  1. Well, o have had my license since 78, never been cited for an open container. now I gots big problem with driving while drunk , that rightly is and should be strictly enforced. I just don’t understand why if I have 3 beers in a bar, get in a car and drive home that is somehow okay, but if I have a beer as I am driving to the Home Depot and back it is somehow illegal, and worse to some people immoral. It’s a dumb law. What matters is how much I drink, not where I drink it.
  2. And I have never once had an issue or been cited for it. Just a heads up, I speed to, all the time, and that prolly way more dangerous than having a beer as I drive. glad to know you follow all “‘laws”’to T!
  3. I drive with an open container all the time, and I am 57. It’s a dumb law.
  4. So you made a mistake in a life choice by 23 , and this dude should be ostracized because he had a lapse in judgement?
  5. You’d have to show that one to me. If it is, maybe the stupidest law in the books in the country.
  6. Open container is WAY different than DWI
  7. How in the he’ll is that an issue? Did you see him have any issue with coaches or teammates last year? Dude “ possibly”’made a mistake. It sucks if he did, it is not a testament to his character. Sure glad you have never made a mistake. Surprised they took blood, not surprised if he refused a breathalyzer . I was stopped about 6 years ago for speeding , had a roadie open , did all my tests perfectly . They said let’s do a breathalyzer just to be sure. Told em go take a flying leap. They had no basis to believe I was impaired. I would never take a breathalyzer , especially if I was a young black man. I did not see that quote. Is there another article , I only saw the PFT blog. Thx !
  8. Rico, see you an old timer too! That show is when i first saw Fred, and loved it...what a fantastic comedic actor..RIP
  9. There are people out there that vote their conscious, and we are better for it. Proud of my Representative, keep an eye on her if she decides to make a career of politics. Only campaign i have ever volunteered for and fund raise for. @Buffalo_Gal. https://www.richmond.com/news/virginia/spanberger-opposes-latest-stimulus-package-saying-it-goes-far-beyond-pandemic-relief/article_c0d7b166-59aa-5204-b2c3-21d85fa5b3ab.html
  10. i dunno, maybe i been there at the end to many times. Maybe it's seeing my folks say leaving my kids with 90K to split 3 ways was way more important to them then an extra couple months in a nursing home..they worked their whole lives, and were proud AF they were leaving something to their kids ..the dignity in that is hard to comprehend for so many people. And to be clear not saying @shoshin, saying the body politic that says no life is worth sacrificing for the economy
  11. Agreed, but to deny the reality that we have always balanced the loss of life vs the greater good of the country is also not true.
  12. lot o wars over 250 years..all fought to preserve ourway of life
  13. agreed, and we need to be able to have rational conservations about the moral decisions around sacrificing lives downstream that have an expected life span of greater than 50 years vs ones that have an expected lifespan of 3 months.Callousness it may be, i call it utilitarianism , Why was it not an issue to send young men( for the most part) to fight wars , but now we have an issue with talking about the fact that some at end of life are going to be put in danger in order to preserve our way of life and yes, our very country.
  14. okay? where do i sign up to be first in line? hmm, what callouness. Average stay in a nursing home under 6 months, in a state run facility under 4 months. People leaving aint going home cause they got better. People freaking die all the time, its what we do. Its why we have hospice. Both parents and my brother I guess could have gone to nursing homes and eeked out a few more months, they decided whats the freaking point...gunna die there or die at home..they chose to die at home. The real callousness is people ( not you i know) who refuse to acknowledge any downstream effects and deaths the lockdowns may cause, especially on children in homes with lesser means...that's some serious callousness.
  15. of course i was being facetious, but article is promising, good news if true...and these things can be introduced so much quicker than typical "vaccine" . AI baby..been saying it since the start of this crisis...new ways of doing things I took test on Monday just trying to get the VA test numbers up, percentage of positives down. And guess what,,it worked!!! My day today consists of golfing at 11:30, start drinking back 9, Uber to a local establishment here that has a great outdoor bar scene( yes, have a reservations)..meeting buddy there..cant wait to to PAY for a beer and ogle young ladies who find us totally disgusting old men again!!!! Hopefully make it to 10PM..Uber home! Wife has just departed to go to VA Beach and has lunch reservations with her Mom... VA is open baby!!!!!!!!!
  16. hmm, pandemic all over? https://www.foxnews.com/science/covid-cure-california-biopharmaceutical-coronavirus-antibody-breakthrough
  17. To be clear..the vote will not be pro Trump...but just so anti Left and anti Media...
  18. I dont know how to say this without sounding callous, but taken from a strictly political standpoint,It has become readily apparent to most of a large portion of conservative, never Trumpers,(me, and my ilk) that the other side cares not about our health and well being, but only about defeating Trump. I am a gambler, and i can't see a way Trump does not win ..when you have pretty much lost me, you have lost all independants.
  19. Got to be a better dirty old man like me!
  20. The never shut down i think is very relevant, and should be compared to our numbers..for the very reason its like A/B testing. What is working better..if net net infection, deaths, etc are similar, yet they are building immunity...you know what I mean. But i take your points on the differences as well I take it as good news cases going up if hospitalizations and deaths are raising at same rate.
  21. I would love for you tpo post links to these numbers..i think they are relevant, and I am not questioning them...just want to be able to prove it to people No I don't, but not he right forum to argue it
  22. okay, you will have to explain to me why a sample set with 1.4M people living in a densely populated city is not a good comparison. https://worldpopulationreview.com/world-cities/stockholm-population/ In this list of population density in the us, outside of the NYC region i dont see any higher than Stockholm at 13K per square mile https://www.governing.com/gov-data/population-density-land-area-cities-map.html
  23. not quite sure what you mean? You mean cause they did not lockdown their numbers are irrelevant?
  24. while i agree with the majority of your post, make sure you have numbers correct. 36K car deaths in US last year, but point is still valid What this has to do with taking a knee or the National Anthem is beyond my comprehension. Please explain. The argument for following where the numbers take us, and that there needs to be cost benefit analysis performed, gets lost when you frame it in context of politics and other extraneous facts. The whole argument needs to be based strictly on numbers, not political ideology.
