  1. First I'm dreaming, then you follow up by saying "Sure, we'll score". So there's no doubt they'll get seven, but scoring another seven after that is suddenly dreamland? I think you need to narrow your scope of what's dreaming and what's realistic.
  2. From Brad Briggs- "...This Sunday's meeting with Buffalo could be difficult as it has the potential to be a classic trap game that teams sometimes fall into when they get too high after a huge victory. But do you really think the Bills are going to come in and score?" Yes I do. Poor Brad, he doesn't realize the Bears are going to finally play a team without a hand tied behind it's back on offense. Oh well, go ahead and mock our team. It will make the touchdown pass to Evans that much sweeter! http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-bear03.article
  3. "...and so are being compared to the '85 Superbowl winners" See what I mean? Da Bears fans all already drinking way too much coolaid if they're comparing this Bear team to the '85 Bears. You guys got off to a great start by having a really good team AND playing some really bad teams and also catching a Seahawk team that was deflated without their MVP runningback. You guys do deserve to be seen as one of the top two or three teams in the league. But don't get too carried away as you seem to be getting. In todays NFL even the best teams have holes and aren't as great or unbeatable as everyone makes them out to be. Your team seems to be weak in the running game and at 3rd down conversions. Also, lets not forget the fact that your QB has as much experiance as JP Losman. The Bears ARE beatable. With all that said, I do think the Bears will win this game because without doubt they are better than the Bills. But it's very plausible that your team will take the Bills lightly and leave the door open for an upset. The Bills do have weapons that can do some damage. BTW, you and the rest of the Bears fans are going overboard with your comparisons to the '85 Bears team. Hey, thanks for stopping by here. Seriously. It's always interesting getting other fans perspective on the game. Good luck on Sunday.
  4. The Bears have already been crowned by the media that they are the best team in the NFL and it's only Monday. This is a great spot to play the Bears because the Bills could easily be catching them at a point when they're feeling oh so great about themselves and see this game as an easy win. It happens all the time. The Bills do have the weapons to score quickly which they'll need to do early in the game. It's a tall tall order but I could see it happen from what I've seen from them in the first four games. Plus, the Bills will have the ultimate motivation of being given the opportunity of taking down the current NFL "King of the Mountain". Could you imagine the tremors that would be set off throughout the league if they pulled it off? Now having said all that, I do expect a Bills loss here but I also won't be knocked out suprised if there was an upset either. I'm just expecting that this won't be a Bills team ready to get pushed around like they would have been last season.
  5. I'm glad somebody had the guts to start this post. After the game on Sunday I was thinking about how Jim Kelly had quite a few "good news/bad news games" his first few years here. You'd be cheering one minute then cursing the next with his having a fumble or an interception. Except for a couple of plain bad tosses, Losman showed some awesome throwing ability in the toughest of Buffalo wind conditions. Another thing, the jury's still out in regards to who got the best QB in the 2004 draft class. Big Ben, Manning and Rivers have yet to prove to me they'll end up being better than JP when their careers are over. Rothlesberger has looked like crap without Jerome Bettis. Manning is way too inconsistent, he's a feast or famine player. Rivers is still an unknown If JP can keep his turnover totals down, then I like his chances to be the best of the four. I don't know much about Rivers, but JP does throw the ball better than Ben or Eli.
  6. ...and Miami game is pretty simple when you think about it. The Bills made the "big plays" and Miami didn't. The Bills won that game. Well the Jets did the same thing to us. The Jets made the "big plays". Gaudy numbers and stats are meaningless in football when compared to coming up with the big plays when it counts. They stopped us on key third and fourth down conversions. They took the ball away when we were in field goal range. They scored on defense. They stopped us on the goal line. The Parrish touchdown and Washington's big catch and run to the three ended up being a wash between both clubs. After that both teams were back on even ground. Then the Jets proceeded to do what we did to the Dolphins the week before. The Bills seemed not focused or not too confident during those "big plays" on Sunday. I don't know why because they were playing the Jets who are no where near being an intimidating force. They sure seemed focused against the Pats and Fish. Maybe it was playing in front of the hometown crowd that made them hesitant when it counted most. I guess I'm concerned that too many here and in the media are looking for the game's scapegoat (see Willis, JP) when both guys had big positive plays that helped to outweigh their big negative plays. I'm hoping the Bills "big play team" that played down in Miami is the one shows up for us against the Vikings.
  7. The Bills need to focus on the things they do well. Making short yardage plays and stopping teams from scoring after they stopped the Bills from making those short yardage plays are two things we now know the Bills aren't any good at. Punting the ball inside the 10 is something the Bills are good at. So yes, yes I would punt the ball hyper boy.
  8. This is two games now that the game momentum has swung wildly against the Bills after "going for it" on 4th down, leading to 2 losses. They have the league's best punter and maybe they should now only try pinning the opposition inside their own 10 yard line. Enough of this macho bs.
  9. There's no way to get pressure on a quarterback that's completing balls in the flats all day day long while the DBs are playing off the WRs like they're scared of getting beat deep. Pennington was throwing the ball 2 to 3 seconds after the ball was snapped. The Bills may have had enough time if they went to a defense that took away the flat passing routes. Why they didn't know that Chad Pennington was going to be throwing short passes today (because he can't throw it beyond twenty yards) is beyond my freakin comprehension. This loss was so avoidable it makes me ill. The Jets stink which makes our team a downright embarassment right now.
  10. ...everytime baby. Fake field goal. Not recognizing blitzing DBs. Fake pitching the ball at 3 and goal at the 1. The defense being befuddled by a one dimensional pop gun offense all day long. Don't bother looking far a scapegoat, everyone on the Bills sideline was at fault today.
  11. ...in his conclusion as to why Miami will beat Buffalo. All I have to say is thanks for the chuckle and for picking against us Peter. Call me crazy, the Bills are now a lock to win. Peter King prediction... Buffalo (0-1) at Miami (0-1) I like the Bills a lot more than I thought I would. But if you think they're going to win at Nick Saban's house, after Saban limp-wristed the replay flag in the fourth quarter during the Pittsburgh loss and after the Dolphins have had three extra days to prepare, you're crazy. Miami 16, Buffalo 14 http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writ...koff/index.html
  12. PFT is run by a Dolphin fan out of Florida. Yet we still see links to and outrages about PFT. Do yourself a favor and don't rely on PFT for Bills information. BTW, why would you need to go there when you have TBD that provides links to credible sports news regarding the Buffalo Bills?
  13. "A lot of players in there are just positive right now." Last season's backstabbers and quiters are gone and they now seem to have players that actually want to play. Moulds, Adams, Milloy, Anderson, Teague, Williams were all dead weight (for differing reasons). Since their departures, so far it seems to have helped turn the team's attitude around. Remember how unispired the Billsd were last season? I get the feeling that won't happen this year. Clements and McGahee had better take notice because they're next if they're not bringing it every Sunday.
  14. It wasn't a jab at the refs, it was meant to be a a jab at the players who commited those penalties. Cut out the dumb mistakes and it increases your chances of getting the "W". Hopefully they'll get that message after watch the tape.
  15. The Miami and Malarkey theory I see Willis as having a banner game (if given the chance) because he's playing in front of his peeps down there in Miami and he's playing against the coach that dogged him in the press and who also didn't believe in his 3rd down abilities. I forsee some big gainers if he has something close to 25 carries. Let's all just hope that nobody is called for blocking in the back this week.
  16. I agree with you. This is from Kirwin's Bio from NFL.COM: Pat Kirwan NFL.com Senior Analyst An experienced coach and NFL front office executive, Pat Kirwan held several positions with the Jets from 1989-97, including defensive assistant coach, assistant pro personnel director and director of player administration. He has managed the salary cap, negotiated player contracts and trades, and evaluated pro and college personnel. ...Prior to joining the Jets, Pat was a scout for the Buccaneers and Cardinals Let's analyze this now...Pat was with the Jets when they sucked, with the Bucs when they sucked and with the Cardinals who have always sucked. Why is this guy qualified to analyze anything regarding the ability of NFL players???? He always sounds like a moron when commenting on players. It always sounds like he's making them from the seat of his pants. That's no doubt why he is an ex-league front office man. Don't even get me started on Jerry Rice's ability to form a sentence. The NFL radio channel is half good and half awful!
  17. I thought it was a great game! I was not shocked the Bills did well because I thought that they do have a fairly good amount of talent and are for the most part under-rated by media and fans alike. I also felt like the Pats were a notch below of what they've been in the past. I'm so glad the nightmare scenario of a blowout didn't occur. The Bills controlled this game for a long time until things just got away from them. The refs only calling one penalty on the Patriots is astonishing. I saw at least two holds on NE linemen. If this game was on the up and up, I think the Bills might have been able to overcome their mistakes (not kicking the fg, stupid blocks in the back, bad tackling, not throwing it deep enough times). This game had everything and the most important thing it had was postive proof the Bills have the ability to hang with the better teams in the league. This is going to be a fun year to watch the Bills.
  18. Let's go Buffalo! Frickin pleeeeeeeease win this game today!!
  19. I completely disagree. You take the ball (definately not handing it over to Tom Brady!) and try to take the fans out of the game by putting a quick seven on the board. We do still have Lee Evans, right? I couldn't disagree more with this strategy.
  20. Yes I know, the Bills are young and still in a rebuilding mode but this doesn't mean that the Bills are doomed this Sunday. I think that these Patriots are not the same unbeatable team of seasons past. Even the four-time AFC champion Bills got too old, took too many shots after so many consecutive years in the playoffs, and had too many player departures to sustain the non-stop good times. I see some similarities to them and this Patriot era heading on a downward slide. I still think that the Patriots are going to win on Sunday, but I also feel that if the Bills players get a whiff that they can win the game there's a good chance they will do so. Just because these are not the same scary Patriots as before and the Bills will be better than they're thinking they are.
  21. Not to worry...I'm sure the other guy who was watching that show considers Glazer a jackass also.
  22. Remember all the yappin' going on at One Bills Drive going into last season? We're all this and we're all that...blah blah blah, blab blab blab. Other than Willis saying he's ready to rock and roll, I haven't heard a peep from the Bills players. Maybe this team will follow Jaroun's low key approach to the game. In football, it's best to just shut up and do your job. I can't wait to see this Bills/Pats game. Unlike playing the Texans last year, this will be a good very good barameter of where we stack up after so many offseaon changes. Just like Willis...I'm ready to rock and roll!
  23. No it's not. The Bill you've mentioned were on teams that crapped the bed over the last few years while the Pat players have been to the playoffs year after year and even won the Superbowl. Are you saying the Pats are over-rated because they've been playing weak schedules and that's how they make it to the playoffs every year? Maybe we should just leave it here because I'm not buying what you're selling at all. It sucks to say, but the Pats will be every bit as good as the Colts, Steelers, Bengals and Broncos...mark it down.
  24. A big reason the Bills were able to stay in that game had a lot to do with the fact that Richard Seymour and Rodney Harrison weren't playing that day and they had a lot of injuries on their offensive line. They'll all be be back week 1 in Foxboro. How about the guys they lost? Who cares. Every team in the NFL lose key players year after year. Plus the Pats are the one team that has made it's mark, and winning 3 Superbowls in the process, with replacing players without missing a beat. They may not have Vinitieri or McGinnest but they still have guys like Bruschi, Vrabel, Seymour, Wilfork, Warren, Colvin, Banta-Cain, Harrison, Watson, Dillon, Light and Koppen. These are the type of guys that won't allow themselves to lose to an inferior rebuilding team like the Bills. I will be shocked if the Bills were to do it.
  25. You act as if the Bills will miraculously have the answers for Tom Brady & Co. just because they lost a kicker and a geiser LB. You're making way too much of their recent losses. I hate to say this but Watson, Dillon and Maroney will be all that Brady will need to beat our team. The Bills will have to play out of their socks to beat the Patriots. I'm not saying the can't do it but I think it would be a major upset if they did. I laugh at the suggestions here that the Patriots are no longer a very good team.
