Not sure there was any dash cam , but there could have been I guess. This was a good 7 years ago , maybe not as prevalent? kept telling the guy, listen, o watch too many cop TV shows. No way I blowing into that thing, I am perfectly capable, performed every test flawlessly.. I mean really? Almost had a feeling they were asking as if I agreed I would have had to have been drunk!

Not discouraging to me at all. I have been in business long enough to know that throwing money at a problem is most always the answer. They have been doing the for 9 years with sub-optimal( dismal) results. They were “ persistent” , now it is the time to not be “ insane” do not keep doing the same things and expect different results. Maybe leaner means better and more decisive?

Posted 1 hour ago @Hapless Bills Fan Will do my best to answer your here. First, i do not buy the argument that half of the US population carries higher risk factors and much higher risk of bad outcomes . I dont buy that, and think it highlights what many have dubbed "panic porn". If that were the case, ;logically would not young people with those conditions be dying at the same rate as older people? This has been proven to be much more fatal to older folks with one or more comorbidity factors...you would have to show me the numbers to convince me young and old affected the same , i have not seen numbers like that and have no idea where i could find them. 2nd. Not quite sure what your point is on #2 . If your thesis is that because 50% have high risk factors , we should continue with lockdown and only keep essential services open? Things like grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals, Walmart etc? If that is the case, one has to assume a good portion of those folks work in grocery stores, work picking up trash, work cleaning hospitals, provising personal care to the elderly..in other words people who are doing "essential" jobs now..make up 50% of those jobs as well. We also know minorities make up a higher portion of those jobs, so i would say that even higher than 50% rhigh risk factor make up those jobs now. We know minority is truly a high risk factor due to more crowded living conditions and more multi generational housing. So, I will ask you how have those people getting those services/goods now? Is it okay for higher risks groups to continue to work and continue to place their families at risk while the rest of us stay home and get paid, order Grubhub, order Amazon everyday, go to Lowes cause I need to get my garden in, protest in groups of hundreds of thousands? Is it okay to continue to have migrant farm workers and hispanic workers at meat plants work as cases in those environments spike like crazy? If so, please tell me why? My answer is those with true , proven, high risk factors are guaranteed pay through we get a vaccine or very extremly effective therpy, and a guaranteed job upon return. If you have an elder in your home with comorbidity factors, they need to be self isolated as muchas possible and those families are giving the absolute top notch PPE that prevents transmission

I look at it the other way...they were not afraid to buck the " continuity at all costs" idiocy ..and at least know when they made a mistake.

Agreed their is a growing middle class, but not near enough wealth after having been in the "Great Society" for almost 60 years now. That is truly what the Democratic party has been doing for 60 years. Opportunity is name of the game, not social media platitudes and garbage photo ops .

Texans and Cowboys players test positive

So, should the season be cancelled because a few coaches are overweight and older? By that logic, 2500 players, i am guessing 5X in coaching in direct administrative roles etc so , plus all the TV personnel, plus all the folks in advertising, plus all the countless 1000s other people affected by a shutdown ...they should all lose their livelihood instead of the high risk people staying home. The good of the 100's is more important than the good of millions? -
Just to play devils advocate..Candace Owens is making a living, and God bless her, being held up as " see, even black people" ...

agreed 100%. Funny story, not quite apples to apples, but will relay it anyway. 25 years ago when i worked for ADP, had a sales call at a small non Profit in DC ..English First. First blush , i thought it would be a "right" leaning place that was trying to make English the official language and hurt immigrants trying to learn ESL and slowly transition to life in the US. And my left leaning self was like " gunna suck selling to these guys, but they have a right to get paid to" Turns out it was a non-profit started by a group of Hispanic Immigrants, and they did want to make English the official language. Their argument was that by providing so much information in Spanish and not forcing people to learn english, it was a detriment to Hispanics advancing in society and perpetually keeping them lower educated and with less economic opportunity. I talked with the director for an hour that day about the mission of his organization, really made me examine lots of what i previously thought.

again, point out my white guilt statements, instanseouly will donate $1000 to your favorite charity...or is it you only know how to parrot talking points with no real thought process
-
Haha..you are such a slow person. Tell ya what, you point out where any statement i have points to white guilt and i will donate a $1000 to your favorite charity
-
you are whatever without a 3rd grade reading comprehension level...acknowledging that racism exists in this world is not white guilt..hard concept for you I am sure...everyone is out to get you!!! Must suck always knowing you are the dumbest guy in the room

This is why you are a knucklehead poster...nonsensical reply...

agreed..and one needs to calculate that risk. At the very least, i would insist on a chemical test in the station....my 60's upbringing may be coming up LOL, but i just don't trust those field breathalyser... and in my case i knew 100% i was not impaired, did all my tests perfectly...why would i consent to a test that could be faulty when i just emphatically had proven i was fine to drive... I contemplated hiring an attorney as i don't think he was legally allowed to restrain my ability to drive home, but decided the money was not worth the point.

couple of things here..hit ignore on this particular poster you are replying to..no meaningful conversation will be had. So don't let him get you fired up. To your original posit..i did not like the poll options. I will watch the documentary, as i watch a ton of documentaries, and form an opinion when I am finished watching it.Certainly not scared of anything, would think i will leran some new things as i am always learning, and may call BS on stuff in their if i see it slanted or not factual. two fantastic docs if you have not seen before https://www.amazon.com/Freedom-Summer-Stanley-Nelson/dp/B00L9WXZ5A And this is one of the most powerful documentaries I have ever seen. Not free anymore, but buy it...the courageousness of the folks who participated in the Freedom Rides is just extraordinary to me. https://www.pbs.org/video/american-experience-freedom-riders/ as a 57 year old white man, the most shocking thing i have heard over and over again is " i had no idea this kind of thing went on"...by so many so much younger than me..I mean, where ya been? Having said that, i am not afraid to call bs, bs. And it can rain BS from both extreme sides..there is a space for debate and nuanced arguments , as well as solutions....s And the race thing is played by both parties. DEmocrats just more open about what they think of black voters. And if you are new here, i am a staunch anti Trumper and will be voting fro Biden( most likely), but think the one area where Republicans have a stronger case for my vote is how they approach issues that affect minorities. Democrats assume only they can help minorities, as the minorities themselves cannot possibly help themselves. I mean if i was a black voter and heard " you aint black if you not voting for me" that would make my blood boil. Did that not bother you?
-
i was stopped a while back, did my tests perfectly, cop asked me to take a breathalyser so " i could drive home"...he stressed to me like 4 or 5 times if i blew over .08 it would have no impact ...they were not going to charge me based on my field test....yep, had to have my wife pick me up..no way i blowing into that thing. And i think most lawyers now always advise do not blow...just refuse it. he did? How you know that?

I would not go that far...Botterill i know is bad...Adams i have no clue...but can he really take the Sabres lower in the standings than Botts did?

WNY native, long time NHL player..business admin side of Sabres now. BTW, won a Cup with the HUrricanes in 06, so maybe this is the Sabres cosmic offering to the hockey gods that finally gets this franchise back to that spot

Cmon Doc, logically where do we stop this. Person A works in a grocery store, person B comes into store, person B girlfriends father's wife is asymptomatic covid, person B is now asymptomatic positive, ,Person B gives to Person A...and run your scenario from there. Should we require all groceries to be delivered to your home so no one in a nursing ever gets sick again? Tell me where the line is drawn...I am all for a TOTAL lockdown for 3 weeks...and i mean n o one leaves their freaking house, and essentials are delivered ala China...absent of that..we just whistling at the wind We have 4-8 deaths per average in high school football every year...lets shut it down to...forever. As a matter of fact, according to this study football causes detah by ALS and Alzheimer's, so by the logic of "someone may die" we should shut it down, and it needs to be permanent. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/249912 Pretty soon all of your biological and genetic info is going to known in "order to contain the virus"...and then people will really get cranky when they cant get health insurance or life insurance lethal to half of America??? My lord, the panic porn has grown deep in our society. [Edit: please see my response -Hap] we should take precautions...no worries there. But people under 40 die for a ton of reasons, but the infesteimal number caused by Covid is a blip..the vast majority of deaths 10-45 is caused by unintentional injury...so if we all just stayed home forever that would take that away!
