  1. Yeah completely comparable situations. One is vilified by the media, for anything under the sun, but is otherwise a guy who stays out of trouble, and doesn't run illegal operations, and didn't serve time in jail. Statistically one of the best player at his position for years. The other was beloved by the media for unknown reasons, did run an illegal operation, and served time in jail. Statistically one of the worst players at his position since he came into the league.
  2. honestly I dont think some of these guys could get to a qb if they had a fathead of one posted up in their living rooms.
  3. I'm begining to think people are actually under valuing sacks. Just because our pass rush is led by The Upstate Sad Sack bunch, it's still one of if not the most important aspect to defensive football. Put a team in deep down and distances, force hurried throws leading to turnovers, or force fumbles. It's been frustrating to watch this group for several years even when they were considered "good" by some people. The constant completions on 3rd down the never ending long drives given up by this defense were horrible to watch. We had what I'd consider boring defense. We couldnt rush the quarterback if kawika mitchell was given a free lane, and a statue was standing back there. He'd probably find a way to whiff. I dred the thought of schobel not being up to form, and having to go through another year of kelsay/denney. The reluctance to try to find talent for the front 7 is madding. Playoff, or superbowl caliber teams consistently add to their front 7's. The Bills draft cornerbacks. It just doesn't make sense
  4. The pats get pass rushers the bills develop cornerbacks. One team wins superbowls, the other dwells in the foils of mediocrity.
  5. I like the fact they drafted Maybin, but that was literally the only move to address the weakest area of our defense in the front 7. He's 20 years old, extremely raw and will probably be 2-3 years before he becomes the impact player we need at the position. More should've been done to add to the depth of this group. It seems foolish to rely on Maybin and Chris Ellis to mature, and 3 30+ year old dends only 1 of whom is actually any good.
  6. The only rap albums to look forward to are Red and Meth "Blackout 2" and Lupe Fiasco "Lasers" other than that it just isn't worth it anymore. This whole never ending bling bling era killed rap.
  7. Vince Hall was a pretty good lb at VA Tech. I thought he would make some team last year even though he went undrafted
  8. Game changer?... no best option available to us?.... pretty much. He's better than june, keiaho as well. The only option that would've been better was a healthy Angelo Crowell.
  9. By the time Jauron got here in 2006 Pat Williams was long gone. Fat Pat's last year in Buffalo was 2004. It's quite the stretch to say that was of Jaurons doing. That falls squarely on the shoulders of Tom Donahoe/Mularkey and Ralph Wilson. It was the dumbest move of this past decade. I dunno what happened to Jauron, but how you forget the only time you've been succesful as a head coach is when you had guys like Ted Washington and Keith Traylor escapes all logic. As far as Pisa goes yeah he'd be playing with different responsibilities, but if the choices are him or watching another year of Keith Ellison. I'd rather go with the unknown quantity.
  10. Trent Dilfer could only dream about the statistical season Rivers just had. Phillip Rivers is quickly establishing himself as one of the best qb's in the league, and a leader for his football team. Trent Dilfer never hit 3000 yards and only threw for 20 tds twice in his career. Rivers has hit 3k+ 3 years in a row with 22,21 and 34 tds respectively. Now compare Rivers to Drew Brees this past season. Phillip Rivers and Drew Brees had the same # of tds. Except Rivers did it in 158 less pass attempts than it took Brees. I don't see why people like to rag Rivers the guy is a fantastic quarterback and fun to watch. I hope we eventually have a qb who can be that good.
  11. You realize rookie d-ends take time right? Even arguably the best defensive end in the league Justin Tuck had 1 sack in his first 20 games. It took Strahan until his 5th year in the nfl to break the double digit sack barrier, accumlating just 18 sacks in his first 70 games. It's the rare dend that tunes up sacks right out of the gate. Ellis like most college dends came in undersized and not strong at the point of attack. He was a good college player who has nfl potential, whether or not he realizes that is on him. It's far to early to throw him under the bus. I hope you're not unrealistic when it comes to aaron maybin odds are its gonna be 2-3 years before he starts to do anything.
  12. this is the bills we're talking about, so it's quite possible they think that way. The sad part of it is. Neither digorgio nor poz are good in coverage, and nothing was done to address the need for lbs. The front 7 is still the biggest hole on this team. From the dts/ends and lb's all of it could use upgrades and depth yet.
  13. Go back and watch last season as miami/nyj/pats all had 90 yard 8 minute drives that completely killed any chance of us winning games against them. Good defenses don't do that. This was not and is questionable if it is yet a good defense. More should've been done to address the front 7. Aaron Maybin is extremely raw, and while I appreciate the Bills trying to address the need for a defensive end, the fact is they're relying on this same group of sad sacks, and a very thin dt rotation devoid of premiere talent. Our corners are the only above average group on the defense, and our safeties are ok, with no play making ability. This is still the same defense that gave up 50+ pts to the patriots. The same group that gave up long time consuming drives, and owned by Tyler Thigpen and a Herm Edwards offense.
  14. Brian Leonard has been rather sh-------, and there were rumors floating he was going to be a possible cut by the rams anyway.
  15. Neither The Bills nor Dick Jauron have made the postseason since Ted Washington last played for them. That's why I'm getting an early start on the Terrence "Mount" Cody 2 Buffalo campaign for 2010.
  16. Fred Taylor the pillar of health. Not exactly the best example of what "could've been"
  17. So what is he like a bad gift to football? Is that why he's called bad santa? No understanding of the game, and ya don't want him on the team? God just like the bills to get another crappy offensive linemen, so typical!
  18. As of right now I'd say he has the best chance to make the team, as a fb. A Very very good blocker
  19. Next years draft is stacked with premiere defensive talent now armed with 2 2nd rd picks next year. I fully expect ne will go full throttle looking to trade up for someone like Taylor Mays or heaven forbid Carlos Dunlap. I know they have wilfork and now Ron Brace, but there's also the Man Mountain Cody coming out next year as well
  20. Chris Kelsay is not a run stopper. Infact he's quite terrible at that. He makes a habit of getting being out of position on off tackle runs, and is weak at the point. He's also not a pass rusher, and should be replaced in the lineup. Denney is better against the run, and that's not really saying much
  21. With Schobel Denney and Kelsay all that 30+ years of age it's time to start looking to the future. We flat out need more speed off the edge, and while maybin is a nice start, sidbury would bolster our pass rush potential even more. A team as lousy with outside pressure as the Bills can't afford to sit on their hands patting themselves on the back over 1 guy, who odds are wont have a chance to start till the 2010 season.
  22. Im hoping Lawrence Sidbury Jr stock up on pass rushers
  23. Henderson is likely just a pipe dream. We do however need an olb, and a dt prospect we can throw into the rotation with potential to start down the line.
