Nice Article on "The Biscuit" on NFL.com
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to ganesh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whats the deal with the picture of him as a colt but good article glad to see the biscuit is doing well -
he's a top 5 corner but I believe we'll be fine without him. Im not as high as some people on this board about terrence mcgee at least as a corner, but Ohio State has had some very good/great db's come into the nfl and I believe youboty will follow in those footsteps and we have reasonable depth behind that where is youboty develops like I think he will in the mold of Chris Gamble I think we'll be fine at corner. Id love to keep Nate, all the guy does is make plays evidence by his 20 ints and 11 forced fumbles and 6 tds 4 on ints and 2 punt returns. in his 5 seasons here btw thats more turnover causing plays then corners in the same span such as Patrick Surtain, Ty Law, Champ Bailey, charles woodson, al harris, chris mcallister, samari rolle, brian kelly, ronde barber, antoine winfield etc etc etc. Now I dont think Youboty or Mcgee will be able to much that production, but if we improve the dline we'll be fine without clements but our secondary wont improve without him.

Who will you take with your 1st pick?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in Fantasy Football
The way I look at it. The safer way to draft is to take your rb's and wr's first all qb's generaly tend to group together unless you're taking a fantasy machine like manning, otherwise yes it's better to take rb's with your 1st 2 picks. -
Finally Ty Law out of the AFC East

Im not counting my chickens until they hatch.... Chiefs | Team close to deal with Law Sun, 23 Jul 2006 13:17:12 -0700 Nick Cafardo, of the Boston Globe, reports the Kansas City Chiefs are close to a deal with free agent CB Ty Law (Jets). The five-year deal is believed to be worth more than $30 million. According to an NFL source, the New England Patriots will have one final chance to match or exceed the Chiefs' offer. The Patriots extended an offer to Law, but at a level below what the Chiefs offered. but yeah many years too late, but like they say better late then never -
QB Overall Position rating- 3 The Buffalo Bills have been not so patiently waiting for the heir to Jim Kellys' throne that has now been vacated for 10 long and grueling seasons. After recycling through quaterbacks such as Alex Van Pelt, Rob Johnson, Todd Collins, Doug Flutie and Drew Bledsoe former bills general Manager Tom Donahoe, decided it would be prudent to make a trade for a cocky, athleticaly gifted kid out of Tulane. After shipping a 2nd and 5th rd pick in the 03 draft and 04 1st rd pick to Dallas The bills took JP Losman 23rd overall in the 03 draft their 2nd 1st rd pick of that draft. Losmans inital rookie season was cut short due to an injury in camp at the hands of starting fs troy vincent. Fans were filled with hope of Losmans progress with feel good stories about how Sam Wyche and Losman were joined at the hip. It was good to hear how losman was picking up the offense, basicaly seeing it unfold on the field and hours of studying tape, but as the 05 season rolled around it became evident that studying tape and watching games, can't be a reliable substitute for actual playing time. After parting ways with Veteran Signal caller Drew Bledsoe, Losman was esentialy handed the job. He performed quite admirably in his 1st game against the texans going 17/28 for 170 yards and a td, filling Bills fans with hopes of playoffs and shiny things. However as the season progressed Losman was plagued with bouts of inconsistent play and poor decision making and was replaced by Kelly Holcomb. Holcomb while a very efficent quaterback lacked the arm strength to move the ball down the field quickly resulting in having to substain drives for 8-12 plays at a time, something you just cant do in todays nfl. While he's a guy known for the occasional monster game, he's never been a full season starter in his career, and his best work usualy comes in spot starts. Fast foward to 2006.... Mike Mularkey, Tom Donahoe, Tom Clements and Sam Wyche are gone. Dick Jauron, Marv Levy, Steve Fairchild are in. Jauron has promised a wide open qb competition. Probably to quell the emotions of bills veterans who were disheartened with the brash kid from Tulane being given the job. Former Green Bay backup Craig Nall was brought in to compete with Losman and Holcomb for the right to be the Bills starting qb for 06 and maybe the foreseeable future. Will Craig Nall follow in the footsteps of former Greenbay backups such as Aaron Brooks, Jake Delhomme, Mark Brunell and Matt Hasselbeck. My personal hope is that Losman shows the new coaching staff enough progress from previous season to show he's the man for the job after all, vindicating the amount of draft picks we used to acquire him. He has a good amount of talent, all we can realy hope for is that it clicks upstairs for him. However it can't be ruled out that the Defensive coach will play it "safe" and go with the old reliable veteran Kelly Holcomb. It should be an interesting training camp to say the least...

In all fairness police said he used his gun legally. If I was just hanging out in my backyard and someone shot my friend in the butt or just shot into my yard period and I had a gun on me I'd probably do the same thing meriweather did. Now with that said I dont walk around with guns in my pocket, but I can understand the situation. -

REGGIE BUSH CONTEMPLATING SITTING OUT
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to MartyBall4Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yeah and kind of make sense why the saints haven't gone ahead and traded michael bennet yet either. This is a really low brow move by the bush camp. All that talent and no heart for the game. -
No. 2 overall pick and Heisman Trophy-winning running back Reggie Bush not only appears headed for a holdout with the New Orleans Saints, a league source said Bush is toying with the idea of sitting out the entire season and going back in the draft in 2007 if he doesn't get his price. "No player has ever had the kind of leverage that Reggie Bush has right now," the source said. "The Saints made it clear what they were willing to do before and now we'll see if they're going to get there." It seems unlikely the Saints will do that in time for Bush to report to training camp with the team on Thursday in Jackson, Miss. Two sources said that talks between the Saints and agent Joel Segal have been nearly non-existent. On Wednesday, Mike Ornstein, who is Bush's marketing agent, told the Clarion-Ledger of Jackson, Miss., that he didn't think Bush would be signed in time for camp. Ornstein is not allowed to negotiate contracts, but he is acutely aware of all of Bush's business matters. One of the sources took that a step further, saying Segal was considering not having Bush sign at all. Segal declined to comment when contacted Friday and messages left with multiple members of the New Orleans organization weren't returned. While it appears unlikely on face value that Bush would sit out, he appears well-positioned to do so if he really wants. Bush supposedly has more than $5 million in the bank from multiple endorsement deals Ornstein has negotiated since Bush left the University of Southern California. That money is guaranteed regardless of whether Bush plays this season. Next, Bush could probably sit out 2006 and still be a high pick next year. Furthermore, Bush probably has the public sentiment running in his favor. Even though holdout players are generally unpopular, Bush has caused tremendous excitement in New Orleans. In May, shortly after Bush was drafted, the Saints had already set a franchise record for season-ticket sales, having topped 55,000 at that time. That's extraordinary, especially considering the condition of the hurricane-ravaged city. Moreover, team owner Tom Benson is immensely unpopular in New Orleans. Ranging from his hard-line negotiations with the city and state to constant threats that he will move the team, Benson is often treated with open scorn by Saints fans. Bush has also worked hard to endear himself to fans in the city after it came out that he didn't want to play in New Orleans. Bush has made multiple donations to hurricane relief. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=jc-b...=yhoo&type=lgns

I dont see a problem with this considering they ran down each section of the team. Running Backs Willis McGahee's 2005 season went in the tank the moment he proclaimed himself the NFL's best back. After failing to gain 100 yards or to score a touchdown in seven of Buffalo's last eight games, he promises to just shut up and play this season. When he's focused, the powerful 228-pound McGahee is Buffalo's best player and in his defense, he was a victim of Buffalo's dysfunctional coaching staff last year. In three games down the stretch, he had 10 carries or less. But unless Buffalo can improve its line play and its 29th-ranked passing game, both big ifs, opponents will continue to stack the box against McGahee. that last part imo is the main reason mcgahee strugled. Whoever the qb is has to make plays to open things up

I could be wrong but if memory serves me correct Alan Faneca wasn't too happy about Ben Roethlisberger starting as a rookie, the only difference being Roethlisberger did what was asked made few mistakes and won games, where as Losman was eratic, the team was bad and it spiraled downward. -
They really could do so much more with nfl network. Dig into the nfl films vault for instance have more shows with analysts breaking down teams, but to be fair other then butch davis, sterling sharpe and matt mayock they lack quality analysts. Darrin Horton is horrible. NFL Total access is really a waste of time, and between the repeats of in their own words/ 2003 NE PATRIOTS/IN THEIR OWN WORDS TOM BRADY. In their own words Emmitt Smith. or the 60 thousand times I've now seen NE/CAROLINA superbowl etc etc nfl network really falls flat on its face.

Bought a Jersey Lately?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to HereComesTheReignAgain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When buying authentic jerseys I tend to only get players who've been good for a long time or of older/retired players like TT, Bruce, Reed Everytime I buy a replica either that player leaves or gets injured like price/bledsoe/moulds/spikes/milloy or has a sub par year like willis. So this year I promised not to buy any jerseys -

Terrell Owens book out " TO"
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to millbank's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
uh huh skill player stats philly 2004 playoffs Donovan McNabb 2004 min W,27-14 | 21 33 286 2 0 | 3 3 0 2004 atl W,27-10 | 17 26 180 2 0 | 10 32 0 *2004 nwe L,21-24 | 30 51 357 3 3 | 1 0 0 ok sure did pass a lot more but this I gotta throw on Andy Reid owens is just getting back from a bad injury why put the ball up that much more compared to the other 2 playoff games? Your priority as a head coach should be to win the big game not to please a wr Brian Westbrook 2004 min W,27-14 | 12 70 0 | 5 47 1 2004 atl W,27-10 | 16 96 0 | 5 39 0 *2004 nwe L,21-24 | 15 44 0 | 7 60 1 Seems pretty consistent throughout the playoffs. However Brian Westbrook will never be confused with a 25-30 carry a down back. He's a nice option of the backfield great 3rd down back type, but he's far from a franchise rb, but I see no incidence here of Owens causing lack of touches compared to the other 2 games for westbrook. todd pinkston 2004 min W,27-14 | 0 0 0 | 3 46 0 2004 atl W,27-10 | 0 0 0 | 1 13 0 *2004 nwe L,21-24 | 0 0 0 | 4 82 0 I guess Owens caused todd pinkston to get the ball more during the superbowl? Yup I'd call that cutting into others production Freddie Mitchell 2004 min W,27-14 | 0 0 0 | 5 65 1 2004 atl W,27-10 | 0 0 0 | 2 20 0 *2004 nwe L,21-24 | 0 0 0 | 1 11 0 lmao cmon Greg Lewis 2004 min W,27-14 | 0 0 0 | 2 64 0 2004 atl W,27-10 | 1 10 0 | 2 65 0 *2004 nwe L,21-24 | 0 0 0 | 4 53 1 Cut into Greg Lewis's production alright..... that he had a td in the superbowl and matching the amount of catches he had in the previous 2 playoff games.... Chad Lewis 2004 atl W,27-10 | 4 20 2 only playoff game he had production in Maybe he cut into LJ Smiths production? 2004 min W,27-14 | 4 52 0 2004 atl W,27-10 | 1 21 0 *2004 nwe L,21-24 | 4 27 1 hardly. Although I think if anything with McNabb attempting so many passes in the superbowl he probably should've thrown more to LJ Smith. Ne's lb's aren't fast and they generaly seem to have problems with good te's. To get away with the lack of a running game especially in a big game situation short passes must be used with more frequency. Mike Bartrum and Billy McMullen have no post season data. I dont know where you get this. Without owens they spread the ball around. No ones production was cut into come the superbowl the only thing that happened is they seemed to have more offensive plays in the superbowl then their previous 2 playoff games. They also faced an entirely different offense in ne then the vikings and atlanta and their defensive performance shows that. Culpepper was a toss and chuck qb so they just had to keep moss out of the game which they did. Against Atlanta all they had to do was contain vick from running cause no way was vick going to beat anyone passing and they did that and in the process derrick burgess earned himself a free agent contract. Brady meanwhile unlike culpepper and vick could just pick you apart and boy did he with a near flawless performance. I get it if you dont like owens but he was hardly the reason the eagles lost the superbowl infact if he didnt play they probably wouldn't have even be in the game. It would make more sense to blame Andy Reid for chucking it up so much
