http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football...r_in_south.html The Jet head coach has become an official embarrassment to the Jets, their fans and the NFL. How do you enforce discipline when you're a loose cannon yourself? By far the most "entertaining" head coach in the league, but probably not going to last very long though if this is how he fills his spare time.

If Bradford does drop to us and the only question with him is the injury issue, then the Bills would almost have to draft him. While it's difficult to find a LT, finding franchise QBs are 10 times harder. This team needs a leader and they should draft Bradford if available and sit him on the shelf for a full year. Draft a LT in 2011 and the offense will be fully ready to compete with the big boys for a long time to come. We waited this long, I could wait another year if it meant a long run of playoffs.

Leslie Frazier could have been a good coach
1billsfan replied to bluv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There was something very strange about the abruptness of the Bills hiring of Gailey. I will always feel that something was Frazier's cooling attitude towards the Bills job which was confirmed by the Bills sometime that Sunday night before the news hit on the next day about Gailey. -

Wow, so you see nothing wrong with Frazier's pining for a job he has zero chance of getting after interviewing with the Bills, a team for which he had a very good chance at getting the job???? It's one thing to be Bill Cowher, it's another thing to be Leslie "Mr. Nobody" Frazier. This moron made the Bills decision very easy for them. "So you're going to rate the Bills job behind the Seahawks job which you have no shot at???? Go f yourself, here's Gailey!!!!" If you want to think it was just a coincidence that Gailey's name was announced the day after the stories of Frazier making serious overtures to get the Seattle job (a job he had no chance at mind you), then you are truly naive. Frazier thought the Bills were too stupid to notice he was bribing the Seahawks so as not be punished with the Bills head coaching job. BTW, any guy who makes "Dungy" his biggest reason for him being hired for a head coaching job is probably NOT going to make a very good head coach. -

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...ed-bring-dungy/ "On Sunday, Jay Glazer of FOX reported that Frazier was telling Seahawks CEO Tod Leiweke during last weekend's interview that Frazier could get Dungy to come with him to Seattle." http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...bout-bills-job/ "The only thing I'm really focused on right now is the NFC Championship game," Frazier said. "In the meantime, enjoy this for a little bit then on Monday we got to get ready for that NFC Championship game." That was the Sunday before the Monday it was reported that the Bills had decided on Gailey. It was insulting to the Bills that Frazier was campaigning so heavily for a job he had absolutely no shot at when he was still in the running for the Bills head coaching position. Who is Leslie Frazier to thumb his nose at the Bills job with that desperation move to try to get the Seattle job instead? He really should have been showing interest in the Bills job. One minute he's pleading the Seahawks, the next he doesn't want to talk about the Bills job. He's a tool for thinking he's better than the Bills and we are lucky the Bills didn't hire him. The Bills basically told Frazier to get lost when they read those stories. -

Schottenheimer is a young guy, him and Harbaugh get a pass. Frazier and Grimm are both long in the tooth coaches who are complete morons to act as if somehow the Bills are not a worthy enough franchise to show interest in being their head coach. I'm glad the Bills stopped pursuing them and neither of them are the Bills head coach. -

Exactly. Newsflash to Leslie Frazier fans. That is a really big clue that he didn't want the Bills job. But you Frazier fans amazingly still wish for a guy in his 50s who's never been a head coach and who should have been begging for the Bills head coaching job, but instead decided to insult the Bills with his flowery bouquet of overtures to Seattle. A job even he should have been smart enough to know he had no shot to get, zero chance. Plus, what kind of a guy thinks that promoting the "Dungy" name is better than promoting your own qualifications for the job? That's like saying that I'll have my daddy there to help me through the rough spots. I am so glad that Leslie Frazier didn't want the Bills job so that they weren't tempted to hire a guy that wasn't thrilled with his first shot at a life long dream because it was the Buffalo job. Screw him. I hope Favre retires, the Vikings are horrible and Leslie Frazier is s__t out of luck and never gets offered a head coaching job ever again. -
The best was when the Jauron supporters would retort back about Belichick's failures early in his head coaching career and make the comparison to Jauron's failures. That Jauron was seemingly going to become the next coaching genius if we just waited long enough. Yeah, that part didn't exactly happen.
-
I was done with Jauron's incompetence by october of the 2007 season. Took a lot of heat for constantly ripping him. Laughed at guys like Carruci who would talk about the need for "continuity" year after dismal year. Meanwhile the Jets are firing guys who have 9-7 records and took their team to the playoffs like Mangini did. For Marv to even suggest that the Bills should have still given Jauron more years is absolutely insulting to me as a Bills fan. I can't respect a guy who has the nerve to say something as foolish as what he said. He should send Polian a thank you note for his HOF bust.
-
It's widely known that Jauron had a large say in who they drafted. I'm sure that Nix will do much a much better job than Jauron in picking players who are worth a you know what.

Who are you rooting for tomorrow?
1billsfan replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's stupid that the Jets were left off as a voting option and even more stupid that someone would actually vote for a one option poll. I'm rooting for the Jets because the Colts are a ball-less team for what they did at the end of the season. They held an unbeaten record at week 16, were playing at home with the lead and just gave the game to the Jets. Disgusting. Then in the final week kept their starters in the game till some players hit certain stat goals. That Colts team offends me as a football fan for those two reasons. I'm impressed with what the Jets are doing. I hope the Jets (fellow AFC East team) kick the crap out of Manning and his team of little scared kitties. The OP should have had some balls and let the fans decide. -
Someone should let Marv know that insulting the intelligence of Bills fans is not a very "loyal" thing for him to do. He was an abysmal failure as a GM and about that 0-4 Superbowl record...seriously, you couldn't win one of those games? He should just stop talking about the current state of the Bills and stick to talking about the glory days of winning AFC Championships and blowing the big one.
-
Agreed. OT is the obvious first round pick, then LBs. Hoping they don't blow the pick. 2011 is the year to draft a QB in the first if Brohm, Fitz or whoever else they bring in through trade/FA don't pan out in 2010.

Championship Sunday -who ya got?

The far worse karma is the Colts having a 14-0 (unbeaten) record and literally letting the Jets beat you at home. They gave away an unbeaten record without batting an eye. Then in the final week they kept their starters in the game long enough to reach stat goals. So you give away an unbeaten record to protect your starters, but then risk their health for stat reasons???? This year the Colts became an embarrassment to fans of real football. I hope the Jets "mop the floor" with the Colts because of them just giving that game away with an unbeaten record at home. As a football fan that was about as ball-less as it gets. -

Relax, it's just my opinion. Manning is the Colts, he's the reason for them winning the Superbowl and he's a big reason for the losses too. -
As good as he looked throwing the ball in that blizzard against the Colts, I'd say Fitzy should definitely be back. The Bills need to draft an LT with their first pick and just hope that Fitzy, Brohm or a guy draft in rd 3 or later can show signs of becoming the guy. Next year is when they should draft a QB in the first round if they still need one.

When four of those wins is from the one Superbowl year that's a horrible record. I just see Manning and the Colts blowing it again. -

That was his one good year in the playoffs out of 11 seasons total. Check it out... Playoff Record as Starting QB: 1999 (0-1), 2000 (0-1), 2002 (0-1), 2003 (2-1), 2004 (1-1), 2005 (0-1), 2006 (4-0), 2007 (0-1), 2008 (0-1) -

I think Peyton Manning is a choker type of a QB when it comes to the playoffs. The Jets are the tougher team, they have the better defense and the better running game. Colts will rue the day they let laid down to the Jets in week 16. I think the Jets beat them. The Saints will beat the Vikings. They'll go on to beat the Jets in the Superbowl. -
Every NFL team has hope, but it's hard to believe in
1billsfan replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where's the outrage and mocking in the media regarding the retreads of retreads Wade and Norv, both getting three year contract extensions after proving they stink in the playoffs? I'd seriously rather have Gailey than those two proven losers. Let me also ask, what's the difference between when the Giants hired Tom Coughlin and the Bills hiring of Chan Gailey? VERY similar coaches if you ask me. Enough of the being made fun of stuff. This writer should take a look around the league and reevaluate exactly where Gailey ranks as a head coach. If Cowher thinks he was the man to take his head coaching job with the Steelers then who am I to argue. I hope Gailey makes all of the coaches who turned down the Bills job look like fools. -
When you're David Axelrod and your explanation goes over like a lead balloon on MSNBC, you're in serious trouble. The funny thing is that Obama is so arrogant and out of touch with real people that he probably believes Axelrod's explanation.
-
I don't get the Marty love around here. I know he made the playoffs, but his teams were always so darn tight once they got there. One of the worst big game coaches ever. Losing out on Brain is another matter though. Would have been nice to see what he'd do with this job.

Fraizer did NOT turn down the Bills
1billsfan replied to BillsNYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well before the media starts calling the Bills racists, this matter of whether Frazier wanted the job hopefully will be cleared up. ...and if he did "shy" away from the only head coaching job ever offered to him at his age than he's truly a moron. I'm so glad he's not going to be our coach.
