Best non power five conferences
plenzmd1 replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in College Football
CAA top to bottom better than all those conferences? -
Mine are mainly around sports...I listen religiously to Pardon My Take (PMT) and Tony Kornheiser @thisshowstinks!!! Tony does delve into politics and entertainment and tells funny, funny stories, but the show still revolves around sports. And prolly better too if you are a DC guy..UK kinda close to DC!! Non-sports ones I have listened to and enjoyed include the Origins by James Miller...great oral histories of shows etc. https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/origins-with-james-andrew-miller/id1266445999?mt=2

Cohen's Plea Deal and its Implications for Trump
plenzmd1 replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
DR, I have a question for you., and I am not being sarcastic. I keep seeing the Trump folks saying the campaign violation is not a “ criminal “ offense. Why do you keep saying that? I see that is is usually dealt with administratively and with fines, but I cannot find anywhere that says CFV are not criminal. And if not not a criminal violation.. what kind of violation would it be? -

NFL Sunday Ticket without DirecTV
plenzmd1 replied to Richmond_Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I use a Rirstick and Roku to access my Sunday Ticket account. Hers the deal. DTV will allow one remote login to watch games. So you can watch the Bills game in your living room via the dish, your Pops can watch in his living room via the Ticket streaming on a Firestick/Roku. Now, if someone else tries to login on another device, thats will not work. So its one login at home at one via stream anyhwere. Hope that helps you aint getting the Ticket without DTV...just aint happening. -
hmm, the details said you have to have a minimum $55 dollar DTV Now bill, excluding premium and subscription services. That seems way high. I have Sling at my place in DC and pay $30 a month, and that includes $5 a month for a DVR.

Would love to get your takes today as you travel in the daylight later today. My guess is just endless corn till nightime, but i could be wrong. Any plans in Chicago?

Hard Knocks 2018: The Cleveland Browns
plenzmd1 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The thing I take away from this show is how cussing causes you to lose your message quick. Now, maybe that same level of cussing goes on in the Bills coaching ranks too, I dont know. Byt damn does it make those coaches sound dumb -
Louis loves him some McD

@Foxx , you should be pulling into Bryan soon..no updates? Think we need to turn this into a travelogue...i would love to read it.

I agree 4mer, he got elected because of his "outsider" status. And his campaign was brilliant, no denying that. I too agree with probably a majority of his policies..including much of what he wants to do on immigration, although not all. I just cannot understand that we have a society have gotten to the point that we expect our President to not be a man of integrity..how we should not strive for that. Maybe I am too Mr Smith, maybe I have a different idea of integrity...but I think his ardent supporters are just so sick of the other party they blind themselves to his actions. Crimminy, we are on a board here that brands the Pats as scums and cheaters because they deflated some balls and taped signs, yet defend someone who lies as a matter of course.

if Obama did it, would you just say "every politician lies, let it slide" I know I sure as chit would not. Its why I did not vote for Clinton (either one) or Obama.... the way the law is written in regards to campaign finance, it is. I think that's pretty clear by Cohen agreeing to go to jail for 3-5 years..one does not do that when one does not commit a crime. If you and I do it..no. When a candidate does it to influence an election ..yes. You may not like or agree with the law, but its the law. I don't agree with not being able to drink a beer in the car..makes no sense to me and it really eludes common sense...but if I get caught with a beer in the car its a crime..plain and simple.

You call me confused..and silly cause I do not want Donald Trump being the leader of out country..maybre so. But almost every single answer and post from a Trump supporter in this thread basically says "does not matter what Trump does, how he achieves his objectives...we hated Obama and Clinton and really any politician is scum so whatever he says, whatever he does, whoever he surrounds himself with for council...none of it matters cause Obama and Clinton were bad too" That is such basic and rudimentary thinking... I know I am, but so are you! And in terms of my kids being able to look up and admire the President of the United States..is that really something that we as a society now claim is foolish? Have you sunken that far that all forms of a civil society, of being honest and truthful, of having integrity..it is all BS? Maybe you believe that is a goal worth aspiring too.I would hope we can do better. I guess that is all I am saying. If anyone was in office, from any party, doing and saying the things Trump does..it would bother the hell out of me..and I want better. Clinton hit on and used his influence to have sex with a 22-year woman( not a crime)..and lying about it and covering it up...and was impeached for obstruction and perjury. If the House would like to use the same standard with Trump...that is perjury and obstruction should lead to an impeachment hearing..I am all for it!

total BS...i agree about the swamp in terms of people so dug in they can't see the forest for the trees. But I don't think the majority of folks, on either side, are bad people who incessantly lie.. I just don't buy it. I also did not buy Hilary was a good person..and i agree its why we ended up with Trump. But to just dismiss the people he has surrounded himself with and his incessant lies is the exact opposite of what I think our country needs in leadersghip...examples and role models. You have kids? Will you teach them the truth is not the truth?

did I say anything about racist and misogynist?.I said a liar...and I think you would have a hard time saying the boy does not a have a very distant relationship with the truth. Again, you point to the fact he gets results..I agree, he knows how to use the bankruptcy court and the credit markets much better than common folks like us, and lets not even get into what he did to the poor folks enrolled in his university..very profitable for him!!!... As mentioned..I value character and values over results ar all costs. Its what I have hoped I have imparted on my kids...as it sounds like you have. I just don't see Trump as the beacon of hope in that regards!

that's the best ya got to defend ya boy? That he was not named? I don't think this hurts Trump BTW, his base will never care about this kind of stuff. Amazing how Cohen is now a schmuck after working for Trump for so long but that's another story. Hers the bottom line for me..Trump folks say the end supports the mean at all costs.. i do not subscribe to that theory. I believe truthfulness and character matters above all else, as I try to teach my kids...i wonder if you all teach your kids to be "like Trump" and that the outcome is more important than how that outcome was achieved?
