Joe Benigno Moving to Day time at Fan
Risin replied to millbank's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Happy overnight everybody... Listened from Buffalo for quite a few years in the late 90's while I baked donuts. -
Have to give some credit to Drew here too. I hate having him as my starting QB, but you can't deny he has clearly improved in this area. He is no longer a statue, that slide step (and spin move) have bought him some serious time. The O-line is playing better, but he's made it look better at times too. If this guy can just not make killer mistakes, we have a shot at the playoffs.

I don't mean to interrupt a great debate, but there is one thing I want to add. I can see both sides of the argument, and have no real opinion on which is tougher to play. Traditionally, the right side of the formation, is by default, considered the strong side. (ie: TE will line up there more times then not.) That in itself will cause the LT to be on an island more often. (ie: Max protect situations, etc.) Also, typically the D's best pass rusher lines up on the QB's blind side, if that's the case, it would logically make the LT's job more difficult then the RT's job. I'm not an expert, just someone who is a student of the game. Please continue, this is a good debate.

McGahee 3-0....Henry 0-5...
Risin replied to CoachChuckDickerson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are a perfect example of who I was referring to. Now to answer your question, quite a few times. He hung in there and got rid of the ball, instead of dropping into the fetal position. Also, with the exception of one first round pick, Indy's line is made up of later draft picks, and undrafted free agents. So does the o-line make the QB, or vice versa? Now go on boy, you're lesson is done for the day. -

I think Drew looked good yesterday, but you are showing a lack of football knowledge. (Is a common theme among Bledsoe apologists) Did you watch the Green Bay/Indy game earlier this season? Did you 20 something consecutive passes my Manning? Did you see Green Bay try to blitz almost every down of that first quarter? How many yards and TD's did Manning throw in the first quarter alone? You're right, you could never compare the two, even with all things being equal. -
How about the play with the Abraham pummeling
Risin replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What pissed me off is the two Bills standing there watching. Finally, Willis pulled him off... -
We disagree, did I miss anything? I don't mind responses, but a bird flip is a shortcut to thinking... People must have me confused with a Bledsoe basher, I'm not. I have never once called for Matthews, I'm just waiting for JP. If Drew can get on a roll and win these next two I'll be calling for the playoffs, with Drew at QB.
-
People still dont get it. This team is horrible.
Risin replied to ICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I said similar things, and I had the bird flipped at me...look out! -
I was there, and couldn't have painted a better picture.

or the latter could ignore the post...

Because for 2 seasons now I have gotten excited about these types of wins, only to watch my QB piss away games, by himself, that meant anything. This is his history, if he could have played mistake free last week, against a team on the road, we're talking about being .500 after beating the Jets next week. Instead, we're hoping we finish well enough to not hand Dallas a top 5 pick.
-
Actually, I'm a season ticket holder... I'm excited about all the same things he is... My original point was I'm not going to get excited about beating up the Nancy Drew's of the league. When the season started, did you think we had any chance of losing this game?
-
Yep, until they needed their QB to make a play...
-
I'm sorry I'm not soiling my shorts over beating the Cards at home. Sorry for stating the facts also. In the end, some of you guys are showing your true class (Fezmid). Get a life...
-
please. Been down this road before, only to get kicked in the nuts on the road against a winning team.
-
Get a clue bro. That was obviously a joke. How about the poor girl he stage dove on and busted up? Ya think her family thought he was a great guy after that? Mo Lewis was the Pats MVP that season, ask any Pat fan and they'll tell you.
-
Can the players even take a piss on this team without the front office knowing, or trying to put a spin on it?
-
We didn't become winners until Kelly stopped pointing fingers... As far as Drew, he didn't sound like he was pointing fingers in order to wake his teammates up. He sounded like he was defending himself for being a bad QB. Let's face it, the national media is calling him out now, he knows the end is near. In the last couple days, Tom Jackson, Lenny P and Jim Rome have all said he was done or close. That has to be sobering, considering it's not just Sully now.
-
I heard that interview, and for the first time I felt sorry for the guy. He sounded like a little kid making excuses. I also loved when he came out and said I'm doing the best I can for what I have to work with. Not that he has a great team, but most QB's w/ a 2 time 1400 yard rusher, a stud like Moulds at WR are decent QB's. San Diego has a terrible O-Line, stud RB, and average WR's. Drew Brees looks OK this year, doesn't he?
-
hehe, no problem dood. I hate Joe ThEEsman, but he makes some valid points. Like others, I think blaming Drew is a shortcut to thinking, but for what he makes he should be a bigger part of the solution then the problem. For the last 2 seasons, I don't think it's been that way. Just my humble opinion, by no means am I an "expert."
-
I'm sure I'll get a bunch of Theisman's a moron replies, but he is a so called "expert." This is from ESPN Insider... "Which is a bigger problem -- coach Mike Mularkey's play calling or Drew Bledsoe? It's hard to say. Bledsoe struggled last year and he's struggling this year so the fault is probably his and not the new coaching staff. The problem is the Bills have nowhere to turn to replace Bledsoe. They lost rookie QB J.P. Losman during the preseason and only have Shane Matthews to rely on in a pinch. Bledose's ineffective, but the Bills have no other options. Bledsoe, Kurt Warner and Vinny Testaverde are all the same guy. They aren't mobile and rely heavily on the protection of the offensive line to help them win games. None of these guys have the ability to lead a team without great protection or schemes that will get the ball out of their hands quickly. Opposing defenses realize this and will just keep bringing pressure to disrupt their process and force them into making mistakes. That's what the Bills are currently facing. It's impossible for an NFL team to give up opportunities to score on a consistent basis due to turnovers and expect to win. Bledsoe has thrown seven interceptions compared to six touchdowns while amassing a quarterback rating of only 73.6. He's also only completing 57.2 percent of his passes, which ranks him 23rd out of 33 eligible quarterbacks in the league. Those are terrible numbers and a main reason why the Bills only have one victory this season."

Weird... When I was 8, we moved to Federal Way, Washington. By the time I was 10, we were back in Buffalo. Man, I miss Washington... -
Does anyone know where Drew Bledsoe Lives?
Risin replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice post...Oh wait, that makes me a moron too. -
Elway was a hair away from being benched his rookie year, good thing they stuck with him, eh?
