Regardless, do you think Chan is benching Trent because receivers are blanketed? Think about that, and tell me if a fan in the stands knows more than the head coach. It's his offense, he knows who the ball should go to, when it should be delivered and if the QB did good or bad on any given play. (It's called grading a player) I will take Chan's word for it, thanks.

This is Trent's year, we HAVE to see what he has, with a competent coach. One thing we all should agree on is that Chan can make chicken salad out of chicken BLEEP, when it comes to the QB position. (Jay Fiedler, Kordell Stewart and Tyler Thigpen off the top of my head) Where them 3 differ from Trent, is that they're not made out of china. Worst case scenario for Bills fans, Trent looks solid, but misses 4+ games to injury. At what point do we agree, but more importantly the coaches/front office agree, that this guy can't be a starter because he can't stay healthy? He has been injured almost every season (even in high school) and you can cry all you want about Stanford's O-line, but his backups never had a problem staying healthy while Trent was nursing an injury. In my opinion, the QB to lead us to the playoffs is still in college or on another NFL roster, at the moment. I think Trent is a good backup, but below average starter in this league. He is the best we have by a mile, excluding Levi Brown's potential, because he is an unknown. ( altho history says most 7th rounders won't be elite QB's ) I'm no scout/coach/GM, and there has to be a reason we didn't try and upgrade at QB this season. That tells me that they think Trent can be a solid starter in this league, and they are going to give him every chance. The key to Trent's success is staying healthy, and playing the position at a relatively high level. We've seen him do it, but the key to being a good NFL QB is doing it consistently, and that we haven't seen from him. For now we can blame the dysfunction of the past regime, but Trent really needs to pickup his level of play this season.

DJ shoulda been fired in December/January. Hopefully it will be our Xmas (or Halloween or Thanksgiving) present this year. But this game wasn't directly his fault, it is a symptom like tgreg says though.

Pats had Saftey(ies) over top most of game. He had a play where Jaws said they were finally one on one, and he didn't take his shot and Jaws called him on it.

He did on that crossing route to TO on third down. (talking about stepping up in pocket) Needs to keep it up...

That last drive sucked, and he would have really raised a lot of eyebrows if he would have brought us back, but he still played a great game regardless. It's a step in the right direction, just need him to stay healthy.

I agree McStupid killed us, but Bell killed multiple drives with penalties and sacks. We might have hung 24+ on them by halftime if Bell didn't keep killing us. Not to mention big third down drops by TO and Evans in the first half. Three positives to take out of this game, although it hurt bad. 1) Fred Jackson is a !@#$ing stud, and could probably start in this league. 2) Trent Edwards looked solid, although them sacks on the last drive hurt bad. 3) AVmfP ... 'nuf said

Fire whoever decided Bell was ready. Not the kids fault, but he is as responsible as McKelvin for this loss.

Trent was average in college, what made anyone think he was more than a backup in the NFL? I know he was on a bad Stanford team, but his backups stayed healthy and performed close to his level. For those that listened to Bill Walsh, I hope you realize he also worried Trent had limited potential. If you notice, he is no better now, then he was his first season. He has reached his ceiling and is a career backup. I question his mental toughness, physical toughness and arm strength. Those are a lot of worries to have about your franchise QB, which is why I never thought he would amount to much. The QB who will lead us to the playoffs isn't on the roster yet. Hell, I don't even know if he's been born yet. This team needs changes from the top down. They need a real GM, who will hire a competent head coach. Trent and Dick seem like nice guys, I just don't want either with such important roles on my favorite football team.

This team won't do schitt until Dick is gone, and they find a true #1 QB. Trent will end up being a very good #2, but this guy is not close to a franchise QB.

Poz is very overrated by many Bills fans, and an average MLB on a good day. The more pathetic thing (if true), was Marv stating after the draft that they had Poz rated higher than Willis on their board. I tend to think this was typical PR spin, and god I hope I am right for once.
