Rob Johnson won the game if not for the most timely trick play in pro football history. If Johnson had crapped the bed then the argument against benching Flutie holds some water. Our offense with Flutie at QB sucked that year.

I know that Bills fans have valid beefs with Ralph, but this is not one of them. If he's offering Cowher 10 million a year and the dufus still can't SOGOTP, then he has every right to give a hint to a reporter as to why Bill Cowher isn't here. Would you give someone 10 million a year that wasn't thrilled after he signed the contract? I'm glad that Ralph said what he said in that interview. Is it Cowher? Is it his wife? Newsflash, they're just not that into the Bills. At least Shanny had the decency to flat out say he didn't want the job rather than let it drag on and on and on knowing deep down that he didn't want the job. I'd rather have a Perry Fewell than a Bill Cowher who only came here because the offer was too big to pass up. Hopefully they are going to make a play for Harbaugh. He's a young guy with a lot of bravado and fire who's just what the doctor ordered for the Bills next head coach going against guys like Belichick, Sparano, and Ryan.

Sorry, but TSW is way ahead of the KFFL curve... http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/index.php?showtopic=105049

How crazy would it be if Cowher was hired by the Bills but stipulated that he wanted to be the one to announce it on tomorrow's show. Let me say this, if it is indeed Bill Cowher, the biggest bang for the Buffalo Bills buck is to have it be tomorrow's huge breaking story that football fans would talk about all day long while they were watching football.

Perry Fewell: The Best Coach Since Wade?
1billsfan replied to Arkady Renko's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fewell did impress me as a head coach. So much so that I wouldn't be all that mad if he were hired after Cowher, Schottenhiemer, Harbaugh and maybe Frazier (don't know much about how good he might be) all said no to the job. Use the big time money set aside for Shanny and Cowher on some good FA players and good coordinators. At some point, I really don't want another coach just for the sake of another coach. Grimm, Marty's son? Sorry, but I'd take Perry Fewell over them. -
Too late, Miami drafted him... http://www.gbnreport.com/2010projection.html

Bengals over Jets - Jets are who we think they are. No team who was beat by the Bills could ever possibly win a playoff game. Cowboys over Eagles - Cowboys have a real shot at going to the Superbowl. Ravens over Patriots - Patriots have the look of the Bills at the end of their run in the mid 90's. It's not a good thing when you're relying on names like Morris, Aiken and Seau to help win you playoff games. Cardinals over Packers - Cardinals get last year's magic back.

how big of a joke is this team when...
1billsfan replied to OldTimer1960's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If this is true, don't be mad. There's barely a functioning brain cell in Russ Grimm's head. He did put in ten full years in the trenches when football was still a rough and tumble game. I'd seriously rather have Perry than Russ as the Bills head coach. I mean, has anyone ever heard of a running game coordinator???? That sounds like a goofy made up title that the head coach gives to someone he feels sorry for and who was too stupid to handle the offensive coordinator job. http://www.azcardinals.com/team/coaches.html -
Bills close to making a decision?

Well then if it ends up to be him then let's hope it's not another TD/Greggo situation. -
Bills close to making a decision?
1billsfan replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills wouldn't want to wait till possibly early Feb because of the early season ticket selling thing and I don't think the Vikings would want them to announce anything until their season was over. I just don't get the feeling that the Bills were so blown away today by Frazier, that it got to Lombardi so quickly that the decision was coming soon. That just doesn't ring true to me. That's why I don't think it's Frazier. -

Bills close to making a decision?

That's the thing...if the Bills are close to making a decision, then it can't be Frazier. League rules don't allow a team to hire a coach who's current team is still playing. -
Bills close to making a decision?

Bills close to making a decision...Harbaugh a "stealth" candidate...hmmmmmmm...that's a situation where they would need to make a quick decision because it's the college recruiting season and there is no way Harbaugh would allow his name to linger very long. I hope it is either Harbaugh or Cowher. -
It'll never happen, but I wish he would just tell congress to rip up the over 2,000 page healthcare bill and start over. That this needs to be a truly bipartisan effort. That the far left and the far right must give way to the majority in the middle. Transparency, specificity, let everyone in the country know that back room deals will not be a part of the process. If he did this then his approval ratings would skyrocket. But unfortunately for him, Barry is too liberal for his own good and his liberal tax and spend butt will be gone in 2012 along with all the other democrats who will be "teabagged" in 2010.

I agree. The Bills need to build from the inside out. They need to draft 2 OLs, LB, DE before looking at picking a QB in the 4th round or later. I know that's 4 picks in the first three rounds but I think we trade Lynch for an extra pick on draft day. The other option I like is trying to trade for a guy who's ready for NFL starting duties, Kevin Kolb in Philly using Lynch, McKelvin, Whitner or draft picks as trade bait.

Coming soon, the 1st Annual Good Ol' Buffalo Bills Booster Day... At 0:22 Ralph and Buddy signing autographs. At 3:24... "Hey Perry, what are you still doing here?...You're the coach this year?...Where's Buddy?" At 3:40 Russ tells Ralph that ticket sales are slow. Ralph gives Russ a piece of his mind and tells him to go and offer Miles Austin 10 million a year.

Cowher the Cowher is Cowher for Cowher in Cowher's Cowher
1billsfan replied to bills_red's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
FYI, King was quoting what the potential coaching candidate said to him. That this person "wasn't crazy about the Nix hire." Then King went on to guess that the Bills would fly under the radar and end up hiring somebody like Marty's boy Brain. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm liking hiring Perry Fewell on the cheap more and more. Once the Bills eventually find a QB then maybe either Fewell has grown into the position or they could hire one of the big names who would no doubt be knocking on our door. Not having a good QB to build with is killing us more than Nix. -
Cowher the Cowher is Cowher for Cowher in Cowher's Cowher
1billsfan replied to bills_red's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He also said that he was talking to one of the potential head coaching candidates who's on the lists going around and the guy said he was disappointed in their hiring of Buddy Nix. The first obvious question is...who was it that said that to King? The other question is...is he going to accept an interview, and possibly the head coaching job, from the Bills? The show is rebroadcast at 6:30 on ESPN2, for those who wish to see it. -
They drag this unending bowl season out waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to long. I keep thinking the college football season is over and then like Jason, it comes back again...
-
I'd try and work a trade with Philly for Kevin Kolb. Not that he's the definite answer, but the guy did look very good in relief of McNabb this season. He's had a few season to learn the game. I think he's the league's current Matt Shaub "very good starting qb in waiting." The Bills could possibly swap first round picks with Philly or use Lynch/McKelvin/Whitner/draft picks exchanged as trade bait also. Not that I'm down on Brohm, it's just that I don't think he's ready for 2010 starting duties.

Fewell satisfied with Bills interview....
1billsfan replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as I can't wait for change, if we get turned down by enough top coaches (Cowher, Harbaugh), I wouldn't be crazy mad if they hired Fewell to a very cheap three year head coaching deal that would be easy to dump if 2010 was another bad year. -
I think Fewell's a good coach, but Giant fans should be screaming NOOOOOO at the prospect of Dick Jauron becoming their DC. After seeing 4 years of his work I wouldn't hire him as the waterboy.

Bill Cowher AND Brian Billick...
1billsfan replied to Buffalo Beeeews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Other than Brian "I'm great" Billick which of the potential coaching candidates has said something derogatory about Buffalo?
