If only we never traded to draft JP...
1billsfan replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was talking about Grove, Shaub and Spencer. They've done nothing noteworthy in the NFL. You're whole premise for this post is silly. Any fan can call out TD, or any other GM in the NFL for that matter, and point out players that they should have picked that were there for the taking 2 years after the fact. It's the ultimate in "hindsight" football arguments. Were you begging for them to pick Sanders when the Bills pick came around? I'm thinking you were not. -

You just named three guys who've done squat so far in the NFL. Considering no one knows if JP has the right stuff or not (eight games is not near enough to determine this), your argument holds little weight for me. Maybe we'll get the answers on these players this season, we just don't have them now. -
With so many teams in dire need of a receiver and so few available don't expect Moulds to be "cut". Any team that wants Moulds will have to pry him away with picks (of course he and his agent will have to work out a deal before hand since no team will take him at his current salary, can you say sign and trade?). He either remains a Bill or we'll get something for him, there will be no outright release of Eric Moulds.

Now That Pickett Isn't In The Bills' Plans...
1billsfan replied to R. Rich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trade down and build the offensive line getting a center (Mangold?), guard (Spencer?) and tackle (Justice?) with the three picks in the first two rounds. I think we can all agree it's about time we get an offensive line. -
Moulds will be a Patriot if released

Do you honestly believe that he'll sign with a losing team after what's come out of his mouth the past few years? This is a guy that is sick and tired of losing, I have no doubt he'll be going to a contender if given the opportunity. -

Get a clue. Why don't you enlighten us on who'd Moulds would sign with if given the chance? -

Why is it so hard to see Eric going to the Pats if given the chance? I think it's pretty reasonable that he'll either be on the Patriots or the Eagles. The man has stated time and time again he wants to go to a team that has a legit shot at the Superbowl and both of these teams need a starting receiver badly. There's no link I have, it's just getting real with the facts. -

Who would you go to? The team that has Jake Pummer, Donovan McNabb, or Tom Brady at QB? Kinda answers where he'll end up. -

Where would you go after over ten years of bs QBs throwing him the ball? Do you think you'd want to go to the team that has Tom Brady? The Patriots are down a starting receiver and they've done it before (remember Antoine Smith?). Simple deductions...any more questions? -
Givens signing with Tennessee assures Eric will be a Pat if the Bills are stupid enough to cave in an let him go.

Moulds demands release or trade.....

The question people need to focus on regarding what to do with Eric Moulds is...what would be best for the Buffalo Bills? The answer is to keep him, even if it's at his current salary number. Since the Bills have no prospect to replace such a vital member of our offense they have to bring Eric back. Giving in to his and his agent's tantrum throwing is not a good enough reason to jeopordize the 2006 offense. Marv and Jauron need to hold firm on this one for future negotiations of players. They other shoe to drop of this debacle would be when the Patriots sign him once he's let go. You want to see some senseless doom and gloom? That's it right there and we all know this would happen. So the Bills must keep Moulds to protect the offense and protect themselves within the division. He fits under the cap so who cares if he's happy or what he'll be making? I know I don't. As for those who disagree with this, please give a name of a player who will be able to replace Eric in our offense. -
Look, I'm a JP Losman fan and I'm in full support of him being the starter this season. I went bonkers when Malarkey benched him during games and at the end of the season in favor of Holcomb, I'm still pissed off about that. My question is why aren't the players all warm and fuzzy for JP? I get the distinct feeling that he rubbed teamates the wrong way with his attitude. Did he act like he'd been there done that in 2005? I'm thinking that he might have, hence ruffled feathers on the team. I'm down with his cool laid back guy personality, I just wonder if there will be any lingering issues with his teamates. Maybe the team got ticked off seeing such fluffy stories when he had done nothing to warrant such praise from the media. When's the last time Moulds got such a lavish story from the press?
-
Can JP tone down his cocky attitude? Will he even try to? It seems to me he should take a page out of his hero Brent Favre and become a little more humble when dealing with his coaches, teamates, public and of course the media. It's great for him to have an abundance of confidence in himself, I just feel he needs to let his play do all of the talking like it did in the first quarter of that Miami game. I hope he does this for the good of his himself and his team. I don't think he's said or done anything outrageous, it's more in the way he seems to carry himself.

GW and Malarkey were into trickery and gimmicks which obviously went over like lead balloons with the players. At least Jauron seems like a straight shooter like Marv was, which I think this will do wonders for player performance and morale. To me, it felt like our last two coaches were too immature and sensitive to deal with a 53 man roster. In short, they were a couple of big babies. Here's to Jauron pulling a 180 on that trend.
-
We haven't had leadership in the front office or in the coaching staff either. That could have been a big part of why this team collapsed on itself when faced with the least bit of adversity. Get our players on the same page and let's see where they stack up with the rest of the AFC East teams. I'm certainly not writing off a complete turnaround of fortune for the Bills in 2006.
-
I'm amazed at your ingratitude after Marv's clear upgrading over Bannan, Cambell and Reed. You're obviously looking for Marv to sign superstars that quickly eat up all available cap space, this is NOT the road to success today's NFL. Marv's just taking a page from Beliceck's blueprint. You must be a big fan of Daniel Snyder.
-
The Rams never throw to their TEs and with Fairchild coming over from that system I'd say thats why Marv grabbed the blocking TE in FA. Our receivers and backs will be the ones getting the ball through the air.

Dolphins interested in Josh Reed

I think we can get by without his 2 touchdowns per season production. Him going to the Dolphins doesn't scare me one bit. -
Random Mock Draft...Very Interesting Write Up
1billsfan replied to gblakely14's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Comparing V. Davis to Everett is like comparing a Heineken to a Michelobe UltraLite. The experts are on point with completely disregarding Everett's value to the Bills. -
Call me crazy but since the Bills have never had a V. Davis type TE, I'm thinking they would make it a point to throw him the ball especially near the end zone. So we have the former Rams OC, so what. Did you know that he never called the plays for the Rams? Martz did. So how do you know he wouldn't use the TE if we had V. Davis?
-
I'm talking the eighth pick here. The Bills have no business picking up any offensive lineman not named D'brick in the first round. IMO it'd be a major reach if they were to do so. The 2nd/3rd rounds and FA are where the Bills will start the big buildup of their offensive line. Davis isn't spiffy, he'd be a monster the rest of the AFC East would hate to face.
-
I'm totally against the Bills going DB in the first round. The reason is that the Bills were the softest team in the league against the run and they were also 30th in the league in red zone offense. Picking a DB here would be a contradiction to solving either one of these problems. I think the Bills need to draft either a defensive lineman with huge upside (Williams, Ngata, Bunkley) or grab the tight end V. Davis who would make an immediate impact in the red zone offensive production. How many times have you seen highlights of Tony Gonzales, Antonio Gates or Algea Crumpler scoring TDs in the red zone? For those who think the Bills would be foolish to grab Davis, please remember the 30th red zone ranking and look at this freak's performance at the combine. Davis is a player the Bills need big time. Please Marv, NO DBs in the first round!!!!!
-
I heard it too. Sounds like he's at least on the NFL drafting radar. Any Monmouth fans out there that could give us the lowdown?
-
He's 6-3" 215lb and ran a 4.47 at the combine in the 40 which is pretty good. He's also had 33 TDs in his career. Has anyone here seen him play? Could this guy be someone we should draft?
