I originally thought we were thinking that way, but now I think Beane will do whatever it takes to get the QB they want now and then deal with filling the other holes over the next season or two. That may not be ideal for this seasons results, but it will hopefully pay off in the long run, especially if the Pats* start losing their stronghold on the division.

I’d rather overpay for a free agent, who will hopefully live up to the contract and be an impact player, than burn draft picks on a trade. I am happy we got him.

I do not want us to move up to get "whichever of the top 4-5 QB's is left". Hopefully the Bills do their research on all of the QB's in this draft, choose the ONE that is the best choice for this franchise and then do whatever is necessary to go and get him. You can't just go get one of them and assume he will be great. You have to know in advance which one you want and get THAT guy.

I would be 100% amazed if White went in the first round. NO WAY he is taken with pick #22.

Calvin Ridley. There are better value WR’s available in rounds 2-3 that I think will have more success that Ridley. (i.e. Chark.) I have a feeling Ridley will take awhile to reach his potential, if ever...

Sorry, I disagree. You can't just draft a guy cause he is available at your pick, you have to evaluate them all, decide which one or ones you believe are potential franchise QB's and do whatever you can to draft him. But if the one (s) you want are gone, you can't just take the next guy on the list because "experts" said it's a good QB draft class. Choosing the wrong guy can hold a franchise back for years. Remember, JP Losman was also a first round pick that year.

I agree with this completely. If we don’t, someone like the Cardinals will try to get ahead of us.

I believe he was referring to you feeling your take was important enough to merit its own thread versus adding it to any of the other Lamar Jackson threads currently on the first page. that being said, by saying he is “feeding the smokescreen” are you implying he is really going to go high in the draft and he is just helping teams pretend they don’t want him?

We don’t need A quarterback, we need the right quarterback. I don’t want them to take a QB just because one is there. If they see a potential franchise QB in this draft then they will likely have to trade up to get him and I hope they do if it’s not too costly. Don’t take a QB just to say you did. And if you can't get the QB you want in round 1, start building the team around McCarron/Peterman and a round 2 or 3 QB if there is one that might fit.
