  1. Correct, this is from last week. The OP stated without the outside pressure and the video, he prolly would not have been charged, and that happens all to often when it comes to police and black victims. BTW, i wonder how hard it would be to have a seperate DA that only looks at these types of cases. Seems to me , i the DA has to work with that particular police force to do his job, it is an inherit conflict of interest of interest no?
  2. https://thesource.com/2020/05/29/watch-da-mike-freeman-there-is-not-enough-evidence-to-charge-the-four-minnesota-officers-in-the-death-of-george-floyd/
  3. if you go to DC, sit down and play a game. Great fun..They know i am a rank ametuer, more than happy to take my money! They also play in Dupont Circle, little more serious there, not as fun..younger crowd. The old guys in Lafeyette know tourists are their marks, so they keep light and fun
  4. Augenstein well respected locl reporter in DC..interesting reporting. I was watching the news as they were doing the clearing, sure seemed like it was coordinated with the Trump Rose Garden speech, but certainly i could be wrong, and appears i was. Watching live last night..(on Fox i might add, Baird is the only guy that i think us even half truthful anymore) , sure seemed like some kind of gas/crowd scatter thing was being used. Did not appear to be harmful, to me looked like it was more meant to scare. What i saw on camera is cops would form a line, wait a few minutes, then run for about 30 seconds forward and establish another line...accompanying with those blast/gas things. I have a place less than a mile from Lafayette Park..every once in a while for fun i go there and lose $5 or $10 playing chess in like 4 minutes!
  5. I agree. Choice is clear. The thug in charge will be voted out easily.
  6. Not quite sure what you mean but.....you know I am a Never Trumper. It is amazing the number of people who i have worked with over the years...at many companies and almost all based out the Valley..that have told me they voted for Trump but could let that be known as it could jeopardize their job performance and job security. We all realize that our agre starting with the #5 is the biggest risk to employment status in the Valley, but being MAGA might be in second place LOL.
  7. runs both ways BTW..the issue is not Trump/Never Trump..the issue is "you dont think like me, therefore you are stupid" ..its rampant across society, and as this board is a microcosm of society, i will use it as proof. how in the hell do i not remember this plot line at all. As a degenerate horse player this movie speaks to me...even more so to us of an older generation before simulcasting. 9 races a day brother. I remember being at Hawthorne one day needing to make a phone call, had to physically leave track grounds to make a call as no pay phones on site..they wanted to make sure people were not placing bets with their book instead of at the track LOL. BTW, was just joking with my wife earlier in the day, everyone should be forced to spend 2 hours at an OTB bar. Does not matter how much money ya have, what color you are, what religion you are...all that matters is " do ya got a winner?". And let me tell ya, if you an areshole, you will be run out of said bar no matter race , wealth etc. Most democratic, bias free place i regularly spend time at.
  8. read somewhere yesterday that a lot of insurance policies do not cover social unrest..not sure if that is accurate or not. . But may be advantages to business owners to have that plan enacted..whats a couple hundreed million thrown on a trillion?
  9. This piece nails what my thoughts have been since about mid to late April, when real data and facts started to emerge and decisions could be based on science and not models. These lockdowns, while not scientifically correct, also disproportionately affect those at the lower end of the economic spectrum. The very same people "far left liberals" pretend to always fight for, are getting devastated , and may not recover. BTW, i really like Muhammad El-Erain, wicked smart dude. https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/united-states/2020-06-01/great-unequalizer
  10. @Mr Info, can hook ya up with a friend who has had the 3 for about a year I think. Fairly certain she is very pleased. I am with you, can't wait for truly autonomous driving. Tesla is not a car with a computer, it is really just an app with wheels..freaking awesome. In terms of the stock, i thought they were never gunna make..sure as hell glad I did not short it! Also, this is not the exact presentaion i dont think, but this guy talks a ton about solar, Autonomous cars etc..think you would enjoy it
  11. Great show, as is Catastrophe. I watched The Great on Hulu, pretty funny is spots, pretty intense in others. Different type of show to be sure. I highly recommend it, but be warned graphic language and sexual content, violence as well.
  12. Very astute young man!
  13. That’s it! Thank you. Awesome memory! Now have to google what that was. I originally thought Sullivan Award, but that was the AAU award
  14. Still hate the dude for missing that gimme against the Dolphins in 79
  15. How in the hell did you know this?
  16. Hey all, Richard Deitsch had a twitter question today about the first professional athlete you met, and where you met them. Mine was meeting Tom Dempsey at a sports banquet at the Niagara Falls Ramada Inn..maybe 71 or 72...and he was receiving some kind of sports award that always seemed to be presented in Buffalo. I cannot for the life of me remember what that award was!!! does anyone else recollect this or am i just going crazy?
  17. Do you read what others post? Cause it sure seems you are not comprehending 1) the actual numbers that were postes 2) what @shoshin wrote, and what he has been saying in this thread for at least a month.
  18. which report is this referencing? thx
  19. Cramer has turned on Fauci...No masks...now masks save lives!! Inevitable its gunna be bad in fall, yesterday maybe it won't' come back. "he has been offering some ill advised information, and i say that as someone who reveres him" Think that is a good synopsis on how so many of us feel. Then they go on to hammer CDC..like the business guys..they have one idealogy..whats best for the country
  20. Good points, but at least the business leaders have to answer to real numbers every 3 months, unlike the idiots on both sides of the aisle today. And great point on the checking account balances..and my guess is that WFH does impact that way..and that money might fuel pent up consumer demand as we open. Anecdotally, 2020 doing its thing seems to me and friends as well. So far during this shutdown i have 1) repaired an air handling unit to tune to $600 2) Needed to buy new grill..$700 3) Needed to repair irrigation system to tune of $500 4) had a car die, so bought new car 5) rejoined club as full golf member, cause what the hell else was i gunna do And seems like all my friends have had similiar things happen..Gods way of forcing us that spend i guess!
