I don't understand the " he would not sign in Buffalo" stuff. No indication one way or the other on that. I do know the Bills had him locked up for at least next year on the Franchise tag. Problem is if Sammy has a 4th season exactly like the one he has had the first 3. Do you tag him? For 1000 yds? Again, the dude had two 1000 yd years before last season and the big injury. That' is what he has proven. The rest is potential. This is not a guy who had a 1600 yd year and 15 TDS, then got hurt.

Yes, I worded it poorly. I am saying based on his production over 3 years, this trade makes sense. Most keep pointing to his "potential" , or as you stated"perform to this ability" , then he should be a stud. I agree with that, but to date, he has not done that. THE OP's argument was draft picks represent potential, and my argument is Sammy represents the exact same thing. In terms of the injuries, i do not fear the foot, from everything i have read, that sucker should be fine after the 2nd surgery. It is always the more nagging little injuries like hammys, ankles, etc that i fear. And its not that he misses a game, is that those things keep him from playing to his potential.

Agree Dave, but think the key word there is "potential'? OP main argument we are trading a proven commodity for draft picks, which represent "potential" So let me ask you this . if Watkins has the same year as his first three years..his proven production in 3 years so to speak.will the trade be a bust?

WTF are trying to say here? I cannot follow the logic at all how Sammy getting traded somehow relates to QB's getting injured. And hell yes, i can argue Top 5 talent...he has been in the league 3 years, and not even close to being in the Top 5 of Receivers in this league. No one can argue that based on production. And i assume you are all about production, cause your entire argument is potential in the draft means nothing, it s a crapshoot, and proven production in the NFL is what is critical. Hell, he may not even be in the Top 5 of his draft class at WR, let alone top 5 in that draft over all. And BTW, i am a Sammy fan, and my kid wears a Sammy jersey to every freaking game we go to Scott will fade away when pressed to have some courage behind his convictions

Now this was funny...Bean and the Bills, Pol Pot and Khmer Rouge...awesome

What in the world does this have to do with your argument? I think most of the "analytics" guys are trending this way, same as with RB. A position you should be able to address in later rounds of the draft. you say the NFL draft is a crap shoot, then downplay the value of having extra die to make numbers...please get your story and argument coherent .

How much money do you spend on alcohol a month?
plenzmd1 replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall Archives
wine ratings are such a funny thing, kinda like the quotes thrown up in a movie ad. All that matters is your rating, and you like it Rare Saturday where we stayed home last night, saved a good $50 at least on booze last night, even considering the nice 750ML Saison and nice bottle of wine we had. -
Cruise Control: Do you use it?
plenzmd1 replied to Southern McButterpants's topic in Off the Wall Archives
We do have a pet peeves thread for this ! But anwser your questions, 95 from NYC to The Outerbanks always crazy from May-September. Saturday even worse than Sunday, as so many rentals run Sat-Sat. For the most part, you will go and a much faster and consistent pace in the right lane on 95 , trust me on this. i use cruise control when it makes sense. Mine now even slows down if you get too close to car in front of you. -
still trying to decide if we go Korean, Buffalo, or smoked wings. Might be doing some carnitas as well.

Claim his ass off waivers, waive Hauhska(sp) , one more towards our comp pick

you know what Kirby, that is a great idea. My son is a Junior in high school this year, already promised him trip to GreenBay for the Bills game next year, this would be another great Bills event to attend together. And it may lead to him having a good run as a Bills fan in early adulthood

Can we please keep Dareus Out of the Trade Threads or Posts
plenzmd1 replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's just play this game for a minute Let's say the Steelers came to the Bills and said we will give you two first's for Dareus....we would all take that deal right? Shoot, i think most would take a condional 2nd to get that number off our cap. So the trade is made. Bills have about $8M in available space, so now you need to find $30M to cut from cap this year...how ya gonna do that? Can't cut a veteran that would cause more dead money. In other words, it is LITERALLY impossible for the BIlls to cut or trade Dareus this year...so we can jus do away with it posts and threads -
Dareus is going nowhere, at least not for the next two years. Dead Cap hit if traded or cut : 2017 - $38.5M 2018- $22.5M Yes, those numbers are correct...so please for the love of God can we not speculate that he is going to be next BTW, just for info Cap hits this year if cut or traded Shady-- $8M Hughes -$11M Clay -----$13.5 Glenn . $25M Taylor . $18M In other words, only guys getting traded or cut of the big name players are guys still on ROOKIE deals..

Go on record regarding the trades

Good points on Watkins that I had not thought of before, but I never in the world thought they would trade Sammy. So I thought not picking up the option was worth the couple $M risk. -

Yes. INitially very pissed. Now like it. Has a lot to do with thinking Pats are a lock this year, and possibly next if Brady still plays. Build for when he is gone -

Is there a reason Kelso is the color guy for the Bills? Heard him for a second today...basically said I've been too busy to talk to McDermott this offseason. Seems like I remember him saying something similar last year when i heard him on a pregame. For the folks who listen to Murph/Kelso insteadof the TV..is he any good? -
