Guess what, the Patriots aren't afraid of the Bills either. I just don't get these dumping on the Pats posts. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick have owned the Bills for a long long time now. There's no reasonable explaination of how and why they would faulter at home against the Bills in week one. This Bills team will have to "learn" how to win. There are just too many different moving parts going in, such as new starters and new coaches, to expect anything but a loss at Foxboro. I'm thinking this team will have a rough start, but come together by mid-season to raise some eyebrows. I think their first win will come in week 3, but I'll give you serious props if the Bills pull off the monumental upset.

Bills will beat NE in week 1
1billsfan replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If message boards were around during the Jim Kelly years there's no doubt somewhere some Jet, Pat or Dolphin fan would have been telling their fellow fan brethren just how and why their team would beat the Bills on the road. Sorry, but this is what this post most reminded me of. Could it happen? Sure. But the unbridled optimism seems very silly to me. -
The More I hear Some Bills Want Holcomb
1billsfan replied to Buffalo Baumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was at that game, and let me tell you...he looked worse in person. I kept waiting for dumbo Malarkey to pull him and put in Losman. I'm so glad we won't have to see that moron calling the shots for the Bills this year. -
The More I hear Some Bills Want Holcomb
1billsfan replied to Buffalo Baumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As I stated in my previous post, there are only a few veterans left on this team. So even if these guys are being squeeky wheels, their noise won't be enough to deter the current Bills youth movement of which Losman is a big part of. BTW, I don't believe his garbage info for a second. I chalk it up to bad second hand crap from a former player like Moulds or Milloy. It certainly couldn't be coming from anyone witnessing the pitiful performances Holcomb has been having this preseason. -
The More I hear Some Bills Want Holcomb
1billsfan replied to Buffalo Baumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I could see a couple of the veterans on defense like Vincent, Spikes and Fletcher going off the record to support Holcomb. But the reason that this shouldn't be a big deal is that the Bills are now a team that's fully entrenched in it's youth movement. Vincent is on his last legs as the starter and Spikes and Fletch are outnumbered by the young players and a new coaching staff who want to incorporate a vertical passing attack to go along with a power running game. I'm so glad that this is the case and that JP can concentrate on getting better and not have to worry about half the team wanting him on the bench. -
Link I know it's only one preseason game. I know even Ryan Leaf sometimes showed flashes of brilliance. But if Cutler turns out to be the next Elway, how will Marv feel about passing him up to take a safety? 743945[/snapback] You've ran out of Bills QBs not named Losman to root for because the all sucked so badly, so now your settting your sights on another team's rookie QB? That's so weak. Put down the sour grapes and start rooting for JP Losman, your starting Bills QB for the next several seasons.

Charlotte Observer beat writer says...
1billsfan replied to Catholic Guilt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably the worst post I've observed in quite some time. Your Nostradamus attempt leaves much to be desired. I just don't get posters like you who think the Bills are one of the worst teams in the league. My advice is to take another look at their roster. The Bills have a very good mix of tough pro bowl veterans and talented young players ready to hit their strides. Add to this mix a coach who isn't the panty waist Malarkey was and you get a team that's on the verge of proving the doubters (like you) wrong. Does this team have a few question marks? Of course they do, so do 31 other NFL teams. They'll take about 6 weeks to gel, but when they do they'll come on strong and make a playoff push. We can revisit this post around week 12 to see who looks better at predicting the 2006 Bills. BTW, I don't need posters like you telling me to have faith when you don't have any faith from the get go. -
It's funny that you mentioned thinking the game is too fast for JP. Yesterday the NFL Sirius radio talk show guys thought that JP was too fast for the game and that he just needs to calm down (something I agree with). Maybe he is making an effort too settle down resulting in the delay of game mistakes. Remember, it was the first preseaon game and the dude did lead us to three scoring drives making positive plays in the process.

A reasonable person wouldn't forget to put the Jets in the "worst" talent list. So I guess that means you're not a reasonable person to enlighten us with where the Bills rank on the list. The Bills have been trashed by all of the so called NFL experts and you seem to have bought into what they were selling you. That's fine. But you'll soon see that the Bills do have enough talent to make a push for the now soft AFC East division title. Your argument that they are void of talent is laughable. They not only have talent but they have a bunch of young talent which is what teams in this league want the most. Hiring Mike Malarkey was TD's biggest mistake and he was the single biggest reason for the horrible 2005 season. Player attitude was the second biggest reason followed by player talent. Jaroun will make Malarkey look like a big cry baby and by far worst Bills coach ever when the season's over. The additions and subtractions of coaches and players this offseason made the Bills a much much better team.

KH is the starting QB of this team
1billsfan replied to bbills17's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're failing to take into account the fact that opposing defenses have already learned that Holcomb doesn't have the arm to beat them deep. Thus they will crowd the line to easily put a halt to our running game. KH will not be more productive in this offense because of his arm. -

Oh yeah that Kelly Holcomb, boy he really gave us an awesome chance to win that last game against the Jets with his four interception day. Kelly Holcomb sucks dude. JP gives us a much better chance to win this season. -
"Pro Football Talk" preseason rankings

Isn't profootballtalk run by a Dolphin fan? Yet we still get links to it. I wouldn't rely on that site for anything credible regarding the Buffalo Bills. -
ESPN ranks Bills Pass Defense 26th in NFL
1billsfan replied to Ramius's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WARNING: Putting any stock whatsoever into ESPN NFL rankings could be harmful to a fan's football knowledge. -
Ranking positions in the NFL 1-32 is like ranking who's the prettiest girl in the Miss USA pageant. There's not that much of a difference in talent from top to bottom. This is the NFL not college football, I even think that the NFL team rankings are also a farce. The NFL is way to unpredictable for this exercise to even hold a small amount of water. There's too many factors that go into an NFL player's and team's successes to be able to accurately rank em 1-32. Looking at our wide reciever corps I see a bunch of fast young players who've shown the ability to catch long touchdown passes. This is a good thing to have in my book. Who's number 1, 2 or 3? Who cares. The Pats won three Superbowls with a "group" of good receivers, not the "pecking order" star system we've had in the past.

Will it piss you off if JP Losman has a break out year in 2006? The 2005 season could then be seen as the growing pain year between Bledsoe and JP. Not so stupid if this is how it all goes down. The Bills will have their QB of the future while Dallas is lamenting the dinosuar QB that keeps getting sacked in critical games and situations.

I must admit it, I hate Kelly Holcomb
1billsfan replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rehashing the Bill's QB play in the 2005 season is a complete waist of time at this point. I think the decision on the starting QB for the Bills all boils down to the offseaon workouts like Dick and Marv said it would. As for Losman, if he can't beat out Kelly Holcomb in this his third year on the team then he's as good as gone after this season. That being said I think Losman wins the starting job easily. I mean really, how hard is it to beat out Kelly Holcomb? Short answer...it shouldn't be. -
Vic Carucci predicts that Nall will end up QB#1
1billsfan replied to mary owen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Predictions are like.... ...and you all know the rest. Hate to tell "Mr. Insider" Vick, but the new regime's best interest is to let the QB competition playout. I know it's a crazy thought but I think they might go ahead and do just that. -
Call for examples of Losman's "attitude"
1billsfan replied to RuntheDamnBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This statement is baseless. Unlike Losman and Holcomb, Nall has never been asked to perform under pressure. BTW, what roster battle or NFL game of meaning has he survived? Winning a third string spot and handling mop-up duty doesn't count as pressure. -

1billsfan replied to RuntheDamnBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bledsoe's passer rating in his first starting season was 65. Losman's passer rating was 64.9. The Bills were supposed to be a "smash mouth" team with a offensive line full of panty waists. When Malarkey started to break out the bag of tricks it was all over and Losman never had a chance. Get off Losman's back and stop pining for a guy in the twilight of his career. BTW, did you know that Losman had 6 pass completions of over 40 yards in his first eight games of starting, Bledsoe had only 5 in the first 12 games he started? Plus Losman has excellent escapability that Bledsoe never had. The book has yet to be written on Losman's career. Bledsoe is on his last chapter, he should call it "Sitting Duck". -
What do you think are chances 4 starting QB?
1billsfan replied to Pyrite Gal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Spot on. The Bills were the worst team in 3rd down defense and second worst team in rushing defense. Pass protection and run blocking were clearly optional. Don't even get me started on that fraud Malarkey. But it was all JPs fault. A lot of players, coaches and the GM chose not to look in the mirror last season. Let's hope this team will play like professionals and not a like bunch of babies this season. -

I didn't write off Nall at all. I do write off any QB rating based on 33 passes though. I'm willing to wait and see what the QBs do in the upcoming competition for the job, are you? -

1billsfan replied to Pyrite Gal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh that's just great...they were building such a solid case for Craig Nall starting and you had to go and screw it up with your stupid facts. Thanks a lot bro. As for your last question, they're upset because they've got weak stomachs which can't handle a QB "growing pains" period lasting more than eight games. If Nall is as great as they think he is then I guess he'll be sending Losman to the bench soon enough. They shouldn't have a care in the world right now. -

1billsfan replied to Pyrite Gal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree. I believe that whichever QB starts on the opening weekend is really going to come down to who's clicking the best with the first team towards the end of the preseason. I don't think money is a factor anymore. -

He has eight games, or we're breaking out the pitchforks and torches.
