  1. Why did it take them so long to do this? Kind of late in the game don't you think C-SPAN? Just another media outlet that decided it was more important to keep silent and lose their credibility rather than anger the chosen one.
  2. A couple of days ago, I heard on a cable news channel that pilots and other airline employees call TSA "Thousands Standing Around."
  3. Excellent post, especially the part about Billick's derogatory comments about Buffalo. F him. Who is he to put down Buffalo like that? That guy has a way too inflated opinion of himself. I'll be very disappointed if Billick is named the head coach. Jim Harbaugh is the guy the Bills should be pursuing. As for the second point, you do know that Dick Jauron was fired?
  4. No...the dog. Darn pooch can never keep his big mouth shut.
  5. of the year honors... http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/1274597...efensive-rookie Byrd was truly a bright spot on the dismal season of 2009.
  6. Wrong again... November 25, 2009 http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/index.php?...=102234&hl= "Who's the coach going to be? My guess is that he'd hire a guy like Jim Harbaugh. Tough as nails, knows the pro game, knows the QB position. I think that Harbaugh has a good chance to be the next Jeff Fisher or Bill Cowher. A former player turned head coach who has a real passion for winning."
  7. Unfortunately, our dumb-ass team will probably be thinking along the same lines as you. The Bills need to think big and swing for the fence and grab the guy who has "best coach in the NFL" kind of promising career. Not grab another freaking boring retread who only won because of the Raven's brilliant front office's moves, defensive players and defensive coaches.
  8. How many of those guys you mentioned have had a 14 year career as an NFL quarterback? Since Cowher isn't coming here, the Bills would be lucky to get a guy like Jim Harbaugh to come here. He's a slam dunk for being a successful NFL head coach. Think of it as getting Jeff Fischer or Bill Cowher as a rookie NFL head coach.
  9. But seriously, why wouldn't Weisenhunt promote him to offensive coordinator? That would have been the logical progression when they both bolted for Arizona. I get the feeling that Grimm just doesn't have the mental capacity for the job. So if that's the case then I certainly don't want him becoming the head coach of the Bills. John Harbaugh was clearly such a good head coaching prospect that he was able to make that jump quickly. Soprano was a Parcells protege so he knew that he had the goods.
  10. He's not an offensive coordinator, he's never been one either. He has some baloney "running game coordinator" title that sounds just plain goofy. Like giving a big dog a biscuit and tapping him on the head saying "good boy Russ, good boy". I'm not feeling Grimm at all. Jim Harbaugh should be the next name on the list after Cowher, but the Bills are dumb and will no doubt hire another crappy head coach in a long line of crappy head coaches.
  11. How many brain cells do you think Grimm has left after 10 years of life in the trenches in the NFC East circa 80's and early 90's? I'm thinking not many. He's been in coaching awfully long time and still has not been made an OC. Sorry, but that's a red flag to me.
  12. Cowher has already given up three years worth of HUGE multimillion dollar coaching contracts. If he doesn't take the Bills job (if it's offered) and the NFL takes a year break in 2011, that will be 5 years worth of multimillion dollar coaching contracts he missed out on. Let's say that he would have averaged 8 million dollars a year. That's 40 million dollars that he'll never get back. So he gets back into the game in 2012 five years after he left and his star not as bright so he has to settle for 5 million a year or less but a team that he feels more comfortable with? You may say that he doesn't need extra money, but this guy is still young and he should be piggy banking these hefty multimillion dollar contracts now so that he can retire comfortably and still be young enough to enjoy the dough. You can't tell me he made that much money with the Steelers that he can just sit back year after year without a care in the world. If he turns down the Bills and goes back to CBS then he's just plain stupid and maybe shouldn't be the head coach of the Bills anyways.
  13. I now know for certain it's a new era since I agree with pretty much everything you said. If it is Billick I will just have to suck it up knowing that he's a much better coach than Jauron. If they do bring in Harbaugh for an interview then I'll be almost just as psyched as I am about the Cowher rumors.
  14. Billick is like a high maintenance girlfriend who needs to have constant reaffirmation about how good looking she is. It's like he seemed easily distracted by the limelight of being an NFL head coach, and not nearly as interested in the blood sweat and tears part of the job. I do not have good vibes on Brian Billick. Geez, what's the harm of giving Jim Harbaugh a freaking chance? I do not want to have to try to convince myself that Billick's a good hire, just like I did with Jauron four years ago.
  15. If the Bills don't get Cowher, he's the only coach left that I'd be seriously excited about getting. Jim Harbaugh is going to be a very successful NFL head coach one day and it might as well be the Bills who give him the shot. He may not even take the job if offered, but if that's the case then you keep moving down the list.
  16. Worked? Saying that the system worked this year is like Napalitano saying the system worked. The Jets making the playoffs has made the league look like a total joke. There is no way around that. Docking teams draft picks is not screwing anything up. It creates an incentive to play for real so that teams like the Jets don't get a free pass to the NFL playoffs. This is not the same league it was 20-50 years ago. It's time that something is done. You will no doubt side with me if the 2010 Bills are next years Houston Texans.
  17. The first one is ridiculously unfair to warm weather teams heading north in December. The second one is just plain silly. It's like someone using a sledgehammer to push a tack into a wall. The NFL isn't a democracy, it a dictatorship. Goodell's got all the power he needs.
  18. Yes there is and that policeman's name is Roger Goodell. He is the judge and jury on all things NFL. As for your second point, what's more ludicrous is the Jets being given a "free pass" to the playoffs after week 15. The NFL looks foolish this year and docking draft picks is the only way to deter teams from sitting their starters. So if they want to rest their starters go ahead, but there has to be a price to pay for the sham games we saw these last couple of weeks. It seriously is starting to hurt the image of the NFL.
  19. It has to be a penalty thing. That way it hurts if they decide to go that route. Some teams may say that resting their players even at that cost is worth the peace of mind of having your players healthy for the playoffs. But the commish needs to make the decision painful. Heck, make it a 1st rounder. That is the most painful, right?
  20. I used to think that way. But the Jets drawing a "go straight to the playoffs" card this year has changed my mind. I think that teams that lay down at the end of the season should be docked 2nd or 3rd rd draft picks. These crucial "gimmie" games have made the league look like a total sham and these games are a lottery ticket to teams like the Jets who don't deserve to be there.
  21. You do know what the meaning of the word "stealth" is, right? It means that this Yahoo sportswriter probably had no freaking clue about Cowher's meeting with the Bills.
  22. Made more so by this loser head coach who lost total control of his team. The place was a zoo and a lot of that falls on Haslett, not Katrina. Bills fans will not stand for the Jauron Part II era. That should be crystal clear by the responses to this thread. I consider it an insult to our fans whenever his name is mentioned as a potential candidate.
  23. You forgot Haslett's Saints "stint" in which his team pulled a big-time quit job on him which was the reason he was fired. This is the saddest thread ever. Why on earth does this Jim Haslett loser still get mentioned here?????????
  24. They played with a purpose. It was clear early on that they were going to get Freddie his 1000 yards. It was fun to watch even though the Colts barely participated. It's fun to watch Bills players and fans having fun for once. Let's hope it carries over to the 2010 season.
  25. You're completely off the mark. This team has a good amount of talented players. Enough that if the right coach is chosen and they add a few missing pieces during the offseason, they could win the division. The Pats (yes the "mighty" Pats), Jets and Dolphins are all beatable teams next season.
