Yet you don't feel the same about De Santis commanding the Florida economy. You must be a selective commie, then. Which is even worse than being a regular commie. At least the full-time commies are principled. -
They obviously made an effort this year, but I generally agree with you. Gotta pay to protect him. I think there's a difference between designed runs and pocket escapes. We cannot keep using Josh as our short-yardage back. It has to change. I don't mind the escapes - I think there's more danger in the pocket in those scenarios - but we are going to shorten this guy's career if we continue to use him as a battering ram.

Hoax. Apparently satire is not something with which my MAGA commie colleagues, such as you, are familiar. It's a sad indictment maybe of our schools, perhaps of your parents, and definitely of you. -
https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/10/economy/florida-inflation-hotspot-regional/index.html Maybe one of our newly-minted MAGA Commies (I think that's @Big Blitz) can pop in and explain how, just like Biden should have taken control of the economy, De Santis should do the same in Florida to address this free market issue. I believe that this is one of the ups and downs of capitalism. Our MAGA colleagues, however, do not. Sad.

I'll defend grammar here. When you articulate a plural (Bidens) as a possessive (Biden's), lots of people (not me, mind you, but lots of people) might say that you're not so smart. Hoax. If you worried half as much about Trump's rejection of the rule of law as you do about this laptop this country would be in a much better place. -

Hoax. Only a small number of applications for a pardon are granted. He was one of the lucky ones. -

Hoax. He didn’t receive the pardon in consideration for the plea. The pardon was given as an override of the justice system by a president who neither respects nor understands the rule of law. -

Hoax. I’m sorry that your pal in the field of conspiracy theories admitted his guilt. Actually that’s a hoax, too. When criminals plead guilty I don’t feel badly for them. Like it or lump it, your boy is a criminal. Until you can accept that, I guess you’re against the rule of law. Sad. -

I don't want "a[n] influx of Mexican people" unless they're here legally. I also don't believe in demonizing someone because they don't look like me. And, I respect more than I can relate the work ethic of someone who comes here--legally or illegally--, frequently learns a new language, and works harder than I've ever worked to make a better life for himself or herself and their families. It's inspiring. And, frankly, it's American. I don't disagree with your view of today's twenty somethings as generally spoiled and lazy. Not all are that way. But many are. I'd add MAGA slobs to that list though, too. All of these biggins who ate and drank to excess and thought they worked hard their entire lives but now whine about socialism and the absence of a raise in their social security in the same breath (while they struggled with COPD and diabetes treated by Medicare) are just as bad as the "woke" you describe. Yes, driving truck and picking up my trash, for example, is hard work and it should be treated with dignity and respect. But simply because someone like me doesn't do it doesn't mean that I don't work hard or that I don't deserve to enjoy the fruits of my labor. I did a lot of stuff that those fat lazy slobs didn't feel like doing, and their crappy lot in life is their problem. Not mine, not some faceless Mexican, not some wet-behind-the-ears social media whiner. It's on them. So they're just as bad as the people about whom they complain.

But your interest in due process was kindled only when Trump became a target of an investigation. Lock her up? Apparently that was totally cool. Due process for immigrants? Apparently nobody read the part about the constitution applying to people, not simply to citizens. When the looting starts, the shooting starts? Not a clarion call to take justice into one's own hands.
-
Hoax. Someone can have an opinion about the weight and importance of evidence without concomitantly suggesting that due process be disregarded. Also, weren't you one of the guys yelling "lock her up" and then quickly mumbling "after due process is afforded" at rallies in 2016? Or maybe I heard it wrong and you weren't so mumbling.

Winner winner chicken dinner. It's reminiscent of all of the Republican town officials in New York State whining when Cuomo threatened to cut aid to local governments after the Trump Tax giveaway reduced the SALT deduction. They were all for the Trump tax plan and cutting state taxes, until Cuomo told them that it was coming out of their end. I'm all for making the allocation of federal funds fair. If that means we cut services in places like South Carolina that don't want to have their residents pay their fair share, then so be it.

Lefties are mentally disturbed and must be stopped.

My version of Christianity involves telling the truth about phonies who exploit Christ for personal gain. Like Donald trump. And Sarah Sanders. -

Maybe instead of worrying about "bullying liberals" she should stand up to phonies who exploit the Gospel and Christianity for personal gain. Like her former boss. I wonder how Sarah's version of Christianity meshes with my version of Christianity. I don't support keeping kids in cages because, after all, Jesus was a brown migrant. Sarah did. I'm not sure the very nice chalk drawing of her children quite balances out the whole putting migrants in cages and demonizing brown people things, but I'm not some prosperity Gospel hillbilly from some hopeless backwater locale, so I might not be the best person to help Ms. Huckabee Sanders with that issue.
